Sure the "Hell yeah, it's Friday" line is a bit hokey, but pairing Dracula and Grim on one night and using the "Hell" tag to denote the supernatural aspects is okay with me. ABC had its TGIF night for years. Why can't NBC have a HYIF night?
Agreed. Not my thing either really, but I like that they are doing something to connect the two shows. It seems like the start of an official campaign we will see at the beginning of the Fall season. I like that.
I like the Friday line, it's no different than FOX's Fringe campaign. And with Grimm being on Fridays I'm sure they're just trying to stress it will be on the same night.
Hopefully this show does well, even if it's just the one 10 episode season, I'd love to NBC do more limited series in the future.
I think it was smart. Grimm fans have been complaining that it never gets a compatible show and it connects Dracula to one of NBC's few successes. Win-win.
I still have mixed feelings about the show. I might DVDR it and watch all at once just for 'the heck of it'! --But I think this is pretty nice marketing on NBC's part.
And personally I think it's a justifiable argument. I don't mind the making him sympathetic if it was approached like a whole new vampire story. But I think trying to milk the "Dracula" franchise name while changing the Stroker story that way is a cheap trick to get people to tune it. Doesn't mean the show won't be good though. It just won't be "Dracula" that's all.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
''Hell yeah, it's friday!''
ReplyDeleteReally?
I think I like it.. and the Grimm Poster...

It just feels so cheesy and dated.
ReplyDeleteMeh, but "meh" is way better than the cast promo pics they released. They were hedious.
ReplyDeleteAgreed.

Why do I always see negative comments about this show? Am I missing something?
ReplyDeleteI like the continuity here and I really hope the pairing works well. It will be the first time Grimm has a compatible lead out.
ReplyDeleteThey are revamping the Dracula legend to make him the sympathetic hero and including Van Helsing as a partner. That twist makes people skeptical.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely agree. In this case, less detail was a whole lot better.

ReplyDeleteTrue, those were really bad.
ReplyDeleteI'm waiting to see how people like it before giving it a shot, there are already more than enough new and old shows to watch this fall. :)
ReplyDeleteFair enough. :)
ReplyDeleteAll me to third this. It was literally my first though when I clicked on the link.
ReplyDeleteAll I could think was "please don't be like the promo shots!"
You have seen the cast promo pics though right?

ReplyDeleteYa. They remind me of Immortal Beloved or The Age of Innocents, but I was just commenting on the theme sharing idea with pairing it with Grimm.
ReplyDeleteCross-promoting the night totally works, I couldn't agree more.
ReplyDelete(I got what you were referring to BTW, I was just kidding)
Oh!! LOL! XD
ReplyDeleteNot your fault... my distinct "wit" doesn't come through in writing! ;-P
ReplyDeleteSorry about that! :D
