    I was not expecting that ending. I was so disappointed he died (won't say who for those who haven't watched). I was hoping he was gonna end up a good guy.

    Don't know about Garza.... but agree with a lot of what you and others are saying here.


    This show is... lightye... heck this show is in a whole different universe compared to other shows!!! :)

    There are so many characters that each have so many different turns and twist to them. People who are evil, but have a good purpose. People who seem to be good, but are twisted towards evil. People who are so many different things in between.


    O!!! M!!! G!!!


    I'm so freaking happy this show exists and is doing well in Canada. If SciFi... excuse me... SyFy were behind this, I might just not watch for fear of them ripping my heart out by canceling such a good show (curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal... SyFy!!!).

    This season has just raised the bar with each episode. It a travesty that there are only five more episodes left before we have to wait a loooong.... coooold... hooorrible winter for more!!! Gah! :'(

    Well said JBNova (Cool Name by the way)! You are right about this series having us "Twisted" by not being the traditional morality tale. On the one hand Kiera is a good person/protector trying to the right thing (her duty) while in the service to a "Corporate Despot Society". On the other hand you have Liber8, some ruthless rebels/terrorists who fight for a free society/just system (for the people, by the people). Where do we even start with this argument, so little black and white with a whole lot of gray in the middle IMHO! Continuum isn't just a well written Sci - Fi series, it's a well written series....PERIOD! DOWN 4 THE LIBER - ROMMIE, I am Nobody!!!

    Agreed! Just when he was starting to have some redeeming qualities. I mean, I've hated him SO much in the past, but he was just starting to become an interesting character =(

    really good ep and certainly wasn't expecting that ending.... I guess I should've known that something was up when Garner was actually becoming somewhat ok and at least useful.... interesting twist with Garza going after Alec, but the problem I have with the plot tonight of future Alec giving her the "favor/mission" was if in fact she thought that eliminating him would prevent his technology advances affecting the future adversely to her, why didn't she just try to take him out as soon as she arrived/or at least sooner (along with all of the other future corporate heads) - and it appears that she didn't share this with any of the other liber8's... why not? you'd figure that Travis would approve and want to be in on it..... just random thoughts, but I really enjoyed the ep.

    This was Garza's personal/secret mission per (Future) Alec. No one else was suppose to know, not even Jasmine's former leader Kagame appeared to know about it. Travis is on a mission of revenge against Sonya the "Queen of Hearts", so not telling him only made sense under the current circumstances. Now as for the last part...........it would appear that (Teen) Alec plea's for mercy reached Garza on some level. Until this episode Jasmine Garza has been a "Ruthlessly Efficent" (and at times sadistic) killer. So what changed? I have some theories on the "Pathology" of Jasmine Garza, but I'll post those another time. As for the writing possibility for this change of heart, I posted a theory on the Continuum ShowCase blog that's worth a read! DOWN 4 THE LIBER - ROMMIE, I am still Nobody!!!

    I enjoyed it. Only thing I didn't like was Agent Gardiner's death. I actually started to like him and I enjoyed having Nicholas Lea on my TV screen. :(

    I believe the best stories are told when there are questions about each characters morals and motives. I believe that for "good:" and "evil" characters, there should be growth and change. That there is potential for all characters to captivate us with their story. I love it when an essentially "good" character struggles with what's good and right for them. Seeing them take a "darker" path for one reason or another. Especially if they are still, essentially good, but must pass through "trials" that test the very fabric of their soul. I especially enjoy it when the same is true for any "evil" characters involved in the story.

    In Continuum... I look at a character like Gardner. A "good guy," more or less, who we come to dislike because of his actions, his character traits. Yet, his drive is for truth and though that drive brings him into conflict with other essentially good characters, that drive causes him to saddle up along side people he's in conflict with. (side note: I'm expected he'd die, but I'm sad it happened so soon because we could have gotten good mileage out of his story).

    This show has so many deep layers and such a vast array of character with so much potential for deep exploration of who they are and why they are doing what they are doing. More than I have time (or the space) to cover in one post here. I absolutely love it and expect we'll have our expectations flipped many times over. There is so much potential for this show to create "odd couples" and blow us away as these characters change, grow and their story paths cross or even overlap for periods of time.

    Like in this episode, it gives us great moments when it's revealed Alec sent the cop back to protect himself and Garza back to possibly kill him. Alec sent an "Angel" and a "Demon" back in time to sit on his shoulders and help keep himself in check. That's nothing less than freaking awesome! :)

    This was one of my favorite episodes for the series, because of the great directing, editing, and writing. My notion of who Garza was, completely changed because of this episode. How the show interplayed that future meeting between Garza and old Alec in 2077, with Garza and young Alec in this time period, was really great editing. I enjoyed how the pieces of the puzzle played out, with old Alec's intentions and message to his younger self. The main message of the series, and in this whole time travel mission, was central in this episode, and helped focus the series. I am really excited for what's next in the story.
