Scene Of The Week - July 1, 2013 - *POLL*

1 Jul 2013

A weekly feature in which we're trying to find most compelling, best acted, written, directed and just generally great scenes that we've seen recently.

*It's a day later, but the article still covers only the episodes from 23-29 June*

BABY DADDY, "Ben's Big Gaycare Adventure", June 26, 2013, Actors: Chelsea Kane, Lacey Chabert
The Scene: Riley and Amy talk about Danny
Klutzy Girl:
The scene where Riley's talking to Amy about how well she knows Danny really highlights how much Riley/Danny belong together. They know everything about each other and he even came up with a holiday to cheer her up!

FALLING SKIES, "At All Costs", June 23, 2013
The Scene: The plane crash
Sharon Seymour:
The end scene of the plane and spaceship chase ending in the plan crashing

FRANKLIN AND BASH, "Good Lovin", June 26, 2013, Actor: Kumail Nanjiani
The Scene: Pindar in the hotel room
Robin Smyth:
Germaphobe Pindar with the blacklight in the hotel room

GRACELAND, "Pizza Box", June 27, 2013, Actors: Aaron Tveit, Daniel Sunjata
The Scene: Mike and Briggs at the end
Klutzy Girl:
The scene in the kitchen after Mike witnesses the suicide. He honestly didn't want it to happen and I'm glad Briggs was there to comfort him just a little. The silent crying after Briggs left really got to me and Aaron showed so much emotion in that scene.

PRETTY LITTLE LIARS, "Cat's Cradle", June 25, 2013, Actors: Tyler Blackburn, Roark Critchlow
The Scene: Caleb tracks down Mr. Marin
Jamie Coudeville:
I've never liked Hanna's dad, so I love Caleb for calling him out on his crappy parenting.

RIZZOLI & ISLES, "We Are Family", June 25, 2013, Actors: Angie Harmon, Sasha Alexander
The Scene: Jane and Maura spy on Maura's kidney
Jamie Coudeville:
This was so hilarious. I've missed this show.

ROYAL PAINS, "Lawson Translation", June 26, 2013, Actors: Mark Feuerstein, Callum Blue, Mark Ivanir
The Scene: Dmitri's death
A Dahne:
Milos stabs Dmitri and he dies in Hank's arms.

TEEN WOLF, "Unleashed", June 24, 2013, Actors: Tyler Hoechlin, Adelaide Kane, Daniel Sharman, Max Carver, Charlie Carver, Crystal Reed
The Scenes: Cora yells at Derek & Isaac gets back at the twins & Isaac and Allison trapped in the closet
Klutzy Girl:
The scene where Cora yells at Derek. I don't like that she did it at all, but the pain on Derek's face when he apologizes for disappointing her hurts. Aside from Peter, this is his only family left! He probably feels like hurt and broken like this all the time.
Jamie Coudeville: Isaac gets back at the twins by driving his bike into the school - I loved this scene, couldn't help but laughing.
Diana Mack: Isaac and Allison trapped into the closet of the school... it was a dark scene full of tension that gave me shivers.

TRUE BLOOD, "The Sun", June 23, 2013, Actor: Deborah Ann Woll
The Scene: Jessica's prayer
Justyna Kubica:
Truth be told, I'm still catching up on many episodes I've missed last week. But from what I've already seen this is the scene that made the biggest impression on me. To see a vampire praying... not a thing you get to watch often. Especially praying with such honesty, sadness and desperation like Jessica. It was nice to see the glimpses of our main characters and hearing some good wishes for them when the things are going so badly. Also, the scene's a great chance for the very talented Deborah Ann Woll to shine on the show. She's really one of its brightest stars.

UNDER THE DOME, "Pilot", June 24, 2013, Actors: Mike Vogel, Colin Ford
The Scene: Barbie and Joe after the plane crash & The Dome coming down
A Dahne:
Beginning scene with Barbie and Joe when the plane crashes and they stop the fire truck. It even has the best line of the night. Joe: "What if the government built this thing?" Barbie: "I doubt it." Joe: "Why?" Barbie: "Cause it works." Ha!
Sharon Seymour: The Dome coming down and cutting the cow in half.

WAREHOUSE 13, "Lost & Found", June 24, 2013, Actors: Eddie McClintock, Joanne Kelly
The Scene: Myka tells Pete she has cancer
Robin Smyth:
Pete's genuine reaction to Myka telling him she has cancer.
A Dahne: Myka tells Pete that she has cancer.

  11. Agreed. The whole last 15 minutes showed that this was not going to be a typical USA Network show. I hope they follow through on the consequences watching Eddie die has on Mike.

  12. WH13 when Myka tells Pete she has cancer. I'm glad they didn't drag that out..

Both scenes when the dome came down.I had a good chuckle over that and a little cringe with the cow.

  13. Not only did Mike see his death, but also he killed himself with his gun. There is no way it doesn't have impact on him and I can't wait to see it.

  14. Good point. It should be interesting to see how it changes Mike as a person and an agent. I am equally interested in seeing if it makes Mike and Briggs closer and thus makes his mission more difficult.

  15. I wasn't a fan of the cow being sliced in two either. I much preferred the next scene where we saw the characters reacting to the dome coming down. However there were some great special effects throughout the episode. The cow was too gross for me.
