I'm assuming Arrow and TVD will get the same extension by one episode as well. It also won't surprise me if HoD manages to get 24. It'd be much more possible (and easier to handle) than the other three.

  4. Arrow's writers already confirmed 23 episodes too.

  5. 23 is fine for me. Season 8 was awesome and season 9 will rocks.

  6. Hopefully they will use them to move the story forward instead of eps like Bitten and other fillers.

    I hope there will be a Season 10 after S9 :) Can´t wait for it <3

  8. Completely agree about not having as many filler episodes. On a side note, while I didn't like at all Bitten, I am glad they took a risk and made a very different type of episode.

  9. A different type of ep would be The French Mistake, or What Is And What Should Never Be, but to waste an ep on that was awful. Did anyone even care about these people? I did not time it, but bet the Js were not in it more than 10 minutes. If the ep had been about someone we knew it would have been different, I loved Weekend at Bobbys. Anyway off my soapbox. lol

  10. If the ratings for season 9 are good I don't see why their wouldn't be a season 10.

  11. The ratings would have to fall by half into the 0.4 range for Supernatural not to get a season 10. They will see their 200th episode.

  12. Risks are just that risks. Sometimes they work out and sometimes they don't (Bitten obviously didn't work out, French Mistake, WIAWHNB, Weekend at Bobby's did) -- using Buffy as an example, Joss Whedon played around with background music in two very different episodes 1 where Buffy's mom dies where no background music is played throughout the episode and 2 when the silence invade Sunnydale and the entire episode is background music. I thought both episodes where well done and brought alot to the emotional aspect of the show.

The French Mistake and What Is and What Should Never Be played with the Boy's world. Weekend at Bobby's was supposed to connect the audience to Bobby and fill in a missing gap. I think that Bitten was suppose to connect the audience to the Supernatural mundane world or Supernatural monster world, but in reality just bored the audience for 45 minutes. Again, I didn't like the episode, but I am glad they took a risk and broke the typical Winchesters go into a town, see a dead body, Sam and Dean research/ask questions, Sam and Dean go fight the monster, Sam gets knocked out/tied up, Dean kills said monster and rescues Sam. I hope they continue to take risks (hopefully better ones).

  13. I am so with you on the "hopefully better ones". lol

  14. I think this time if they have an episode light on the brothers they might focus more on an established character (Crowley, Cas, maybe someone like Charlie or Kevin).

  16. Sweet! The more SPN, the merrier!

  17. Woohoo! More episodes to enjoy in a season which I am sure will have many surprises along the way. Any idea when filming begins for the boys? Is Jensen directing again this upcoming season?

  18. I wonder what they'll do for their 200th. I'd like to see something off the wall, like Stargate SG-1 did. I mean, why not? I really loved that ep, though. Because it was just so cracked out.

  19. It should be the 5th episode of season 10 if I've counted correctly, so they could do anything with it. It won't be needed to set up the season mytharc so they can go standalone or mytharc. My guess is that it will be a serious episode though like Point of No Return. Unless it's an actual clip show.

  20. Better not be a clip show.

  21. I know Misha is directing an ep. From what I understand, unless Jensen is offered an ep later in the year, he's not directing this season. At one of the con's he said he definitely wouldn't be directing early in the year, because he didn't want to cut his time off short...with the new baby and all.

I think filming last year began in August sometime, didn't it?

  22. I agree. I'm not objecting to a Winchester-lite episode, but with this show, it'd work better with characters we're already familiar with. People have mentioned the Bobby episode as working, where "Bitten" didn't.

  23. Fourteen episodes would be enough until they deep six the bottom end of the writing talent pool.

They didn't do anything special for the 100th episode or the 150th so I really do hope they actually take the time to do something special for the 200th episode.
