Oh Dear! Me thinks Nora is so dead....
ReplyDeleteI think Rachel will die (because if they turn the lights back on, the nanobots stop working and her leg will be injury again), please don't kill Nora, not yet.
ReplyDeleteI think she wont make it past episode 19 actually. Or maybe beginning of episode 20.
ReplyDeleteMaybe is not J.J. and actually is Eric Kripke.
ReplyDeleteI'd much rather nora die then rachel i love Elizabeth Mitchell
ReplyDeleteI think you're right. Kripke probably has more input on the show than Abrams. Bad Robot is just the production company doing the show. Abrams has his name as an exec producer on a LOT of series. No way he's inputting or running day to day/scripts on ALL. AND doing Star Trek and Star Wars.
ReplyDeleterachel wont die she is a main character , im not so sure about Nora
ReplyDeleteI was wondering about what would happen to her leg also... I mean it's not as life threatening as Danny's lung issue or cancer (like the girlfriend of that lady who knew everything about the tower) but still... I wonder if her bone would re-break or something, or get blood poisoning from the seriously unsanitary conditions that little thing was shoved into her leg... or maybe it will explode or cook her from the inside out (I think she mentioned that as a possibility last episode). I wonder what would happen if she cut it out before the power turns back on...
ReplyDeleteI really hate to say this but to me, it sounds like Monroe may be the one getting axed this episode. I really hope to be wrong on this one.
ReplyDeleteOh God, I hope so! I can't stand the character, and well I've never liked the actress either, so I won't shed a tear if she's gone. Now Rachel is a diferent story. If they kill Elizabeth Mitchell, I'm done with the show.
ReplyDeleteHmm does Miles end up choosing between the life of one of them? and how could Randall and Tom be any "darker" (do they keep the power off :p) -But looks like everyone made it to the finale, but I doubt everyone is going to make it to season 2...
ReplyDeleteIt might not work that way, because we have no idea if the nanites will just stop working just because the power is on, since they multiplied to such a great extent, Ultimately I don't expect the power to turn on, as I think that would just be too easy. If anything I could see the Tower blowing up, or their is an unexpected adverse effect...
ReplyDeleteI don't know if her leg would be ripped open again? Hers is an injury and not quite the same as a disease in which cell function does not work properly (like Danny's lung tissue or Beth's Cancer). It wasn't that her leg couldn't heal, but that they needed to heal it "faster"...
Actually J.J. Abrams may make a Stephen King Novel a TV Series
ReplyDelete(but IMO they both LOVE Stephen King!!)
http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2013/04/jj-abrams-wants-rights-to-stephen-kings-112263-zero-hour-and-do-no-harm-get-summer-burnoffs.html
Maybe, but I can't see them killing off a major character two weeks in a row. I think we'll get a cliffhanger at the end of 19 that will be resolved in 20 before the season ending cliffhanger.
ReplyDeleteAnd since it says "core group" I don't think we'll lose Monroe either.
Even though I agree Kripke is left in charge to make a lot of decisions, it's not with out approval from Bad Robot. Originally the series was going to be more point blank parallel to "The Stand", but Abrams made Kripke compromise his premise with electricity instead of a virus. Additionally when Alcatraz was on, cast members revealed that although some of them had not met Mr. Abrams in person at the start of the series, they did receive notes and suggestions from him. I also assume he has executive consultants and other middle men who knows what he would want. Additionally Kripke and Co. have gone out of their way to parallel and reference other Bad Robot works (and Supernatural), something that is signature of Bad Robot.
ReplyDeleteThe only times I have ever not felt their signature or presence is during "What About Brian" and "Morning Glory". Those two times it felt like they were very much in the back back back seat and were just the money.
I liked early season Nora but second half of season Nora was boring and pathetic, all she did was act like a love sick teenager over Miles.
ReplyDeleteI'm actually not a fan of Elizabeth Mitchell. I never watched Lost, so I don't know her from that. I'm not overly impressed with her in Revolution but I do find the character of Rachel interesting. Not saying I LIKE Rachel at all, but at least she's interesting!
But it says "core group" and Monroe has been outside the group so I don't think he's the one in danger in this episode. His death might be the season ending cliffhanger though.
ReplyDeleteYeah that is what I think, that Miles has to make some leadership decision concerning a life or death situation between Nora and Rachel.
ReplyDeleteI don't know. I would like to think the possibility that he has son who potentially could be "anyone" might be worth keeping him around to play with another crazy family dynamic next season, but I feel like the Monroe Republic could crumble...
ReplyDeleteAgreed
ReplyDeleteagreed with you:) I think his son will be anther storyline in season 2. Besides, for me the scene between Miles and Monroe is one of the best in this show, both the brother/family bonding and facing as enemies :))
ReplyDeleteRachel is so conflicted inside, I think this makes this character more interesting. Her hatred on Monroe is quite obviously and so understandable: Monroe tortured her for EIGHT YEARS, killed her husband and her son, destroyed her daughter's peaceful life and put her daughter into a dangerous situation(a warrior). On the other hand her love for Charlie makes her a good mother which will never change. And all her flashbacks about the secret and her history even make this role more fascinating. But for Nora, some actions just became unreasonable. It was a good character but didn't work well.
ReplyDeleteafter the last episode I thought Tom will be better because of Jason, but right now it seems this character doesn't work that way...Tom's getting more interesting:)
ReplyDeleteAlways enjoying your comments and learning so many background stories:)
ReplyDeleteDavid Lyons has really been a unique villain, because despite being somewhat sociopathic, he's also over emotional at times and makes think there's someone human in there somewhere! I agree Miles and Bass have a really interesting dynamic and it would be a shame to cut that loose so soon. :)
ReplyDeleteHe had such a weird look when he saw Charlie and Jason together at the end of the last episode. I keep wondering if he's jealous and/or if he has another plan??
