The Emmy nominations will be presented on Thursday, July 18th so we'll be posting a series of polls to see who you'd like to see being nominated.

Today we kick off with two of the most popular categories: Lead Actor & Actress in a Drama Series. You can choose up to six people in each category.

For comparison here are last year's nominees:

Damian Lewis (Homeland) - Winner
Steve Buscemi (Boardwalk Empire)
Michael C. Hall (Dexter)
Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad)
Hugh Bonneville (Downton Abbey)
Jon Hamm (Mad Men)

Claire Danes (Homeland) - Winner
Julianna Margulies (The Good Wife)
Michelle Dockery (Downton Abbey)
Elisabeth Moss (Mad Men)
Kathy Bates (Harry's Law)
Glenn Close (Damages)

88 comments:

  1. Julianna Margulies or Vera Farmiga.

  2. I hope Bryan Cranston wins but I think Matthew Rhys is going home with the award this year.
In my opinion Claire Danes should take the award this year too since Tatiana Maslany isn't nominated.

  3. I do think it is a very good show and I do want to see all 7 seasons but we can't leave behind the procedural-ish nature of the show. Hugh Dancy was very good in the show's first season but IMO Matthew Rhys or Bryan Cranston are going home with the award this year.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Hugh Dancy and Vera Farmiga FTW!!

    ReplyDelete
  5. You picked Julie Benz from Defiance and forgot about Tatiana Maslany from Orphan Black? I won't even waste my time commenting how bad those lists are.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Actor: Bryan Cranston - Breaking Bad. Obvs.
Actress: Tatiana Maslany - Orphan Black. Should get a thousand Emmy's for her role.

    ReplyDelete
  7. I have been wanting for spoilertv to do this for a while now but, no offense, theses lists are ridiculous.

  8. Anyway, my picks would be:

    Best Drama Actor [No Order]:
Andrew Lincoln - The Walking Dead
    Damien Lewis - Homeland
    Michael C. Hall - Dexter
    Matthew Rhys - The Americans
    Kevin Bacon - The Following
Kevin Spacey - House of Cards

    Best Drama Actress [No Order]:
Juliana Marguiles - The Good Wife
    Tatiana Maslany - Orphan Black
    Keri Russel - The Americans
    Claire Danes - Homeland
    Kerry Washington - Scandal
    Emily Van Camp - Revenge

Disclaimer: I don't watch Mad Men, Breaking Bad, Hannibal or Justified.

    ReplyDelete
  9. I agree 100% (but I have been saying this for some seasons now, although this was her best). She is actually my pick to win. But her category is supporting, not lead

    ReplyDelete
  10. Why isn't Jennifer Carpenter on the list?

    ReplyDelete
  11. How can you even say the list is ridiculous when you don't even watch half the shows? And of course nominating Emily VanCamp isn't ridicluolus? And most of your picks are in the polls anyway so I don't see your point.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Lead actor: Nathan Fillion
    Lead actress: Stana Katic

    ReplyDelete
  13. I picked Dancy for Actor but for actress Tatiana Maslany of Orphan Black is missing and that is a crime.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Kerry Washington (Scandal) and Jonny Lee Miller (Elementary)

although it saddens me to admit, they probably won't win, i'd be happy if they were at least nominated. both were fantastic this year, particularly Washington.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Matthew Rhys and Keri Russell are my choice, they've done a fab job in The Americans

  22. Natalia Schmidt26 June 2013 at 17:21

I'd love to vote for Mads Mikkelsen in Hannibal

    ReplyDelete
  23. She's submitted for supporting actress.

    ReplyDelete
  24. John Noble is supporting

    ReplyDelete
  25. Lana Parilla is supporting

    ReplyDelete
  26. I agree. Not for the win, but they both deserve nominations.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I am too pulling for a Kerry Washington nomination, she is amazing

    ReplyDelete
  28. Hear hear on Tatiana missing

    ReplyDelete
  29. Just because you disagree that Emily Van Camp should be included does not mean that my opinions are not valid just because she is there, deal with it. Also, you don't even include for instance Juliana Marguiles, which has won two years ago and has been nominated since the show began? And you put Sarah Wayne Callies for The Walking Dead but no Andrew Lincoln? Kevin Bacon and Kevin Spacey are also missing. And even though I don't watch Mad Men, making a list without considering John Ham as a candidate is just asking not to be taken serious... Tatiana Maslany, Connie Britton (and I don't watch Nashville), Robin Wright are all also missing from the list of potential nominees. And I didn't even bring in the long shots

    ReplyDelete
  30. There is still hope for Tatiana to be nominated... We'll see if the Emmys do it right

    ReplyDelete
  31. The entire cast of Game of Thrones submits as supporting if I am not mistaken

    ReplyDelete
  32. Yeah Anna Torv did not submit herself for consideration this year

    ReplyDelete
  33. I am actually not sure if Tony Goldwyn submits himself as supporting or lead, I would guess only Kerry goes as lead, but I could be wrong.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I agree that he should have won for the earlier seasons, but I think he put one of his best performances this year as the writing got crazy good again and he delivered as always.

