In one of the first buys for this coming season, the CW has put in development Jane The Virgin, a drama based on the Venezuelan telenovela Juana La Virgen. Jennie Snyder Urman, creator of the CW’s drama series Emily Owens, MD, is set to write the adaptation for CBS TV Studios, where she is under an overall deal, and Ben Silverman’s Electus. Seriously, what is going on in the TV landscape?
ReplyDeleteI remember when the telenovela aired here in South America and it was so stupid and ridiculous. I understood why they adapted Ugly Betty but adapting this is a bad idea.
ReplyDelete"due to a series of outrageous events, is accidentally artificially inseminated."
ReplyDeleteErm, how?
Oh my god, that telenovela was just awful, it doesn't need a remake, urgh.
ReplyDeleteIDEK what to say...Lol CW
ReplyDeleteOh my God...
ReplyDeleteOH.
MY.
GOD.
At least with Ugly Betty, it was sort of understandable and they remade it into a comedy.
ReplyDeleteThis will be gone quicker than Cult.
ReplyDeleteOMG, CBS and CW really like to spend money on stuff that won't work out!
ReplyDeleteObviously there will be vampires, werewolves, superheroes, witches or some supernatural being involved. I mean hey, it's the C-DUB. ;)
ReplyDeletefor that moment when i read Jane, i thought Jane By Design was coming back. dam u CW>
ReplyDeleteHuh? Sounds pretty bad to me. Can't really see it on the CW either.
ReplyDeleteIn the original, there was a mix-up with the papers because two doctors/nursed collided and papers were everywhere, everyone was in a hurry so got the wrong documents or something like that.
ReplyDeleteIsn't this somehow old show? It was on Bulgarian television around 2004-2005. I remember watching but it was so weird and pretty boring.
ReplyDeleteOne can only hope....
