Really with TVD would start doing half season arcs, though, because in season 2 they drug out the moonstone too long, in season 3 the originals mystery too long, and in season 4 the cure storyline has been even more dull and slow, at this point I don't care who takes it but at least these last few eps have been really good.
I for most part agreed.Season 2 things mostly worked. But It sure didn't for season 3.Season 4 has been helped by emotionless elena and return of Katharine, who always makes things better, and If Elena doesn't get cure I will be surprised. That will mean they took guts In their writing for a change.
whole resurrection will be made permeant will be Intresting to see.
Does nobody even care Boonie could possibly be really dead. I never really like her character but if she dies who's gonna do all the much needed voodoo stuff next season?
At this point, with the veil down, it doesn't really matter if she's dead. She's not going anywhere. Killing any supernatural person right now is like playing a pointless game of Whac-A-Mole. Bonnie is going to graduate next week with the rest of her friends. All she has to do is find a way to stick around when she raises the veil again and she'll be fine.
If Bonnie is the one "resurrection" that sticks, that would be a huge cop out. That being said, I wouldn't put it past TVD to do exactly that. I'm going to give TVD the benefit of the doubt and assume that the resurrection in question is completely separate from the Bonnie situation. I expect her to be just fine by the end of the finale.
My feeling on the next episode is that she'll only be able to keep one alive after the veil closes, and that she will choose Jeremy over herself. There's a death. It's not Rebekah, it's not Elena, Stefan or Damon. I don't think it's Caroline, Tyler or Matt, given the general tone around those characters in rumors, spoilers and Julie Plec interviews and soundbites.
I don't really see the point of bringing Jeremy back. How would they explain that to everyone in Mystic Falls? What's the point of having a character still in high school when the rest of the characters on TVD have moved on to new phases in their lives? Jeremy hardly ever does anything anyway and will have even less opportunity for integration without Bonnie around. Jeremy is kind of like a useless appendage that TVD has evolved beyond. He's basically a vestigial tail.
You may be right and they may be bringing Jeremy back but I believe doing so is a bad move.
I thought it was a creative cop-out... without the potential of a "trade". I think it was more important that a core, "kid" cast member die and stay dead than it be Jeremy.
And honestly, I think Bonnie more than any other character makes this show worse. Her presence has been a negative aspect in the series' finales for three straight years now. It allows them to tap into vague, deus ex machina magical solutions at will.
How they would explain Jeremy's resurrection is a question I never considered, and you're right that it would be difficult if not impossible. I would rather it be Lexi or somebody, but there's a lot of fishiness around McQueen's departure, and I don't see the potential for a major death unless it is Bonnie.
Crap, I totally forgot those bloody hunters! Now we know how Damon is in danger. My money is still on Alaric coming back. As he said, someone needs to take care of those kids!
with all due respect, nothing makes this worse than the writers themselves. She did nothing but save the sorry a**es of 'supposed' VAMPIRES and she still gets hate. I still don't get you people. If Bonnie were written differently she'd be a STAR among the viewers. and if she was on another show/channel she'd get a whole lot love than some plot-device.. time to face reality buddy and see who is actually the worse characters..
Figures, not even a small mention of Bonnie .. we know she's gonna attend her graduation .. except like ALWAYS she is pushed back by the shitty network!
It's true it's the writers' fault but that doesn't mean the character is not up for criticism. Keep in mind we are not saying "Kat is a bad actress" we are saying we do not like the character because the way her character arc goes. If the writers didn't make her some fix button then it would be okay.
then i am not disagreeing with you, I'll criticize her too because I love her but if she's judged fairly like everyone of the others then this is ok. yet she's judged "more as a character mind you" than anyone that deserves to be judged harshly & this has nothing to do with Kat playing her too (even tho Kat deserves as much love as an actress on a popular show as nina and candice get, and I blame CW for that) instead direct all the anger/hate toward those writers like we Bonnie fans do.
Yeah I agree. There is a lot of stuff the writers do poorly. It isn't just with Kat's character. I judge everyone on the same standards really. I've not really got too in to the TVD fandom but if it's anything like Supernatural's then I know there are camps of fans who are bias against certain characters. You can't reason with ones already set up at one of those camps. So to speak.
we're justifiably biased when it comes to Bonnie. she's literally the heroic example on TVD and be killed like that? where the hell has the past 4 years of my life gone to writers? you see where i am coming from? she's been treated badly with no reason just plain racism from network, writers and even fans (yes, I said it 'coz all of them have no reason for their hate except that)
I don't hate Bonnie, so I don't specially like her either. I was so happy that Katherine hasn't been killed by Elena. I would love to see that Kool and Alaric stay resurrected for good. Kool could be an interesting addition to The Originals, I hope Julie Plec doesn't overlook this opportunity. Even Finn, would be good. All the Original siblings.... and Alaric, because I love him (and his show was canceled) and Damon needs that person who choose him before Stefan.
So I would actually prefer the dead to stay. Maybe the Scooby gang can try to kill all the bad guys who threat them again (not Kol, though), that would make Season 5 interesting. so, I know that's not gonna happen and only once (if) will stay alive. Hope it is not Jeremy, I get so bored with him!
She's not the heroic example. And while the writers put themselves in this position, they now have to deal with questions like "why can't Bonnie magic it" when a problem arises. It's the Baby in the Bedroom scenario. You can't have a baby on a show without explaining it's presence or lack of presence. You're tripping all over yourself at all times. Same deal with Bonnie and her magic.
"All she does is save the lives of Vampires" - every single person who is in danger in the finale, which may be every person everywhere, is on her. This is not even the fifth time she's tried to do something by herself, fuck it up gloriously and put everyone in danger.
You like Bonnie... good for you. I don't hate her, I hate everything they've done with her since Season 1. Either she dies or her magic is taken away for good.
She tries to be heroic but she is also very impulsive with her magic. Meaning, she may mean to use her power for good but it usually has some bad consequences. Like last night, She was trying to save Jeremy. That's a good thing. But she didn't listen to the advice of her grams and look where it got her.
The writers don't let her learn from her mistakes. That's why people don't like what happens with her. If she isn't doing that she is saving people. You're right. But she is too powerful most of the time.
According to this http://www.eonline.com/news/417150/the-vampire-diaries-shocker-is-spoiler-really-dead-get-scoop-on-the-finale?cmpid=sn-000000-twitterfeed-365-kristin&utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter&utm_campaign=twitterfeed_kristin&dlvrit=51396. Bonne ends the season dead, so that's not her. I think they kept the resurrection car for someone else. From what we saw last night :Alaric, Jeremy or Lexi.Probably Alaric or Lexi. Bringing Jeremy back would be the obvious and easy (for Elena) choice. I don't see how they would include the Lexi character in the gang. So I guess Alaric (he's a teacher so he could blend in both universes: college or high shcool, and the show needs a solid parental figure).
when you look deeper into why she did it, she does it mostly out of sense of protection for the town & driven to by the love for Elena that's what the writers always justify it. even for us fans, in the scene prior to her death, we know that she was acting strange even for her. And I expect some kind of explanation for the purpose of her acting this way despite Shane's warnings in 4x13 .. and speaking of impulsive, yep she might be but that's where I draw similarities between her and Damon's character. He does what he does good or bad but at the end of the day, he gets things done. he'll go that route no one will take. And I hope this will be their learning/growing experience for S5. in which Bonnie, as she get more powerful i hope she gets to be written more consistently.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Looks pretty good. :)

hahaha...and an updated wardrobe.

ReplyDeleteKilling her might prevent the writers from tapping that Dues Ex Machina well.
