Royal Pains - 5.01 "Hankwatch" - Screener Review

More like Hank-Coddling

After Hank returns back to work, he feels like he's being babysat, which isn't far from the truth. The show's fifth season premiere already throws problems at him, and it's not like he's being truly acknowledged over the things that he's suspicious of, especially Boris' death. On the contrary, my impression was that the entire team focused on his physical health rather than the things he actually said. But why?

Conflicts

Hank-Watch means priority, and you certainly can expect a major argument coming up between Paige and Evan, as well as the team and Hank, who already feels like not everything is truly under control. On top of that, Divya struggles with her own problem after receiving startling news. I feel like she really tried to focus on her work, but her personal life definitely caught up with her.

Highlight

Jeremiah is back and there's a reason he's called Grizzly. I liked his "change". The fact that Hank approached him in private, which revealed more honesty on Hank's part, is really interesting. He tries to be strong, but it's okay to rely on other people once in a while.

Royal Pains premieres June 12 on USA Network.
