  3. i dont know if this is a stupid question, but does anyone think that the cow was killed in real life too ?

    ReplyDelete
  4. Yea, I'm sure they cut a cow in half for that scene.

    ReplyDelete
  5. but they arent allowed to harm animals for tv in todays tv shows before on hbo maybe but now they have laws to protect animals from being harmed while filming tv and movies.

  6. I'm sure b3rt4 was kidding!

    ReplyDelete
  7. ok, one part of me was thinking that b3rt4 was being ironic.

  8. Ewww, the second preview should come with a warning label. Other than that, I am very excited about this show.

  9. No they didn't really kill the cow. It's all CGI. B3rt4 is being sarcastic. There are animal protection guidelines in Hollywood just like actor ones.

  10. Definitely. I already know who I am rooting against in this show.

  11. totally agree I saw the other way as soon as I realized what happened.

  12. yeah while i was writing the question down, one part of me also was thinking what you said, since i know there are animal protection laws. :)

  13. i just hate it when i watch a good tv show or a movie and a animal, any animal is hurt. :)

  14. One part of you is a moron.

  15. Just assume that no animal is ever harmed in the making of a TV show or movie. Not only is it not allowed but it would also be a publicity nightmare. Wouldn't ever happen. I guess the exception could be reality TV if something accidentally happened while they were shooting. I'm not sure how that works.

  16. I have a feeling there will be a lot of times when I need to look away on this show. I don't handle gross well.

  17. ok, i know that deep inside but i stil always get annoyed if for an example a favourite character strangles a cat. (the shield )

  18. Oh man,i knew the cow would be cut in half but i didn't think SLICED like that...

  19. I empathize. Sometimes show runners have characters do things that are so hard to come back from.

  20. on the shield Detective Holland Wagenbach was my favourite character until he strangled a cat in season 3, i never had him as a favourite character again.i just it it when i have a favourite character in many episodes or seasons and then.. they do something that i will never forgive them for.

  21. There was a character that I really looked up to who was practically raped and then later she fell in love with her attacker. Some people thought it was romantic but I could never stomach that relationship and it colored the entire show for me. Made it very hard to watch.

  22. I feel your pain, my friend. Y'all have no idea how much I cried when that dog died in I Am Legend.

    ReplyDelete
  23. i dont watch many movies but that scene i think i remember watching sicne i watched that movie.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Ugh, just thinking about that makes me cringe! I hate stuff like that, it can really ruin a show for me.

  25. Sometimes I don't think show runners really think through what they are having their characters do. They do something for shock value or move the plot in a different direction but they don't think of how that will affect long-term viewers who have already established a connection to the characters.

    ReplyDelete
  26. It was even worse because that was the main character's only friend, only connection for years.

  27. As long as a show obeys the animal cruelty laws/take safety precautions, if an animal dies by accident they would not be in trouble.

Ex. A racehorse breaks a leg and has to be put down while filming a TV show drama about racing (this has actually happened).

It would definitely get negative publicity though by people against horse racing in the first place.

  28. 2nd one is messed up. CGI sick.

  29. I have a family member that watches soap operas and she likes a couple that had a woman falling for her attacker as well because she got pregnant with his kid.

I was totally shocked and thought WTH? That is not right.

    ReplyDelete
  30. As far as I know it all started with Luke and Laura on General Hospital. I never watched that show but I remember all the hoopla when they got married. All I could think was how sick the whole concept was.

  31. I was thinking more about shows that bait animals to do things or survival shows where they kill animals for food. I think they have a lot more leniency because they are supposed to be about reality, although that in itself is highly questionable.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Bait animals?

Yeah the reality shows killing wildlife, I see what you mean. Since it is done for survival I guess they see it as a necessary thing even if it's a set up situation.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I'm sure they can do whatever they want in some foreign countries and I think that's part of the reason why a lot of reality shows (that aren't singing and trashy sub-level celebs) are filmed elsewhere. My guess is public opinion is a much bigger factor than codes of ethics. For instance I thought I heard that a reality show ended up not using a bull fight because of fear of a public outcry.

Mostly when I see baiting animals it's things like poking at snakes to get them in better camera position or make them show their fangs/tongues/rattles. I've also seen people do some questionable stuff with alligators to get the right video shot.
