    I don't think Elena has evolved as a character - I think it's the opposite. They should never have turned her into a vampire in the first place.

    What evolution? This character used to be good, but now is not a strong character or a strong woman, vampire or not!

    I get that they wanted explore all these different versions of Elena in order to figure out what kind of person she would be going forward into adulthood. However, unless they spend the next season reinforcing the newly evolved character (the whole Elena and not just the different parts of her) then all that effort last season will be for nothing.

    I didn't mind Elena this season. Not much anyway. I liked when she spoke her mind, (before we knew she was sired) and sticking up for herself and her feelings for Damon, to Caroline and Bonnie, b/c it's something she never really did. I liked how she used a little newbie vamp strength in some scenes, and glad when she referenced some of her techniques to Alaric. I didn't mind when she turned off her humanity, b/c she spilled out ugly truths (or lies w/e way you look at it) about Stefan, Caroline, Bonnie, (For example). I mean looking back on it, to quote Charisma Carpenter in Angel (talking about Angelus) "He lies with the truth" I might be the minority here, but i think before her humanity was turned off, before Jer died, i felt she was more womanly, she just stopped taking crap, and she didn't keep her mouth shut about every little thing. That's what i liked the most. But "heroine"?? Ummm IDTS! Definitely disagree about that one.
