I have only watched the pilot episode of PoI, but the story sounded very unrealistic (!) and without a logic chain of events, which made it very hard to follow. Does that change on the course of the season? Is it worth watching?
It's DEFINITELY worth watching. I guess it might have sounded a bit unrealistic, but I think it's because at the beginning there are just so many things we don't know yet. There ARE a lot of things going on, but I don't really think it's so hard to follow once you watch more episodes and kinda catch the rhythm of the show.
Anyway, it's a very fascinating story and honestly, I have to admit I never expected to like it so much, but at some point, back in season 1, I just couldn't stop watching and now it's one of my favorites.
There is a complex chain of events that transpired before Finch and Reese met, in both their lives. It's all logical and it makes more and more sense as the backstory is revealed, a little at a time.
We are flooded with a lot of information in the pilot episode through Finch's exposition, and that's really all we need to follow the weekly stories.
The show does provide background stories in frequent doses and by the end of season two, the entire organization and working of the machine and machine related relevant ops is revealed to be a lot messier than we even imagined. They provide a LOT of detail about every small thing machine related so it's not really confusing. It just makes for a really entertaining, smart and intricate thriller.
Definitely worth watching. It's one of the best shows on TV right now.
Yeah I totally agree. I think anything that seemed unrealistic is now well, you know lol. The first half of season 1 does start off kind of slow, but the episode Get Carter is where the serialization starts. You really should check it out. It's a great show.

NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
For those outside the US who can't watch I'm just uploading them to our video host, keep checking back.

ReplyDeleteAwesome panel. The only problem was that it was too short. Can't wait for season 3.
