Yikes, yesterday's polls were a mess for me as almost every quote I can't stand made it into round 2. Should make that round very interesting. Again there were some close votes. Dean's "Am I boring you with this hunting evil thing?" lost by 5 votes. Dean calling out John on never answering the phone got 45% of its vote as did his comment about taking down the shapeshifter posing as him. Today another 16 quotes will fall by the wayside and then we will only have 2 more sets to end round 1. Thanks everyone for voting and commenting. Sorry I haven't commented as much myself but real life is pressing in hard. Happy voting!

Poll 17 - Dean saying he won't let Sam turn into a monster is one of the few things I liked about When the Levee Breaks, but it's up against the apple pie. You've gotta go with pie. Dean mandates it.
ReplyDeletePoll 18 - As much as I love short and sweet, I'm going to have to go with Dean's hangover cure here. It was such a brother thing to do.
Poll 19 - Bwah for both these quotes. Tacos are my favorite Dean death in Mystery Spot, but the dead ragging on Kansas and Tessa explaining that Dean is new gets me every time.
Poll 20 - Sam's "Just cuz" speech is one of the best in the series. It will take more than 600 years of bad luck to beat it.
Poll 21 - Oh you have got to be kidding me. These rankings hate me. Both of these quotes are made of gold. After much struggle, it's Bobby's family quote because that's what this whole show is about and Bobby, Dean, and Sam were family.
Poll 22 - I liked the hellfire quote so much I got it on a tote bag. It definitely gets my vote.
Poll 23 - There's a reason why Tuesdays make me smile. This quote is it. While I like the vampire quote, it doesn't make me like vampires more.
Poll 24 - Yikes this one is hard. Love them both, but given that Sarah got screwed over in season 8, I'll throw my vote to her.
Poll 25 - Buffy is pretty awesome, but Dean is the most awesome big brother ever so winner - Dean.
ReplyDeletePoll 26 - Some people had real trouble with Dean joking about hell so soon after going there. I'm not one of them. That line about Mary being a babe makes me chortle. The other quote has more emotional depth than it seems but doesn't quite compare to the second one.
Poll 27 - I don't care how awesome the Dean vs. LuciferSam in Detroit scene was, the "fudgin'" line is classic Supernatural to me, one of my top 10 lines.
Poll 28 - While I appreciate the sentiment in Born Under a Bad Sign, it just reminds me of what a jerk JOhn was. I prefer the laughter the brothers share after Sam gets Gordon arrested. That's my kind of brother moment. They don't get to laugh near enough.
Poll 29 - No contest - Swayze. Not only was that a great quote but it also stopped the umpteenth Sam and John fight. That's a quote with power.
Poll 30 - Aw, again I like both of these. Season 1 snark is snark at its best and I would vote for it over "Pudding" anyday. But then they had to add "Crazy work," which is a phrase I also use in real life now. Got to give my vote to that one.
Poll 31 - It's Baby Love vs. Jefferson Starships and they both rock. These rankings still suck out loud. Will have to make a decision towards the end.
Poll 32 - Have to agree with Dean here. That painting was truly awful I have no idea why anyone would buy that much less put it up in their home. It gets my vote.

This one did have a lot of great snarky lines. I think that's why I like these a whole lot better than yesterday's winners.
ReplyDeleteFor me, if context is required to make the quote quotable it's good dialog but it's not a quote.
ReplyDeleteIn many ways I agree with you. I struggled lot with what to call this contest because in many cases what was nominated was dialogue or even scenes not a quote. I couldn't come up with anything concise so I left it as quote.
