As you know each year prior to the any episodes airing we ask the knowledgeable SpoilerTV Community to try an predict which shows will be Renewed and which ones Cancelled.
Last year we had an 80% success rate that you can see here in this table.
With FOX yesterday announcing their schedule (See here) it's time again to see if you can predict which shows will be renewed/cancelled.
There are 2 Polls below. One for Renewals and one for Cancellations. In each poll select the show(s) that you think will either be renewed/cancelled and then press vote.
Before the season starts we will collate all the predictions and post the table that we'll update during the 2013/14 season to see how your predictions went.
Can we beat 80%?
Note: We will be doing the same of the other broadcast networks after they have released their schedule.

Can i just compliment the person who came up with this idea? Its a super fun feature :)
ReplyDeleteThanks @Rida glad you enjoy it. This is the 3rd year we've been doing it :)
ReplyDeleteIt's always interesting to see if the SpoilerTV readers can predict which shows will succeed with just their descriptions, photos and early promos to go on.
OUAT in Wonderland at the death slot, therefore my first pick for show that will get cancelled.
ReplyDeleteBetrayal looks screwed, given its timeslot.
ReplyDeleteLucky 7 does not seem very appealing.
Couple of the comedies will fall probably
Renewed:
ReplyDeleteAgents of Shield (really anyone who does NOT expect this to run for years is deluding themselves)
OUAT
OUAT In Wonderland.
Revenge (maybe, not sure on this)
i actually think that OUATIW will succeed...
ReplyDeleteHoping OUATiW and SHIELD are the first ABC dramas to get pick-ups but can't say for sure.
ReplyDeleteBack in the Game wont even air a full season, it'll be cancelled even before the 8 episode season 8 (probably the final season) of Psych airs in 2014 and Maggie Lawson will have disrupted Psych's final season for nothing. According to sources at USA Network she will be appearing in most of season 8. She is currently filming Psych right now. The network ordered 5 more scripts of Psych but i doubt they will add them to the season now that Maggie is working on this crap. I mean come on she is just Juliet O'Hara with a baseball bat. Also with baseball as a theme the show has ZERO appeal for overseas market. Modern Family, Castle, Once Upon A Time and S.H.I.E.L.D. are the only shows that interest me on this network, all the rest is just a waste of air time.
ReplyDeleteI concur! It's a great idea! I hope you leave it going for a bit more during the summer though, I need more time to get used to the shows and make up my mind before voting! I also need full schedule information from all networks to evaluate competition and all that. Personally, I find new midseason shows the hardest one to predict because we know very little about them and we know nothing about its schedule or its competition or lead-in or how are the ratings for the overall network by then. Really tricky!
ReplyDeleteShield and Resurrection are the only two that even remotely interest me. YIKES!
ReplyDeleteI just cannot believe that ABC cancelled so many shows for this crop of series!! XD
Really hope SHIELD does well :) I'm hoping for some fun and interesting cameos throughout the season!
ReplyDeleteI hope so too. Those are definitely must-watches for me.
ReplyDeleteMy guesses for returning shows:
ReplyDeleteCastle: Renewal
Once Upon a Time: Renewal
Revenge: Renewal
Scandal: Renewal
Nashville: Renewal (though not nearly as obvious as all the other veterans)
Grey's Anatomy: Hard to say as for the most part will not depend on ratings. I will go with renewal
Modern Family: Renewal
The Middle: Renewal
Suburgatory: Renewal
Last Man Standing: Renewal
The Neighbors: Tossup... Renewal
New Fall Shows (and it gets tricky here):
Shield: Renewal
Wonderland: It is such a tossup.. I want to say renewal but I will go with canceled
Lucky 7: Canceled
Betrayal: Canceled
The Goldbergs: Renewal
Trophy Wife: Canceled
Back in the Game: Canceled
Super Fun Night: Canceled
New Midseason Shows (this ones are completely crazy to predict since we don't even know scheduling, but):
Killer Women: Canceled
Mind Games: Canceled
Mixology: I want to say renewal badly but I will go with canceled
Resurrection: I think this has the best shot out of all their midseason dramas, but stll going with canceled
I think 2 of the new comedies will make it somehow, but it is hard to predict which. The Goldbergs seems the safest bet since it is so much in brand with ABC. Back in the game doesn't look compelling to me, so I don't see it lasting, and it will likely enjoy little patience than usual from ABC since Suburgatory is ready to reclaim the slot at any moment. Trophy Wife is tricky. It could work, but I think it would be too much luck for ABC to have 2 out of the 3 new hours on Tuesday working. I think it will go half-half. But if the goldbergs really works, then this one is the most likely to work out of the 4. As for Super Fun Night, I know some people think it is a safe bet but I think it is off brand for ABC and I honestly thought the trailer looked pretty bad. I think it will open big, but I doubt it will sustain an audience. I would love for Mixology to be the dark horse, but it is hard to tell without scheduling info. And again, it is so much off brand that I am not sure that it even has a shot at ABC. In theory, it should have followed Shield which would be way more compatible (together with Super Fun Night) and leave the family stuff for wednesday, but I guess they have learned from last year that young skewing comedies are just screwed facing new girl (plus the voice), so I think they made the right call in the end.
As for the dramas, if they can get shield to hit really big, which seems to be the priority, I think they will be happy. I would love for Wonderland to work, and I actually think it has the best shot out of all the previous slot owners since Flash Forward of succeeding, but that it not saying much. I would be shocked if Killer Women or Betrayal made it, and I would also be pretty surprised if Lucky 7 worked. Mind Games could work if it has the quality and nice scheduling, and so could The Returned, but I am viewing them both as long shots.
Overall, I am probably over-canceling stuff, but as I have no way to know the "who is safer within the non safe" thing, I am going conservative.
Yeah looking forward to those two as well. Also Mixology but that one is midseason and likely DOA
ReplyDeleteRevenge will be renewed, it is on its third season, which almost guarantees a 4th for syndication purposes. It would have to completely collapse to not have one. Also, they will have plenty of drama bombs on their hands already.
ReplyDeleteI think it has the best shot at succeeding that any show has had in the timeslot ever since Flashforward. It should have a decent fanbase going in already while having the shot at capturing new eyeballs as well, since the promo was quite well done. It is also more compatible with Grey's Anatomy than most of the stuff they've tried there and the competition is probably not focused on the exact same type of audience. I still went with canceled, but it could work as well. I certainly hope it does!
