Gringo - Cop Drama for Walton Goggins in development at FOX

Justified star Walton Goggins is reuniting with a familiar face for a drama at Fox.

Goggins will reteam with The Shield executive producer Adam Fierro to develop a cop drama set up at Fox, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

Gringo will revolve around an American cop who moves south of the border with his Mexican wife and ends up caught in the middle of the cartel wars.

Goggins and Fierro, who worked together when the former starred on FX's The Shield from 2004 to 2008, co-wrote the story with the latter, attached to pen the script for the Fox drama. Fierro and Goggins will executive produce the Fox Television Studios drama, with the latter's manager, Darris Hatch (CMT's Working Class), on board to co-executive produce.

  2. I think Boyd on Justified has had his day - Justified needs a new lease of life I think so I'd be happy to see Walter go off and make us another fine drama.

  3. I guess this is a "bad news, good news" situation. The bad news is this is yet another cop drama project for broadcast TV. The good news is that it's a Walton Goggins project and the premise seems interesting and at least somewhat unique.

I think it can survive without him, though it would require a substantial retooling...

  5. Guys, it says in the article that he's not appearing on screen. He can manage producing this and being on Justified at the same time (And the headline should say FROM not FOR)

  6. Could be good.... especially with those people on it...

  7. Boyd is the most interesting character on the show. And Boyd/Ava are my favorite pairing. I don't think he is leaving!
