Ugh! I think it might be time to say goodbye..
ReplyDeleteYay! I love Jo and Shane. Stephanie and Lea are okay.
ReplyDeleteI thought they were since we saw them more than characters we care about...Jo I'm good with but the others are useless. This really needs to be the last season of this show unless they want to trim off the size of the cast not enlarge it!
ReplyDeletehonestly I would have preferred to remain Tina Majorino as Brooke was my favorite intern!
ReplyDeletethe character of Tessa Ferrer, on the contrary, I hate (Leah Murphy) seems useless. I hope that at least give a better script in the next season!
Seriously.... I want more of the original cast screen time...
ReplyDeleteOhhhh man the end is near.... And if season 10 is not the last season, I think Shonda will find a way to kill half a dozen of next year's series regulars in some catastrophic event, and then she will hire 20 more to replace the ones that died...
I am sorry but besides watching the merder scenes of the episode I just can't go through 40 minutes of Greys nowadays, and I only watch the merder ones because it's meredith and derek...
I used to love Greys so freaking much...
This does mean a huge cast ! I think 10 should be the last. unless lots of the old cast leave after this. The hospital is call 'Grey-Sloan'
ReplyDeleteMe too but Tina Majorino was cast on a pilot :(
ReplyDeleteIt's funny how Shonda CAN'T keep her promises. She said that the interns would be always credited as guest stars no matter what, and now 4 are regulars and they're all annoying (except Jo). Congrats Shonda... again.
ReplyDeleteTechnically the hospital is called The Grey/Sloan Memorial Hospital.
ReplyDeleteThis is a huge misake. Some of them should not be. Actually, everyone but Jo should stay as recurring.
ReplyDeleteUgh. All of them annoying or boring, or both! Tina Majorino's Brooks (Mousey) was the only one I liked at all, and she's leaving for a pilot. I have no interest whatsoever in ANY of the remaining interns. Jo is such a been there, done that character. Shane is petty, jealous, and unlikeable. Stephanie hasn't done anything except sleep with Avery. Leah is the one who I forget exists because she too has done nothing other than competing Stephanie. Come on Shonda, dump all four of them and use the money to make a better offer to Mousey! Or even bring Addison back. Or Izzie... (I can dream, right?)
ReplyDeleteAlthough I'm not a fan of all the interns, they do all serve their purpose. I doubt that making them regulars will increase their screen time much (except maybe for Jo) so I don't have a problem with this at all.
ReplyDeleteI don't know why she would have said that to begin with. Every single one of them had series regular options on their contracts. It was publicized well before last season ended. Could you give me a link to the article where she makes this "guest star" remark?
ReplyDeleteI glad I'm not the only one mad that Mousy was not upgraded to a season regular. She was the best/funniest intern. Leah over Mousy???? And I was under the impression there was always a chance they would be season regulars b/c Jerrika Hinton did an interview earlier in the season and said they had an option in their contracts to possibly be upgraded to season regulars at some point.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you 1000%. I was into Jo before they made he Alex's love interest. Once they did that everything abt her character screamed Izzie to me. Why not just bring Izzie back?? I just don't see where they will go with Stephanie's story line once Jackson dumps her. Shane is ok but he's no Mousy. I was never a fan of Leah and forgot she was there half the time. I hate the way she turned on Bailey with the CDC investigation. Brooks was the only intern we actually saw doing surgery and she was so entertaining. She reminds me so much of George.
ReplyDeleteIf you think abt it the cast is back to the size it was in S8 before Teddy left and Mark and Lexie died. There's really just one extra character. I would rather see them bring back Teddy or other past characters than upgrade the interns to regulars. Mousy was the only intern I was looking forward to seeing in S10 and she's not a regular.
ReplyDeleteNo real surprise here folks.
ReplyDeleteOn a side note... am I a bad person for hoping that Tina Majorino's new show Legends gets cancelled? :S
Ugh, this pretty much means that Tina Majorino is leaving right? I am really sad about that, she was my favorite intern. And I can't stand Shane after he went all crazy on Heather, I was hoping he'd get the boot.
