Our second set of polls where a little closer than the first with only a few votes separating the winners in several cases. The closest was the Meg-Cas "pizza man" exchange which lost by 6 votes. Next closest were Dean's threatening to shoot Dwayne in Croatoan and Sam's bikini inspector line in Something Wicked, which each lost by 7 votes. Yesterday's polls took us through 1/4 of round one. Today's polls should be interesting because they include some of my favorite and some of my least favorite lines in the entire series. Happy voting!

Poll 33: I love both of these quotes and quite frankly I would for them above most in the polls today. However since I can only choose one, my vote goes to "I lsot my shoe," one of my absolute favorite Sam quotes of all.

Poll 35: Again 2 lines I adore. I'll wait to vote on this one because while I think Dean's "I'm adorable will win," I want to make sure that the idiocy of the Ghostfacers gets a shout out too.
Poll 36: I DETEST all things Wincest. Even the hint of Wincest. This is the absolute worst quote of the contest to me. Andy is always a winner but this time it wouldn't have mattered. I'd vote for some random extra saying their ABC's over the first quote.
Poll 37: Yeah John's demand for Dean to get Sammy out is classic and mytharc and all that good stuff. But it's not funny and that Phantom Traveler line is one of my favorites. I recently had to sit through 3 days of 7 Habits training and the entire time I was thinking "Stow the touchy-feely, self-help yoga cr**." It may not go far in this contest but it most definitely gets my vote.
Poll 38: Easiest poll of them all. I absolutely adore Dean's, "I think you p** off my sandwich." It was a fabulous funny moment and Drugged Dean was hilarious. This is in my top 5 quotes of season 7. On the other hand, the fourth kind quote is on my worst lines ever list. I've hated it since the first time RoboSam uttered it. It is very sad that it's going to beat such a superior quote.
Poll 39: The battle of 2 Sam speeches. For me the earlier ones were always better. For one, I believed them and I can't say that for anything that came out of their mouths in season 8. What I love about the AHBL quote is that Sam is taking charge to save his brother. He acknowledges that Dean grew up taking care of Sam but that does not in any way mean that Sam doesn't feel just as strongly about saving Dean. Love it.
Poll 40: I was never a fan of the priest costumes and Sam finally confessing that he has visions was a major moment in the series. It was heartfelt and scary for him, but he did it to save lives. In other words, it was a complete Winchester moment.
Poll 41: That scarecrow was absolutely terrifying to me. Fugly didn't even come close to describing it. This is another classic season 1 quote and those will get my vote 90% of the time. Although I liked Lucifer a whole lot better in season 7 than season 5, this was more of an average quote for me. The better ones come at the beginning of the season and 2 episodes after this one.
ReplyDeletePoll 42: Definitely Sam telling Bobby that they have to save the Impala because by doing so Sam feels like there is hope to save Dean. One of the best Sam and Bobby moments and one of the few times I get teary eyed while watching SPN. Plus it gives Baby her due. Not to say that I don't like the bunny quote because it's awesome. It just went up against the wrong quote.
Poll 43: Ugh the emoansting in that last quote. We all know the emoangsty ones are going to go far and the contest is going to get depressing around the third round, but this even more emo than usual. Give me the smart, funny quip any day. "Obi-Wan-ed me" for the win.
Poll 44: The swimming pool quite is one of the best uses of meta in Supernatural, but my vote goes to Faith. Dean being snarky and Sam just barely holding it together. The whole scene was amazing.
Poll 45: "Walking encyclopedia of weirdness" is one of my go to quotes for everyday life. It's a definite vote over Meg-Possessed Sam for me.
Poll 46: Ugh, two of THE BEST quotes in the whole contest and they're going against each other. This one will have to be a later vote. I'm hoping for a tie and they can both go on.
Poll 47: While I adore Crowley snark and his telling Cas he would be delighted to help him die, the Snuggle fabric softener bear quote actually created an online game during hiatus in the early years. You can't beat that.
Poll 48: I like both quotes but the contrast between Dean and Sam and how that shapes their brother bond is too cute to pass up here. Brother banter at its best.

I agree and next year just will NOT be the same without her. No one has done more for Supernatural fans. Keeping us mostly sane this time of year. ;) I am still hoping curiosity will kill this cat and she will come back. The ones I have dropped have been within the first 5 years, usually in the second, if not in the first couple eps. I could not leave SPN now and not know if it got better. lol It HAS to get better, it can only go UP. LOL See positive thinking.

Sam's speech here was so heartfelt. the season eight one sounds nice but there are just not the same emotions behind it thanks to Carver, IMO!

I just wanted to add my admiration for the work Dahne puts in for SPN. I hope season nine turns the show around and makes her love it again. :)
I think why I like "I lost my show" so much is that it is made complete by both brothers. The way Sam says it and Dean's reaction to it. The same thing goes for "I'm Batman" from the same episode. It would not be funny without Sam's reaction.

ReplyDeleteDean's head shake in BDaBR always makes me think he used that expression a lot as he was taking care of Sam growing up, and that's what makes the line for me. On the other hand, Sam deadpan look about Batman cracks me up far more than Dean's glee.

ReplyDeleteI do feel bad about the Obi-wan quote losing in its poll. It's one of the best in the whole series for me, and I also like better the quote in ELaC than the one beating it. There are a lot of polls where I'm gong with the loser pick, but the only one I really feel bad about is the great "He Obi-waned me"
ReplyDeleteThere's always one or two quotes that I am sad about losing so quickly. For me this time, "I think you p** off my sandwich." is my big one but the Obi-Wan one stings too.
