  1. I'm going with "trolling us for the lulz" but figured I'd post anyway.

Will most likely be in flashbacks if true.

    Or he's talking about Comic-Con.

  2. you know what.. i dont care how they do it.. more bobby in supernatural is a good thing! fuck yeah!

  3. or kicking the ****** out of Metatron in heaven! ...ok...ok...I know, unlikely, but still an awesome wishful thinking ;) I would still love a scene with Metatron and Bobby in Heaven

I would love for him to return for real but only if it's a reasonable storyline

  5. If it's true I was thinking something along those lines. Maybe they use that Angel might be recurring to talk to Bobby (like Cas did when Dean and Sam went)

    ReplyDelete
  6. YAY!!!!! Bobby is back! :)

    ReplyDelete
  7. Maybe he fell to Earth with the angels. I don't care how they do it. Just bring him back!

    ReplyDelete
  8. All this. I don't freaking care.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Right on. As far as I'm concerned, killing him off was effing stupid to begin with.

You can't really have a good drama without killing off a major character eventually. Sure both Sam and Dean have died dozens of times each but each new time it happens the response shifts from good drama to ordinary scene. Reducing Bobby's role, even if it was temporary, was good for the show as it forced both Sam and Dean to confront their situations.

  11. Yeah, yeah. I get all of that.

that actually seems slightly plausible. he's up there hanging in metatrons territory, metatron is a big bad, bobby is a hunter. hunters either take down the big bad, or die themselves. though dying in heaven seems a little redundant.

  13. Death is cheap as hell in this series

Seriously, god, if this is not a flashback or hallucination, I'm gonna be pissed. This just smells like bad writing and crowd pleasing. And even if they write it in a sensible manner (but really? ...) I would still stretch the suspension of disbelief, it's already tenser than spanx on a whale with the Winchesters and Castiel (who are either celestial beings or vessels for them).

And the worst? I will be cheering when I see him back, I just want to point it out before I get the feels.

  14. wohoo!!!!! can't wait for that episode!!!! :D:D:D:D:D:D

  15. Hopefully this is what saves the show from continuing going downhill since they killed him off in season 7. This was one of my favorite shows on TV at the end of season 5 but it hasn't been the same since the end of that season and has gotten worse each season since. I know I'm probably gonna get a lot of downvotes on this post but I don't really care. This is how I feel about the show at this point and I've been watching since the pilot aired on the WB almost 8 years ago. I've given 8 years of my life to this show so I'm invested at this point to see how it ends. Hopefully it lasts just 2 more seasons and ends with season 10 so I can move on to something else.

  16. Bets! News! EVER!!!!!

  17. Started the morning with a giant woooooooop!!!!!! don't care how or why.....just ....Bobby is back!!

  18. Better be flashbacks

  19. I wish those Supernatural showrunners would understand that characters might have a fanbase because they have an interesting arc, like with character growth, and eventual death maybe, and characters aren't there to just bring 'em back whenever you feel like it or when the actor is available by chance. It doesn't work that way because you lose any sort of fear about losing your favorite characters. What's the point if a show has five tragic deaths or kills off ten people everyone loves in an unexpected way only to bring 'em back every year without any sort of consequence for everyone involved? Even worse, that Taxi Driver episode was a prime example of how to do everything wrong in 45 minutes. "Hey, we should have a Bobby episode!" - "Why, he's dead." - "Yeah, but those fans will love the episode only because he shows up." - "Ah right, forgot about that, but hey, canon makes that somewhat difficult to pull off, wouldn't you say?" - "Canon? What's that, a camera? Make 'em go to hell, even better! And purgatory, and then some!" - "Umm...how...?" - "Do you need me to tell me how to write scripts to please fans? Just do whatever man!" - "If you say so."

