This season I only watched 2 of the ones above: GOT and The Americans, so I'm going with them. It's a shame there are so many great shows out there that are never even nominated.

  2. Game of Thrones
    Breaking Bad
    Downton Abbey
    Homeland
    House of Cards
    Mad Men

I think these shows will be nominated, but I would substitute Justified and The Americans for Mad Men and Homeland personally.

  3. The Americans
    Breaking Bad
    Boardwalk Empire
    House of Cards
    Mad Men
    Game of Thrones

    ReplyDelete
  4. You don't think The Americans will be nominated?

    ReplyDelete
  5. Then you're definitely missing out. :P

    ReplyDelete
  6. There are so many great shows this season. I'm personally hoping "The Americans" at least gets a nomination, even though I think it's unlikely to win, because they've had such a strong start. However, with such a strong set of dramas this year, there ARE going to be truly great shows that won't even get a spot on the ballot.

  7. Bates Motel, Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, Person of Interest and Boardwalk Empire.

P.S: It's time to create a new category for non-cable tv shows.

I love Game of Thrones, but I voted for Hannibal because OMG that show is sooooo good!

    ReplyDelete
  9. Game of Thrones and Downtown Abbey

  10. I'm on the fence because I think there are 8 shows in the running...

I do not see them leaving out Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, House of Cards or Mad Men. That leaves Downton Abbey and Mad Men... Maybe The Americans will replace Downton Abbey?

Personally I do not think Homeland deserves a spot and I have not watched this season of Mad Men yet so I cannot judge it.....I would love Justified to get in but doubt it will get the series love it deserves.

    What do you think?

    ReplyDelete
  11. I would love to see The Americans get a nomination, but I'm not sure it has enough of a following yet compared to some of the others. It was critically praised all season, and so well done, but the ratings were never through the roof.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Such a shame the show doesn't really gets the audience it deserves.

    ReplyDelete
  13. I think Mad Men, Breaking Bad and Game of Thrones are a given, as are probably Homeland and Boardwalk Empire. Thinking about it you might be right, I'm not sure The Americans could repace a show like Downton Abbey (yet).

    ReplyDelete
  14. I think Boardwalk Empire deserves a spot too I guess... I'm just not sure they will. Of the established shows it "feels" the weakest to me I guess.

So maybe it comes down to:
    Homeland or The Americans
    Downton Abbey or Boardwalk Empire

There are just so many exceptional shows right now and only room for 6.... it is getting tougher now that more cable networks are striving to create top quality shows!!

    ReplyDelete
  15. Yup. I agree, although I guess that can be said about a lot of shows that are good but don't necessarily take off. Some of it just comes down to viewer taste.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Well my personal picks are Homeland, Breaking Bad, The Americans, Sons of Anarchy and Boardwalk Empire but unfortunately I don't have a ballot lol

    ReplyDelete
  17. Law and Order: Special Victims Unit NEEDS to be on that list.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Yeah true, I've seen a lot of people dismiss the show because it's told from a viewpoint of ''the enemy''.

Also, I followed your discuss account. I always seems to miss your comments and read them way too late, for which I apologize. :)

  19. WHERE IS GA? OR OUAT?

    ReplyDelete
  20. My nominations: Mad Men, The Americans, Game of Thrones, Sons of Anarchy, Dexter and Hannibal.

My predictions: Game of Thrones, Homeland, The Americans, The Good Wife, Breaking Bad and Mad Men.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Hannibal and Mad Men.

    ReplyDelete
  22. In the place where it will remain: far away from nomination possibilities. Don't get me wrong, I watch OUAT, but it will never ever be nominated for the Emmys.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Game Of Thrones!

My predictions: Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, Homeland, House of Cards, Mad Men and The Americans

My nominations: Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, Justified, House of Cards, The Americans and Sons of Anarchy..

