I wonder if they will give us a little more backstory on psycho Junior (if he's always been unhinged and hiding it, or if he just snapped, maybe due to something his father did)... right now, he's just a total creepbag, lol
I also wish they do. I love the show but that is by far my least favorite storyline and doesn't seem that much connected with everything else that is going on, so I hope they at least dwell a bit more into Junior so I can feel something for him
Really, I worry about Angie tied up in the basement. The sneak peek following the episode had Dad Rennie opening the cellar door. Please, please let her out. And then I want Big Jim to have a talk with his son. Does his dad even know how screwed up his kid is, or is he just as bad?
SPOILER - Apparently Angie stays in captivity for quite some time. At least I'll still have breaks to get a drink, change the laundry, etc. There isn't a more fast forward ready story line in any other show I watch.
Kyle, from We Love TV More, and I were talking after the pilot about how you have to earn a character as crazy as Junior is and so far we're just stuck with him. We definitely need to get back story or he needs to be put in jail and out of mind until the dome comes up. Or Barbie can kill him. I'm good with any of these.
I agree with that a lot. Craziness on TV needs to be earned and with him it was too much too soon. It really is my only complaint with Under the Dome, other than that I love it
Agreed. For such a claustrophobic premise, it is working surprisingly well for me. There are enough characters to feel like there is something new to learn for quite some time but not too many that I am confused or overwhelmed. The premise of being trapped with your neighbors in a crisis situation and not being able to get out is classic King. The psychological horror of his works translates well to the small screen even if his monster-based horror sometimes doesn't.
I thought the same thing. I think he mentioned something about the pacemaker in their conversation. However I think the timing was just a coincidence. The pacemaker exploded just as he was about to tell Linda what he knew, yet he happened to go close to the wall just then. Yet I'm sure Big Jim knew that the wall would mess with the pacemaker.
Verdict's still out for me. It may be coincidence or it may be something more sinister. Of course likely it will never come up again so I will forever wonder.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeleteI agree. Could be a number of things that resulted in his obsession and paranoia. I would be surprised if his father wasn't part of it.

ReplyDeleteI'm going to go with a mom story also. He seems like he would have momma trauma in his background.

ReplyDeleteOh lady, Evil Jim has been in control from day one. It wouldn't surprise me if he had something to do with the sheriff's pacemaker.

ReplyDeleteOh no. That will keep up at night with the lights on. Did you get that from reading the book? I wonder if should read it.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read the book yet but apparently people who've seen pictures from much later episodes say Angie's still locked up
ReplyDeleteSPOILER FOR THE BOOK - nothing about what happens on screen with Angie and Junior is following the book supposedly. In the book Junior kills Angie.

ReplyDeleteSo like King to have a sweet girl like Angie killed. Darn it, and we like her so much.
ReplyDeleteHa! It does seem to be a theme with him. It was either that or she had to be psychic somehow.
ReplyDeletehaven't they try digging under the dome?
