Help us pick the 2012-2013 Season award categories
Everyone always has the best and worst awards (us included). But the Podcast team always like to change things up and as well as having the usual categories (listed below) we like to have some categories that are always missed or you feel should be covered. What we would like you guys to do is pick some categories you would like us to discuss on the next podcast. You can leave them in the comments below or contact us using the details below. The more interesting the better.

Oh, were we not meant to give nominees? I totally read the part about suggesting categories, and definitely didn't spend 25 minutes thinking about the answers to those categories.... I will save them for the actual podcast.

ReplyDeleteWell this isn't the Emmys or Golden Globes. This is Spoiler TV. And it's the podcast. This is the way things are done. If you don't like it, you can go back to the happy land of the Emmys or the Golden Globes.
ReplyDeleteAhh, so per your definition, because we aren't the Emmys or the Golden Globes, we can go and announce the biggest losers in the world (of television) which is what every bully in the world also live by. They also think that way, you know. Someone else can take on the task of being nice and stuff and we'll be the bullies making people feel bad. I'm all for a good round of SpoilerTV awards, but there is no reason (besides the obvious joy you seem to have at making others feel bad) why we have to point out the fuck-ups. It's quite simply, and I'm putting this at its simplest, mean. Borderline cyber-bullying.
ReplyDeleteIt's not cyber bullying. We're perfectly entitled to criticise and say what we didn't like. Unless you are the most positive person in the world, you cannot like everything about every tv show. According to you, we're not allowed to suggest what we didn't like.
ReplyDeleteYou're right, we are perfectly entitled to criticise. But there's a difference between what we are entitled to and what we actually do. I'm not the most positive person in the world, but I do know common courtesy among people. If someone went online, created a forum and publicly exposed you and called you the worst person at your job, would you find that OK simply because they were expressing their opinion? I realize we have two completely different ways of looking at this (and if you actually answered "Yes, I'd be OK with that" above then we have nothing in common with one another), but what I'm saying is simply: We are entitled to a lot of things, but there are stuff we just don't do.
ReplyDeleteOh, and by the way, to answer your last sentence. There are two ways of looking at something: "I loved how they attempted to make a good show out of this, but I don't think it panned out." and "Fuck this shit, worst piece of television crap I have ever seen. Go die, every last one of you!" I admit I'm not always on the positive side either when commenting about shows, but I'm simply saying not everything has to be looked at as pure and total shit.
No, because that is coming out and making an entire forum to criticise. This is one podcast that discusses what was the worst. There's a huge difference.
ReplyDeleteWell, by law of common sense, they're not going to say that kind of insulting stuff. They're probably not allowed to.
In all of the previous podcasts we have done this we have always keep the "worst" parts as a bit of good fun and a laugh. At no point do we demean or bully about these shows. We always do it in good taste and for entertainment only.
ReplyDeleteOK, fine, if it's just one podcast, I'll relax. I've never really checked out the podcast before, I thought this kind of criticizing was more of a regular thing. If it's not, I'll let this one slide. :)
ReplyDeleteOK, that sounds better than flat-out calling someone bad. Good luck on the podcast!
ReplyDeleteThe criticizing is quite usual, however it is usually more taking the piss than actually insulting the show.
ReplyDeleteMost Unacknowledged Actor/Actress - An actor of actress in a show that consistently gives fantastic performances but is never even nominated for any awards.
ReplyDeleteI'm probably alone in this, but I love Cinematography so best/worst for that.
ReplyDeleteAnd a best/worst for Special Effects, too.
I guess the look of a show matters to me, and can hold me for years or toss me right out of it.