    ReplyDelete
  35. They have done an excellent job with their subtle performances as Philip and Elizabeth. I would love for them to get recognition.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I did not know that the show itself was not eligible. Why is that?

    ReplyDelete
  37. I def agree with you. He was amazing last season. As well as Jennifer. I do hope tho he can win for this next season. He deserves one for all the great work he did on Dexter.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I am not sure about winning this season since competition is completely crazy. I think I would give it to Lincoln but honestly, I would be thrilled if Michael C. Hall won as well. I don't see him having the buzz to do it now though... Jennifer, I just pray that she is nominated. It is a crime that it still hasn't happened.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Tatiana Maslany = Orphan Black
    Hugh Dancy = Hannibal

  43. My choices for Best Actress Nominees (1= favorite):
    1.Tatiana Maslany: Orphan Black**
    2. Kerri Russell: The Americans
    3. Kerry Washington: Scandal
    4. Emily Rose: Haven
    5. Michelle Dockery: Downton Abbey
    6. Claire Danes: Homeland

    Choices for Best Actor:

    1. Matthew Rhys: The Americans
    2. Tony Goldwyn: Scandal
    3. Simon Baker: The Mentalist
    4. Damian Lewis: Homeland
    5. Hugh Dancy: Hannibal
    6. Michael C. Hall: Dexter

***I just caught up on the entire season of Orphan Black this month and I'm completely blown away by the ability of the lead actress, Tatiana, to portray so many different characters effectively. By far, the most impressive TV acting I've seen this year. Matthew Rhys really impressed me in the Americans. He would be my top choice. BTW, Vera Farmiga is a terrific actress... I haven't watched Bates Motel, but I'm sure she's great in it.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Seriously. She deserves practically every award under the sun this year!

  48. Jared Padalecki, Supernatural. But we all know that genre TV on the CW might as well not exist.

  49. Robin Tunney (The Mentalist) for Lead Actress.

    ReplyDelete
  50. HUGH DANCY obviously :)

    ReplyDelete

please vote4 simon i am worrying about him<3

    ReplyDelete
  53. Lead Actress: Kerry Washington of Scandal!!

    ReplyDelete
  54. I'd add Stana Katic of Castle and Nathan Fillion of Castle to the lists. Fillion was awesome in the two parter they did in February. Katic's performance in the season opener was so nuanced.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Tatiana Maslany is the only option. I think they could fill the category with just her different characters.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Michael c hall rules fucking bitches

  70. YES! Lead and Supporting. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  71. Other- Tatiana Maslany!!!

    ReplyDelete
  72. Sadly Anna didn't submit herself this year, John Noble did in supporting actor but that is a tough category to get nominated in.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Let's hope indeed!

    ReplyDelete
  74. Anna Torv isn't eligible.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Aden Young (Rectify) and Tatiana Maslany (Orphan Black)

    ReplyDelete
  76. Hmm, I don't watch any of these shows, so I guess I'll go with "Other".

    ReplyDelete
  77. Leeanne Hansen8 April 2014 at 06:18

    BRYAN CRANSTON!

    ReplyDelete
  78. I went with Bryan Cranston and Vera Farmiga. But seriously, Simon Baker is almost winning in this poll? He's not a bad actor but meh.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Jennifer Carpenter (Dexter) should get nominated me thinks. I didn't like her character at all the first seasons but Jennifer have truly acted so brilliantly I like Debra better than Dexter these days. And from the sneak peaks of the coming season - she's awesome!

    ReplyDelete
  80. No Jon Hamm this time?

    ReplyDelete
  81. Panos Nestoras8 April 2014 at 06:20

Well there is no way i would choose any one other than Bryan Cranston to win but i would also really like to see Matthew Rhys nominated as well as Hugh Dancy among the usual nominations.. In the lead actress category my top choices would be Claire Danes, Vera Farmiga and Kerri Russel and i would be happy if either Farmiga or Russel win.. Oh and i would definitely want to see Tatiana Maslany nominated..

    ReplyDelete
  82. Mark HArmon best actor NCIS Best supporting actor NCIS David McCallum

    ReplyDelete
  83. June 1, 2012 - May 31, 2013

Tatiana is eligible and on the ballot, but Orphan Black as a show isn't.

    ReplyDelete
  84. Hugh Dancy (Hannibal) definitely. His acting was good before but he's really proven himself on the show.

    ReplyDelete
  85. Pablo Troncoso8 April 2014 at 06:38

    I voted other in both:

    Lead actor: Tony Goldwyn- Scandal

Lead actress: Emily Van Camp- Revenge