  20. Well, let's just hope Sam doesn't just walk upstairs to heaven and gets his soul back like it's a walk in the park. I only want Bobby back if he specifically is absolutely mandatory for the storyline they have planned. Everything else just seems like fan service to me.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I don't care. Cheapens his death

    ReplyDelete
  22. great news to start the day

    ReplyDelete
  23. This is the best news I have heard about SPN in months, the only thing that would be better is Carver is going back to just writing and Eric is coming back as showrunner.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Eric coming back is the only thing that could save the show at this point for me.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I loved Bobby and if it's a flashback or a hallucination or even some shape-shifter taking on his aspect, I'd be okay with that, but to have him back full time, making up some lame excuse to resurrect him again;I don't think would add anything to the show.

Sometimes characters ahould just stay dead, and he had such a great send off too..

    ReplyDelete
  26. The Angels have fallen, this would be a perfect way for him to come back. I am excited, doing my happy dance.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Jim goes on to Tweet: "Read the script. Didn't see this one coming. Whatever you think it is -- it ain't"

    So, that'll keep us guessing!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Crying!!!!!! This is great!!

    ReplyDelete
  29. I couldn't believe it when they killed Bobby off. I keep wanting for him to come back. Loved the episodes he was a ghost. The show hasn't felt right without him it might have been good if garth had been more of full time character but he wasn't in the show anywhere near enough. Pers

    OMG YAY!

  31. poptart_of_doom16 July 2013 at 15:19

not really, imo. they avoided any real conversations between the brothers, had them rely on one off bobby's in the form of frank, and now they've got the mol to replace bobby's endless "just the right book at the right time" library.

so killing bobby was pointless and used for cheap emotional draws and shocking~!!1! reveals.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Well, women seem to stay dead...

I'd be so happy if Meg, Naomi, or Sarah returned.

I thought Bobby was never the same once they made him a father figure instead of a guy with his own life and history who worked with Sam and Dean to get stuff done. I also didn't like the way they'd use him to justify bad writing (telling Dean to "suck it up" over Sam's behavior in season 4).

Jim Beaver's a great actor and I hope they will have good use for him. Even though the episode was poor I did like his return in Taxi Driver. Just no more of the ghost stuff please.

    ReplyDelete
  33. The problem with death on the show is the deaths often have no point either. The last one that really did was John.

Bobby's death was basically a Very Special Episode, no more or less. I didn't feel any change in the show without him, other than a different person telling Dean to repress his feelings, or a different person giving them plot points.

There really was no reason to kill Bobby off to begin with. They should have had him marry Jody, retire in a safe place, and return a few times a season to help the guys.

    ReplyDelete
  34. After the damage he did in season 5 I'd rather he not.

    ReplyDelete
  35. If it's not really Bobby, I have a feeling it's an evil angel taking on his appearance, or Abaddon taking on his appearance.

    ReplyDelete
  36. That is it, exactly. His death served no purpose. The season was low on highlights, so why not kill off a fan favorite, no one will see it coming, hooray! And they at least made one good and one great episode out of this.

I thought Bobby had a fine sendoff, a fine episode to himself at that. And then? All we got after that was the "excitement" of maybe seeing Bobby as a ghost again, oh maybe he'll pop up this week, oh maybe Dean will finally recognize him! Oh, there is he again. It was all sadness and makeshift excitement for the sake of it, not to further any storylines. The boys were not really that much more lost afterwards, but at least they pulled another sideline story into it all.

And Taxi Driver was garbage, there was no reason for Bobby to appear other than because it fit the sensationally dumb storyline of that episode, and his appearance didn't bring anything new to the character we already knew. Just for the sake of "he's available? Well then let's have Bobby!" And now I really don't care at all about his character anymore, because if he's dead or not, he's apparently whatever he needs to be for the next storyline.

But there was so much wrong with last year it's almost no use fixating on the Bobby episode, and I admit that wasn't even the point here ^^ anyway, I agree with you.

