  1. I don't think that someone will be sacrificed, i think it might be a concept or an idea that is "given up" (ie. closing the gates of hell)

  2. If someone is sacrificed it'll probably be someone like Crowley or Kevin. I doubt Castiel as it was said a while back he was updated to series regular next season even directing an episode. Abaddon didn't seem too pleased about 'the salesman' Crowley being King of Hell so maybe this is the end of Crowley and the rise of Abaddon?

  3. According to the interview with JC its not a 'who', its a 'what' and its a 'what' for more than just one character. Its what Sam, Dean and Castiel are all 'sacrificing' for the cause regardless of completing the trials and closing the hell gates or not.

    ReplyDelete
  4. If Castiel is going to be a series regular i suppose he'll become human then

    ReplyDelete
  5. I say : Castiel's grace (he becomes human) and Sam's humanity (he becomes an angel).

    ReplyDelete
  6. Personally I think it was the soul of Supernatural that has been sacrificed. Plus canon, which has been slaughtered and placed on the altar all season long.

    ReplyDelete
  7. if the trials have been changing Sam as they have progressed then doesnt it stand to reason that the closer Cas gets to compelting the heaven tablet trials and closing heavens gates the more human he will become?
So essentially Cas wont become human untill he has completed the trials and his 'sacrifice' is basically giving up his life as an angel and giving up heaven?

    ReplyDelete
  8. doesnt that change the whole premise of the show?

    ReplyDelete
  9. well Carver did say that we're gonna see a whole new wolrd in Season 9

  10. If someone is sacrificed, I have a feeling it will be Sam. i saw the new BBB video Jared used t set his mood for the finale.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Well that wouldnt be anything new but he was sacrificed at the begining of the season when Jeremy didnt have him look for Dean so while sacrificing Sam is a common concept on the show since Eric's time . I would in all honesty prefer it to be something else.

Interesting pick with Kevin. I don't think so, but it would surprise me. What if he was the one to say the spell? or Metraton. Its a dangerous spot, regardless I don't think so.
It is actually too possible for Castiel to sacrifice. But I don't think sacrifice means death or stay dead. I would've liked to see Sam and Dean put together to even things up, since they both play a role in this. I understand why though, I dislike choosing between them haha
However, its Sam I chose. Only went with my logics here, because he's kinda a 'sacrifice'. But the show have always been about sacrifice both of their lives anyway.
I was also thinking maybe its none of these, no-one we know or Naomi (unlikely). Looking forward to watch the finale :)

    I WAS THINKING THAT!

i am very sure that Cas is eventually going to be turned human

  15. Apart from story considerations [not that they have been all that concerned], I say Dean but only because they ought to give Jensen some time off to be with his new baby. I think they lessened Jared's load for a brief time, so it's only fair.
But that is odd for the story, since he ended up in Purgatory after last season, and it's sort of Sam's time for a finale cliffhanger. And let's be honest, Dean hasn't been given anything important to the story so it wouldn't flow too well.

  16. Voted "Other"; Sam, Dean, Cas, Crowley, and Kevin will all sacrifice "something", and it won't necessarily be their lives though I think it's more likely based on prior spoilers that Kevin won't see S9.

    ReplyDelete
  17. That doesn't necessarily mean Sam dies. It could be Dean or Dean and Kevin. This next will ranty but it's not directed at you jensenfan1978 - it's my general "Top Wish for the Finale:

My sole hope for this finale (as I believe we're not going to find out the so-called "REAL REASON" (/eyeroll) that Sam didn't look for Dean - per JC Sam gave his reasons and if we don't like them, tough) is that whatever crisis Sam and Dean face, they face it together e.g., die together, get thrown in Hell/Heaven/Purgatory/Limbo/Fairy Reality, Alternate, Alternate (*g*) Universe, you get the picture. The key word is "together" - that way it avoids Sam having to change his mind about looking/saving Dean and looking even douchier for his 8.01 decision if Dean disappears or "dies" AND Dean if Sam dies or disappears from looking like the (again and again) "Much Better Brother".

    ReplyDelete
  18. I agree and that's why I voted "Other". Several major characters will have their lives changed in some way by their actions in the finale.

  19. The quality of writing has been sacrificed in order to stretch 23 episodes out of 13 episodes of material. Maybe new or even guest writers? I would love to see the Stephen King guest write an episode or two but money is a concern.

So we're left with Eugenies pancakes. Hopefully they are better than Uncle Buck's.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Jody Mills will be the sacrifice. (Keep in mind I'm REALLY good at picking football games.)

    ReplyDelete
  21. I think Supernatural needs Motw episodes. But I agree that they need to do mytharc stories way more.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Ha!! Thought i wS the comedy relief here. :)

    ReplyDelete
  23. That might be sacrifice...

    ReplyDelete
  24. Eugenie's pancakes are actually little pieces of cardboard covered in syrup to try to make you believe they're real pancakes. Don't eat them!!!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Oh, good God. If that happened, I would really have to give up on the show.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Their humanity. I mean, why not? Makes as much sense as anything else this season.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I definitely agree. MOTW were the bread and butter of the series early on. I used to love the urban legends and non-mytharc eps more than the mytharc. And I really enjoyed the mytharc in seasons one and two. And three, until the Writer's Strike screwed everything up.