  25. The Americans should win but I think Homeland is going to win

  26. maria alvarez lopez10 July 2013 at 20:36

really, you seariously leave the two best shows of all tv (Bones and GA out of nominations), tv academy outranks cable shows, they should turn a lot of a hell more into regular networks shows

    ReplyDelete
  27. I look forward to more interesting discussions!

    ReplyDelete
  28. House of Cards is the most underestimated television show on at the moment. It trumps anything else on the list. I hope it wins so viewers wake up to it

    ReplyDelete
  29. My Emmy wish list would be: Bates Motel, Dexter, Game of Thrones, Hannibal, Justified, and my "other" pick would be Elementary because Jonny Lee Miller is not the only one who did great work this season. (I've seen more talks about him being nominated than the show or the equally talented Lucy Lui.)

    ReplyDelete
  30. Game of Thrones - WInner
    Homeland
    The Good Wife
    Elementary
    Arrow
    Person of Interest

Sorry I'm not sorry. I'll be happy if two of my top three get nominated, the last three are just shows that I thought had excellent seasons despite what Academy snobs think.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I thought Justified was the best show of the year so I'd love to see that get nominated. The other 5 shows if like to see get nominated are The Newsroom, Game of Thrones, Homeland, Sons of Anarchy and Breaking Bad.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Dexter deserves at least a nomination this year! It was AMAZING with the 7th season!

    ReplyDelete
  33. Where's Person of Interest?

    ReplyDelete
  34. It's either Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones (please no) or Homeland.

    ReplyDelete
  35. What about Orphan Black? It MUST be nominated :D

    ReplyDelete
  36. Yeah, I miss those! When's the Americans coming back?

Edit: And what tool keeps voting us down? -_-''

    ReplyDelete
  37. Breaking Bad, Americans, Good Wife and GoT.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, Dexter, Hannibal and Homeland.

The Borgias should be on this list. Best acting on any show on TV today. Not to mention the scripts and cinematography are spellbinding

    The Borgias

  52. I will agree with future cult classic The Borgias. Love Downton, GOT and Homeland but I feel each has been better in previous seasons than this last.

THE BORGIAS !! A rare jewel filled with masterful plot, costumes, acting & storyline based on historical facts. A brilliant 3 seasons w award deserving:
    JEREMY IRONS,
    FRANCOIS ARNAUD,
    HOLLIDAY GRAINGER,
    SEAN HARRIS &
NEIL JORDAN (creator, producer, writer, director, GENIUS)
It will be greatly missed!! Network cancelled it w/o a proper ending :( painful to the devoted, loyal fans... EMMYS to them ALL, please !

    THE BORGIAS .... need I say more ??? ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  58. I couldn't agree more with this conversation guys...

    ReplyDelete
  59. I did see Carpenter in season 7, I just forgot about her, just like I think the critics will forget her too so she won't get any recognition.

    ReplyDelete
  60. No order:
    The Walking Dead
    Homeland
    Dexter
    Scandal
    Game of Thrones
    The Americans

I am not voting for the good wife because even though the second half of the season was amazing, I felt like the first half was their weakest run of episodes so far, especially with the Kalinda storyline, hated that. So I took it out and placed the americans in instead, even though the show is still very young.

  61. Scandal! Scandal! Scandal!

  63. Unexeptable that The Borgias, one of the most high standard quality series is not in the list.

Francois Arnaud DESERVE at least (if not the winnig!) an Emmy Nomination for his terrific job, on giving Cesare a much more "Human" Character, with HUGE, TERRIBLE FLAWS, but nevertheless, a human being...Not a pure "monster", not pure evil..

  67. Breaking Bad - winner, Homeland, Sons of Anarchy & Hannibal as they're the only one's I watch out of the list. I'd love to see Person of Interest and Scandal nominated as well.

    ReplyDelete
  68. The Borgias - best writing, acting, costumes, lighting, sets.

  69. Castle, Covert Affairs, or Major Crimes!!!