    ReplyDelete
  37. For me, season 5 was way better than 8.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I didn't mind the return in Taxi Driver, although it was rushed and the only real thing that moved the story forward was Dean trusting Naomi (so that we'd see she really was good underneath).

I hated the ghost stuff. I thought it was a huge mess, especially when he became "bad."

    ReplyDelete
  39. They had some strong individual episodes, but I didn't like most of the story. Dean just had to get over what happened with Sam, like it was no big deal. Ellen and Jo were killed for some more angst. Lucifer was about as frightening as a kitten and spent most of his time moping. They destroyed Dean's relationships with Sam and Cas and have struggled to rebuild them. The Michael-as-Dean story was dropped for the stuff with Adam, who was just so silly and unbelievable.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I did not like Adam at all, but understood why he was put in the show. They needed Dean to be there to bring Sam back from Lucifer and if he was Michael they would have been fighting. Dean went to Lisa because he promised Sam he would..dying wish kind of thing, but he did try and find a way to get Sam out.

  41. Bobby never should have been killed off.

    ReplyDelete
  42. It was interesting in theory. The execution SUCKED. Not his death episode. That was awesome. I'm referring to the fallout.

The biggest problem however with killing off Bobby in the first place is that the long term re-precautions for the core essence of the show weren't worth the sacrifice.

    ReplyDelete
  43. They could have even gone the soap opera route and put Bobby in a coma. He didn't need to be killed off. His death was completely pointless and unnecessary.

    ReplyDelete
  44. poptart_of_doom16 July 2013 at 19:34

but they didn't even need to do that tho, imo.

think about it. dean never said yes to michael, michael's vessel was put out of the picture by castiel before the fighting even started. which means given the story we saw... michael, and by association his vessel, wasn't even necessary to the way swan song went. which means adam as a vessel served no purpose other than to allow for a 1-2 minute back and forth between lucifer and michael... which was just a rehash of what had been said in previous episodes. they didn't even fight ffs.

everything minus the adam bit could've unfolded the same but instead of dean doing the fake out in the green room, they had him do that in the cemetery. commence the ending act happening the same.

Best news ever! I've miss Bobby and Jim sooo freaking much. I needed this so badly. But I swear it better be Bobby, no tricks, no AU, just back for good. his boys need him.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I think they made a terrible mistake having Bobby killed off. He brought so much balance to the show that it now lacks. I believe it has gotten better over the last half of the season but I miss Bobby!

I been waiting for this, never let it sink in that Bobby was gone. I hope it is for good and not in the flashback or he dosen't get resurrected to be like a zombie. Maybe Crowley brings him back? or Bobby was never gone to start with? can't wait for his return, not temporary! :)

    ReplyDelete
  48. All for more Meg. She and Crowley were the only ones who added intelligent humor to the mix.

Anyway, the rule book's out the window now. The writers will surely have no culpability now.

    ReplyDelete
  49. You forgot that Crowley had turned Hell into "endless queuing"! :)

The only thing I can say is... nobody forces you to keep watching the show. If you really feel the show is that bad, you should already start moving on. I don't mean to be disrespectful, but the way you say it sounds like you regret investing 8 years of your life to this show. It sounds over dramatic because that's been your decision and yours alone. I don't think I would ever complain about a show. I didn't like what they did with Grey's Anatomy and I just stopped watching it, as simple as that. The one who turns the TV on or off is me. See my point? Have a nice day! :)

    ReplyDelete
  51. I'm gonna be 32 next month and I've invested a quarter of my life into this show so if I think it's not as good as it use to be I have every right to do so. Watching a show for so long I feel I'm committed to see how it ends at this point. There's 3 shows that have been on for awhile that I think their quality has gone down in recent years Supernatural, Bones and True Blood and if that's my opinion I have every to say so. There's shows life It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia, Dexter, Sons of Anarchy, Californication and even though it ended last year Weeds that has stayed good throughout it's entire run so why can't other shows do the same.
