  1. Nice articles! Did answer some of my questions and it softens a few disappointments I got during the episode.

3th and 4th link are not working for me, I think these are the correct ones here:

  2. Sara Colleton´s interview for TV Line had the weirdest explanation to me in a long time.
She states that Dexter doesn´t die because it´s a punishment to not get what you want. and that this is worse than death. This logic is kinda weird because it means firstly that everyone out there who wants something that he or she doesn´t get (fame, wealth, the love of life) is punished as well and secondly I doubt that anyone would see yearning worse than death.
Besides it would mean that this punishment is pretty disproportionate because everyone would be "punished" the same way no matter what they have done in life.

  3. I thought that interview made some sense. Don't get me wrong, I have some issues with the finale too, but I thought it seemed fit. The way I see it, death (by suicide) wouldn't be a punishment for Dexter, as it'd mean he took the easy way out. If someone else killed him, without him expecting it, I think that would be a punishment. But it's not. He has to live with everything he had done and the consequences other people close to him had suffered because of his actions. Like with Deb, he blames himself for what happened to her. If he had killed Saxon, Deb would be okay. But he didn't kill him. And he has to live with that for the rest of his life. That guilt will haunt him all the time.

  4. TVLINE | So, we now know that a potential spin-off likely won’t center on Deb or Kenny Johnson’s dead U.S. Marshall. Was there ever actual discussion about centering the project on either of those characters?
It was amusing more than anything. We would hear something about a U.S. Marshall spin-off or a Deb spin-off and we would laugh among ourselves, wondering where these ideas were coming from. We just wanted to complete the series; eight years is a long time.

Um, Showtime President and Scott Buck have already expressed a good possibility of one, even if it obviously can't be the two characters you mentioned, but it also answers the question about the NEED for loose ends (Hannah, Harrison, Dexter), which you also just shrugged off with "not enough time". And there was another ending, as former showrunner Clyde Phillips gave an interview about. (although I hate that ending and loved this one) You guys are biggest liars! XD