ReplyDeleteWhen did she say that?
ReplyDeleteActually, it is called Grey + Sloan Memorial Hospital.
ReplyDeleteHuge mistake. They should have been left as recurring guests.. this means all 4 will be featured in MAIN storylines in EVERY episode. It's ridiculous. I already struggle to care about the April / Jackson scenes, and getting rid of Teddy was a big, good step.. season 10 should be the last, and it should focus on our CORE cast. Who the hell wants to see romantic stories for Leah or Stephanie? That means, most likely, more guest actors added at some point to court them.
ReplyDeleteThe show works best when the central stories can be connected somehow to Meredith Grey. Callie has been around forever and her relationship with Arizona is a huge part of the show. The Mercy Westers still feel out of place to me at times.. I'm guessing April will stick with Matthew for a while so Jackson can be used to build Steph up as a main character. I'd really rather spend this time on interesting stories for Meredith, Derek, Cristina (separate from Owen, PLEASE).
I'm not a fan of the way Jo was written all the time but at least she serves a purpose.. obviously Izzie isn't coming back, and Alex deserves to be happy. Hope this story takes some presidence and is handled well. I wanna see Alex's family!
Where's Brooks??? I'd rather have her than Murphy, she seem a little bit useless. Stephanie is OK. Shane an Jo we could se their renewal a long time ago already...
ReplyDeleteI'm glad Gauis Charles and Camilla Luddington are becoming regulars, I like their dynamics with the rest of the cast. However, I would take Tina Majorino over Tessa Ferrer or Jerrika Hinton.
ReplyDeleteI would have liked Tina Majorino being promoted to regular cast member love her with Patrick Dempsey's Dr Derek Shepherd.
ReplyDeleteArgh! Why no Mousey?! She's the only intern I liked. The rest are just plain boring - even Jo. Though Jo had to stick around because of Alex. *sigh*
ReplyDeleteIf they get a new writing staff, and manage to write new and interesting stories, then let new seasons come..
ReplyDeleteIf they however keep up the standard that was displayed in season 9, then KILL it off! The material given to this talented group of actors was incredibly bad.. When you manage to write scenes so bad that one feels awkward when it is not supposed to be awkward, they are killing the show.. Almost every character has been written in to cartoonish idiots, that no longer resembles anything "real". When did they get the idea that the more stupid and insulting the story lines and character development gets, the better? If watching ANY of the previous seasons, and then watching this season, the quality differences SCREAMS at you. If one only write for focus groups and rating numbers, and have actors that have in their contract a set of x amount of screen time per episode, the story lines will suffer.. But as long as the producers and the Grey franchise can get payed, who cares, right? Keep this up, and they will be forced to stop.
She said this last year after when we started the learn that new interns would come.
ReplyDeletelast year
ReplyDeleteIf it was that long ago, she was still casting the parts and fleshing out the characters at the time. She may have meant what she said at the moment but characters and ideas often change a lot between the time they're conceived and when they're filming so I'd hardly fault her for changing direction during the creative process. That kind of thing happens all the time.
ReplyDeleteNo, I don't think so... It happens A LOT in Shonda's case. A promise is a promise, if she can't keep it then she said nothing.
ReplyDeleteIf it's a choice between keeping an arbitrary promise and a showrunner doing what they believe to be best, creatively speaking, for their show I would rather the person in question take the latter option.
ReplyDeleteTina Majorino plays the socks of the others, of course she's not offered to be regular, or she's smart enough to decline..
ReplyDeleteHappy about Jo and Shane. Finally a good match for Alex and with Lexie gone it's nice to see Derek mentoring someone else.
ReplyDeleteI like Stephanie so YAY. She's good for Jackson and I think Cristina might find a real protege there.
Lea I could do without. She's annoying. Mousy was better, but she got another show (I am hoping she'll make an occasional guest appearance though).
I'm so watching out of habit these days it's not even funny. So adding new characters does nothing to me at this point. Plus three out of the four I do kinda like so I can deal.
ReplyDeleteWhy the hell would they keep Lea and let MOUSY GO?!?!? UGH.