ReplyDeleteBut I wonder if he teamed up with Randall, because of the way the press release lumped them together telling us they both become darker somehow! (There might be a parallel/allusion to Star Wars in here too, since they coin it "dark side")
Well, from what we've been told, he already abandoned Rachel once (sure, he thought she was dead, but now he knows different, so the guilt is there), so he won't do it again. And Nora has become more and more anoying, so I won't mourn her loss.
ReplyDeleteMy personal take is that Nora will sacrifice herself bravely. Rachel will likely give in to her true feelings for Miles and tell him she's always loved him and that Charlie is his daughter. I can see Monroe being defeated and the tower being changed (not necessarily shut down with the power restored but changed in some way...perhaps some power is restored or some nano bots are reprogrammed in some way). Monroe will escape but be on the run perhaps with Randall. The republic will be restored but Miles will be arrested for war crimes and he will also be on the run. Just some ideas. Some may happen or none.
ReplyDeleteThose are interesting thoughts!
ReplyDeletebest. idea. ever. i so badly hope they don't kill monroe, his general selfish/selflessnes and battle with himself make the story so much more interesting, we need to find out how exactly he and miles created the republic, and i don't believe he will die until we do.
ReplyDeletebut it always thought it would be interesting if his son is the leader of the Texas nation and they become enemies :D or form an alliance of evil evilness :)
I think she might sacrifice herself too, especially since she might be coherst into doing something to hurt him before this episode, since Monroe has her in his clutches...But I think the press release makes it sound like that Miles has to make some kind of decision, which may have to do with choosing between them, but you're right it wouldn't surprise me if Nora makes the decision for him. I hope though that some more of her back story is exposed before that happens. I know a lot of people tend to root for one or the other of women, but I like both characters and how they have contrasted each other, so although I think "Kashmir" pointed out the inevitable with Nora, I will miss her character, even though it probably will better the story.
ReplyDeleteI agree that Rachel will probably reveal to Miles/the audience that Charlie is there daughter in the finale for the reasons you say! It's a smart time to do it.
I doubt it will happen, but I kind of wish that whatever happens at the tower puts the reality/part of the reality in state of twilight. I think it would be fun to have a season where there is no bright light. (sun is somehow blocked by a new energy field).
We all want rachel to tell miles that hes charlies dad!
ReplyDeleteTwilight is a cool idea but it would be hard to shoot in terms of always shooting at night etc. I imagine the nano bots going crazy like huge swaths of them burn everything in their path like a firestorm that moves around. Or perhaps they reprogram people and or animals ...I suspect that whats in the elevator shaft is some kind of quasi cyber animal like a bear or mountain lion that the nano bots have taken over.
ReplyDeleteOk that would make sense.
ReplyDeleteThats so cool but creepy
ReplyDeleteDarth you make a good point here and I agree with you, and maybe this idea of turn the power back is a diversion of the writers of the real thing, "The Tower" definitely hide somenthing danger to change the dynamic of the show.
ReplyDeleteHa! Good point! Hadn't thought of that XD
ReplyDeleteYa! I was thinking like a purple-ish filter lense so that it's not exactly dark, ut just not natural looking! But that would probably still be pretty expensive!
ReplyDeleteBut what you have in mind sound awesome!!:D
I know in some ways it's been pushing for the idea of turning the lights back on, and so maybe not doing it is counter intuitive, but I just think having limited amounts of tech is what makes the show so fun and different, that I feel like turning the lights on might be the goal for the long run, if it remains a goal at all!?? But the Tower seems like a good game changer. I hopeful it's something none of us really thought of! :)
ReplyDeleteSo.... Miles will make a choice that somehow will save Rachel and send Nora to her death. Why am I not surprised?
ReplyDeleteUhm, not ALL of us...
ReplyDeleteWell I hope you wont be completely devestated by the outcome of the espisode whenyou see it.
ReplyDeleteProbably not. I don´t tend to get completely devastated by a TV show, no matter what happens in an episode.
ReplyDeleteYeah, that´s not why.
ReplyDeleteWell I don't understand what you mean? -If a show has hinted at foreshadowing something like a death, then it makes sense when that character succumbs to that fate!
ReplyDeleteAdditionally it also make sense the writers changed some of their ideas the minute they switched out A.R. for E.M. in the Pilot and I think it's obvious that it's about a broken family that is being put back together again by fate, which would include a type of process of elimination.
Sorry that you feel that way. I feel quite differently about her since they have brought her and Miles away from their introductory adolescent argument days, which is what I would hope they would do, since it's obvious that she is connected to something bigger than herself.
ReplyDeleteI agree that he will choose Rachel too, although I think Nora will make it easy for him, but it's not that it's just Rachel is Charlie's mom, but it it that he is also most likely Charlie's father and both characters (Rachel and Miles along with Tom) need to be led to redemption through their prodigal daughter...IMO that's what the bigger arc is.
My problem with Charlie is that she gets herself in trouble in every episode and then someone have to (or they feel like they have to) rescue her or search for her or... Yeah, you get my point.
ReplyDeleteYeah, Nora will probably sacrifice herself to save Charlie and/or Rachel´s life. Problem solved, and Miles is not forced to make a hard or painful choice. As usual.
I know you are probably right about Miles being Charlie´s father, but for me, I really hope they don´t go down that road.
I think Nora's gonna be gone, too. I may not like everybody equally on this show, but she's the only one I never cared about.
