I'm looking forward to the finale a lot more than I was last season, that's for sure. And I'm also quite nervous about how it's going to turn out - which I consider to be an acheivement for a show that's as old as SPN.
I can't even remember much of what happened in last season's finale. Besides Dean and Castiel zapped to Purgatory. Only reason I remember that is they keep having Dean bring it up all the time.
Well I can't say for sure...I think it's a diner or a bar.The promotional photos for 8x23 did feature a place like that but the weird thing is that only angels were in those. The poor guy has sustained too many blows! If he live through the finale it's gonna be a miracle! As about Metatron I am very interested in WHEN Naomi does her experiments on him.Could it be before he met Cas??If that's the case then she's probably pulling the strings. And I do smell something rotten about Metatron insisting on Cas doing the trials of the angel tablet.
It had Crowley and Dick spouting legalese at each other and a Leviathan board meeting, and the Sucrocorp headquarters was too brightly lit to be ominous, and there was no fight choreography whatsoever. The most exciting part was when Dean and Cas made up and Cas said, "I don't mean to make you uncomfortable, but..." and half the fandom thought he was going to finish the sentence with something super-romantic (and don't get me wrong, I enjoyed that scene immensely, but there should have been other good scenes in a season finale.)
This year, I actually feel like it's up-in-the-air as to whether or not the Winchesters will be successful, and I'm concerned about what's going to happen to Sam, and whether Cas is doing the right thing by working with Metatron.
A friend suggested that maybe Metatron's done the first two Trials already and the third is a mirror of the third Hell Trial. Instead of trying to "cure a demon" he has to "corrupt an angel". It'd definitely be an interesting twist and good contrast to the Hell Trials. Since the Hell Trials are about doing GOOD things to close the Gates, maybe the Heaven Trials are about doing BAD things ...
Remember when Sam trusted in Ruby cuz she wanted to help him? But in the end (Lucifer Rising) she was a two-face douchebag? Could be the same thing with Metatron and Cass? That Metatron fool Cass and the only thing that he wants is Power now that the Archangels there are not anymore?
Interesting theory. I would love that, but there's also a personnal reason why I would love that, it's cause as long as Metatron is around, I fear Kevin will become ''useless'' and they'll kill him off X_X
But this season was about the Demon Tablet and close the Gates of Hell. The next season would be about the close Heaven and all the angels; maybe they don't need to kill Kevin because another profet will rise, maybe the Angel Tablet will be destroy it and Kevin became a Hunter?
I like my friend's theory that Metatron's already done the first two Heaven Trials and is trying to corrupt Castiel as the third and final. Because no angel has been THIS helpful and amicable on the series and not had some ulterior motive. He knew just which buttons to push on Castiel to get him to agree. Just because we like Curtis Armstrong and Metatron's dropped some good lines, doesn't mean he's not evil. I mean, look at Crowley, Meg, Lucifer, etc. I think they cast CA purposely to throw us off.
I was just thinking: last year the thing I looked forward to the most of the finale was the Kansas song. This year, it only just occured to me that I've got that waiting for me in just three years. So in retrospect, season 7 must've been worse than 8 on that observation alone. Well done Carver.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
I WON'T SURVIVE THIS EPISODE :'( My boooooooys :'(
ReplyDeleteWhy is Sam ransacking the fridge with his head? Doesn't seem like the way to go. lol
ReplyDeleteCan't wait y'all guys!

ReplyDeleteIs Sam at Metatron's casino? If he survives that and being thrown out the window, I guess the trials really have changed him.
ReplyDeleteIs Metatron Naomi's puppet? Maybe she's the reason for these weird, rushed trials with Cas.
I liked Meg driving the Impala, and Dean and Cas making up. The rest, eh.

ReplyDeleteIt looks like Sam being shoved head first into the bottles is the reason why his face looks so cut up in the promo pics.

ReplyDeleteThat's why my guess is that the sacrifice will be Kevin instead....I sure hope not :S Osric is such a great person I would miss him on the show

huh!that really sounds interesting...!can't wait to see how it all plays out.we're sure up for an epic finale!!!
ReplyDeleteIt'd be a fun storyline, I think. At least something that'd make me less critical of the SLs on the show in the past few seasons. We'll see.
