PUTAIN, BANDE DE CONNARDS, ALLEZ VOUS FAIRE FOUTRE ! (again, excuse my French)
Well, 5 minutes ago I was wishing on the Go On cancellation thread that TNT woldn't do the stupid mistake to cancel SouthLAnd... there you go. This show is lucky to have stayed alive for 5 seasons / 43 episodes when you know NBC cancelled it a month before season 2 premiered, but still, it hurts.
TNT, you don't know drama, you know shit. Greenlighting Michael Bay's latest turd and not giving a proper farewell to one of the best shows on TV? If you wanted to end SouthLAnd, you should have told the writers before season 5, you idiots.
So much agreement here, I wish it had got a chance to wrap up completely especially with that ending. And shame on everyone who never watched it and will eventually discover it years later, should have watched it now!
Exactly, even if it didn't had the most adequate conclusion, SouthLAnd is the kind of show people will watch in a few years and think "hey, this is brilliant, why didn't I watch it when it was on?". People did that with The Wire (but flying under the radar is better on HBO because they got a final season), they'll do it for SouthLAnd.
This just sucks! I knew after this season would of been very hard to carry on.5 years is a long time for TNT and they did it right,no complaints here...Bravo! You all deserve Emmys!
So glad i twittered Michael C during the week! Clapping Wildly AMONGST THE BRAVOS!!!!!!!
Fucking hate this. HATE IT. One of the best dramas on tv, the best cop show BY FAR. It's a shame not many were watching. They are gonna regret it as soon as they start cathing up. Porco cane!!
I mean I am thankful they picked it up after NBC cancelled it but it seems so unfair that we don't get a conclusion. I agree with the Wire comparisons in fact I would go as far as saying its the best cop show since that series.
So question. TNT is talking about wrapping it up with a 2 hour movie. I've heard this said about other shows in the past. Are there any examples of shows that have actually done this? I've heard so much but I've never actually seen a show get a movie wrap up.
I AM an Enlightened fan too :D (even mentioning it an hour ago as the only truly painful cancellation of 2013 before Go On... and now SouthLAnd).
What a show that was ! Episode 2.05 is probably one of my top episodes of the season. But overall, I guess I'm already quite happy we got a second season given the complete lack of audience, and the ending works as a series finale, so I'm not upset.
And I'm not forgetting the Bored to Death cancellation either, but in general, HBO usually lets shows go out on their own terms.
Great. :/ Not only they're cancelling their best show by far (and one of the best cop shows ever made), but they'll also leave an unresolved cliffhanger.
this truly sucks.... this was such a great show that was sometimes hard to watch because of the dark realistic grittiness, but always kept me riveted.... but I will always appreciate TNT for at least giving it an extended chance to tell it's tales.....
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.
ReplyDeleteWHY IS THIS HAPPENING TO ME TODAY?
I knew this was going to happen. In my head Cooper survived. Fuck this was one of the best shows of 2013 had an unbelievable season.

ReplyDeleteEnlightened fans would like to weep in a corner as its still so painful to think about *sobs*

ReplyDeleteHow utterly ridiculous....this is oneof the BESt shows on TV. TNT just lost my respect.
ReplyDeleteHow can you compare both shows? They're on completely different networks.
ReplyDeleteDamn! This sucks!

ReplyDeleteSurprised by this, most surprising cancellation so far.
