  1. Okay, not exactly what I'd pictured. I only hope he can pull it off right. Not worried about the acting but rather IDK, the look I guess.

  2. Considering how much Ben Affleck complained about being in Daredevil, he's going to take another shot at the superhero genre?

  3. I would have preferred Christian Bale

  4. That's terrible casting...

  5. I love him, but not sure how I feel about this.

But I love the casting suggestions of Matt Damon as Robin and I may call him Batfleck from now on, just like everyone else.

  6. I'd put Adam West back in costume before I'd let Affleck anywhere near this.

  7. This is like Clooney all over again

  8. That wouldn't be my first choice. Or second or third.

  9. Not feeling this...

  10. For some reason this puts me off the film.

  11. Please tell me this is a joke.

You're not okay about Affleck being the new Batman, but you're okay with the idea of Matt Damon, who isn't that young anymore might I add, to play Robin. Something's wrong with that picture and doesn't make much sense to me.

  13. Okay. Is it going to be a comedy? Seriously? I'm not going to watch it. I like Affleck, but he's no Batman.

Ummm...yeah, no. Just no. This had better be a dam joke. But then again, people had their doubts about Heath Ledger playing the Joker in The Dark Knight and Anne Hathaway as Catwoman in The Dark Knight Rises, so we'll see I guess?

ITT: lots of people who haven't seen Affleck's good movies. Go watch Argo or The Town. He's not a bad actor.

  16. I agree, sure he doesn't have the greatest track record, but that isn't strange seeing as he started as a pretty face, and there are a couple movies were he has exelled, argo being one of them. I'm not saying he's the best choice out there, but he may surprise us.

  17. I'd be willing to trust it if it was Nolan's casting choices, since he's supposedly being reduced in his producing for the sequel...I'm very skeptical

I was really hoping for Sam Witwer...oh well.

  19. A bad Daredevil being Batman NO JUST NO

    ReplyDelete
  20. He's a good actor but that doesn't necessarily make him a good fit for this part.

    ReplyDelete
  21. First reaction: God lord, no.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Because Matt Damon is Ben's best friend and I love the hilarity of that...

    ReplyDelete
  23. I like Affleck as a director but as Batman????

    ReplyDelete
  24. Huh...I remember reading he actually lobbied to get that role....
(now what he's said about the part and the movie since whole other story....)

    ReplyDelete
  25. interesting... I was kinda hoping that maybe Josh Brolin might get it, and initially didn't like it, but he's gotten some pretty good acting reviews for some of the movies he's done since the slop that was Daredevil, like the Town, Argo, and Hollywoodland (where I think he played the actor who first portrayed Superman onscreen), so perhaps he's figured out to refine his acting.... I'll keep an open mind for now

    ReplyDelete
  26. Please no. The guy's a decent director, but he's such a wooden and boring actor.

    ReplyDelete
  27. He is a great director! And he is a good actor.... but I can't say I see him as Batman....

I thought after the Tyler Hoechlin rumor was over and done with, they were going quite a bit older... older than Ben Affleck....
And one of their choices was Max Martini.... why not Max Martini? Max Martini is amazing! And he'd make an exceptional older, weathered, seasoned Bruce/Batman....

  28. I really don't think one can really fairly judge Clooney's Batman, from that disaster of a film....

  29. Aaaaaand they fucked it up. Sorry for the language, but I can't find a better way to express my feelings. No kidding, as an actor, Ben Affleck is one hell of a director.
    Worst.casting.ever!

  30. Do you honestly think Clooney was a good fit for Batman?

    ReplyDelete
  31. Is it April Fools' Day or what?....

    ReplyDelete
  32. I never would have pegged him for this role but I am quite looking forward to seeing his version of Batman, Affleck is a very good actor and a babe to boot.

    ReplyDelete
  33. What I honestly think is nothing that came from that movie should be taken into consideration.... not even if George Clooney was fit to play Batman.

If the movie worked on any level I would be more inclined to judge how good or bad the casting and the performance was.

  34. Bad casting Ben can pull of a lot of roles but Batman is not one of them.

    ReplyDelete
  35. NOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooOOOOOOOOO!

  36. Michael Gary Scott put this very elloquently: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=umDr0mPuyQc

  37. Yep, this smells like studio pressure.

  38. Ben has voiced his regret over his Daredevil role. It's funny because I just heard on a newscast that Ben has said if he ever took on another superhero role it was because he was broke. Well he's not broke and let's face it, this genre has grown leaps and bounds over the past ten years. I was shocked at this casting news at first, but today I'm feeling more optimistic about Ben being Batman. That plus I feel badly for Ben who is receiving more crap than anyone should over being cast for a role. Also, I'm looking forward to actually understanding what Batman is saying which was a bit of a challenge with Bale in the role.

  39. 50/50 about this one

    ReplyDelete
  40. As I said, I know he's regretted being in that movie since, but when they were making it, I recall he actually wanted to do it....

You are right though, the genre is at a much better state this days, so I get it. And I personally think he could do well in the role.... I'm not writing him off in any way and I think there's potential there, but it's not a casting choice I'm for which I'm 100% confident or very excited for... I prefer if it does go well to be pleasantly surprised.