  28. Metatron isn't to be trusted. Metatron claimed that he had completely separated himself from the angel world, yet he seems to have caught himself up mysteriously quickly. How is it that he had never heard a whisper of the Winchesters or Lucifer's imprisonment, but knew how to find the world's one and only nephilim so fast? I'm not buying it. While I don't think Metatron is working for Naomi, I do suspect he's only the latest to manipulate Castiel's good intentions for his own purposes.

    ReplyDelete
  29. MOTW episodes aren't bad, but they just haven't been as good in these later seasons. Back in the day, the episodes seemed to flow from each other. The PIP of the week had a tie in w/one of the brothers in some form. For instance, in BS in season 3, when the brother talks about watching his brothers die and how horrible it was, Sam related to him. In FB, when the vampire speaks about staring down eternity by himself, how he lost his whole family, and how desperate he was, that directly related to Dean. That type of stuff doesn't happen that often anymore.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Yup, that's how I see it. I do think Crowley will be 'cured' and Abbadon will take over as a new big bad (which would be a lot of fun). Although if the gates of Hell are closed, not 100% sure how that'll all work out...unless there's a mass exodus of demons that come topside before it happens.

I'm also not convinced the 'gates of heaven' issue will be completely solved tonight. Cas wont be 'human' next year, that just wouldn't work, but he's been so conflicted for so long, I suspect he'll still after tonite.

Gonna be interesting to see how it all plays out what what happens to the boys at the end of this season 8 road. I'm sure we'll all be hating whatever cliffhanger awaits.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Well, hope Carvers likes his crap show as I won't be watching if Sam is the angel and Cas is the human. Just NO . . . to that whole idea!

    ReplyDelete
  32. That would be awful, and they would definitely LOSE me as a viewer if that crap happened!

    ReplyDelete
  33. Ok lets say that Sam is sacrificed and lets say Crowley is cured and Cass looses his grace ok now we have Abaddon walking around and last I checked she wanted to find out about the little box and if Dean doesn't have Sam there and she becomes Queen of Hell won't she go hunting for Dean and try to find out what was in the box last I checked she wanted to cut his pretty green eyes out. So not sure you want to kill Sam if we have Crowley cured. Or else we leave Dean again in a position where he is already on a hit list of Abaddon. So I can't see Sam becoming angel since that was Deans storyline. I can see Sam being cured of his demon blood and being normal and not feeling like a freak which would make sense. I wish that the angel trials had them going after the rightous man killing him Naomi would get her chance to kill Dean again. But this is wishful thinking on my part.

  34. I agree. In earlier seasons the MOTW episodes were intended to either mirror what was going with each brother at the time or provide insight into the brothers heads through the MOTW; Skin and Asylum were both superb examples of "brothers POV thru MOTW". Episodes like Faith and The Benders were used to establish how concerned the brothers were about each other. Now, it's as if the writers have all said "screw gaining more insight", let's introduce artificial conflict to make the bros look bad for making the decisions they made and find new ways to set segments of the fandom at odds with each other. Pffbt!

Probably Sam will try to sacrifice himself and Castiel will take his place.

  38. Not for Supernatural. However, there are plenty of other shows I watch. My next venture in new SPN should be the next summer hellatus when I marathon the whole season to see if it's worth watching it for season 10.

    ReplyDelete
  39. My thoughts exactly, every Angel we met on SPN had his or her sinister motive, and Metatron isn't any different.
Can't wait for this true colors to be shown.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Say it isn't so. I know another viewer who will be close to ending it with this show if they kill off Sheriff Jody.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Exactly! It's such a shame b/c the show used to flow so well.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Ah the writers' strike. It screwed up absolutely everything.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Awesome job summing up my feelings on this year's MotW episodes. They were pointless, generally dull, and rife with false conflict for no point.

    ReplyDelete
  44. My votes were for Cas or Sam :(

    ReplyDelete
  45. Yes actually, I think I might have felt a tiny bit better about this season if those episodes had not happened. At least it would have been fewer episodes of disappointment.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I believe Dahne when he says he won't come back. I'm the one who keeps coming back, like the sick fool I am.

    ReplyDelete
  47. I don't disagree they haven't been as good. Most of them are connected to the mytharc anymore and that makes me enjoy them less.

    ReplyDelete
  48. When I read that interview Kripke gave, outlining how he'd planned to have Sam save Dean with his powers, and his ideas for season four? I literally had a tear in my eye. Cause I was never gonna see any of that. EVER. Instead, I get effing ANGELS.

    ReplyDelete
  49. You and me both. Just think if they had gone with Kripke's plan to kill off Cas in Swan Song instead of bringing him back we might have avoided angels for the rest of the series too. I loved Sera Gamble on this show but that'd a big red X against her for me.

    ReplyDelete
  50. ...aaaaand, it was nobody, apparently....

    ReplyDelete
  51. It was nobody...but it was a something. Dean sacrificing closing the gates of hell and wiping out the demon race (mostly)....to save his brother. As always with SPN...it always comes back to family. :)

It is unfortunate that Sam is not sacrificed and the gates of hell for even not been closed. He could sacrifice his own life to save all of humanity. The dilemma brotherly - embarrassment.
