  3. Me too. I really don't like this style of animation much at all! --But this one looks better than a lot of them I think.

Traditional animation didn't make The Princess and the Frog any better than Tangled, what is the many plot holes and completely two dimensional villain and forgettable songs.

I'd rather have a good film than handrawn animation

I've been looking forward to his film so much and this is what I get? A slapstick comedy trailer that doesn't show the main characters, the world or the plot?

    WHY? DISNEY WHY?

  7. I thought The Princess and the Frog was a fantastic film, songs were definitely not forgettable, but they were in a bit of a different style than Disney movies usually present. Facilier didn't have any less dimensions than your standard Disney villain. I suspect the general public didn't love this film as much because the main couple spent most of the screen time as frogs.

I did love Tangled too, which was great in every way, but still I'm of the opinion it would have been more stunning if hand-drawn. (And here, I can't recall any song from that movie at all ;)

  8. Ok... I need to add a disclaimer: I though this was very cute and very funny (and going by the response it had in the theatre the other day, there seems to be a consensus on that).

Having said that, I need to say, the fact that it doesn't really tease much of the movie but aims more for an Ice Age/Scrat schtick is a little disappointing.

I remember the Tangled teaser did make more references to the plot's happenings, even if it was in jest.

  9. Completely agree with everything you just said -- on a side note, the other movies -- Tangled and Wreck-It-Ralph -- were really good. This one hopefully follows in their footsteps.

  10. The only thing that really bothered me about this animation was the design of the snowman's mouth. It probably would have stuck out half a foot from the rest of his head whether it was hand drawn or computer animated. Forgetting the fact that this is a cartoon and snowmen don't move about, gravity should have taken its toll and made it fall off or at least level with the rest of his face.

On the plus side of computer animation, the backgrounds tend to have more detail and be more active. So its best when they combine the two. For instance, in the movie Mulan - you wouldn't have had the Huns hurdling down the mountain in a mass from a wide perspective. They took a few animations and copied it over and over again to get that effect.
