It's official. I'm done with Tiva. They've pushed it back, YET AGAIN, with the whole friends thing. F*ck it! The writers have gone from teasing to remarkably annoying. This is without a doubt the most annoying ship in the history of television.
I remember one particular show called JAG, where they waited to get the main relationship together until the last five minutes of the show. I don't have confidence in them at all.
Oh please, please don't tell me Gibbs killed Fornell....na.he shot the guy already down or someone else..I just knew nothing was going to happen between Ziva and Tony....much to early,if it happens it will be mid season next year....
But how did you forgot the words that came out of Tonys mouth? 'i will never get involved with a co worker, especially if they do like each other because then they wouldn't be able to work in the same department,or even the same building. But next season he will say his heart wants what his heart wants, and that is when it will all fall into place...just as long as its the last season!
I'm so angry at Glasberg for teasing Tiva for several episodes, and then having Ziva say "Let's just be friends". (It's also going to be a feeding frenzy for Ziva haters saying "Poor Tony, he loves her and she doesn't deserve him.)
Eight seasons they've been teasing Tiva, and it's one step forward, two steps back. Meanwhile, in the NCIS:LA promo, there's a kiss between Deeks and Kenzi after only 2 seasons.
Even if there are four months of no Rule 12, as the audience we're not going to be seeing it. The show will just jump ahead four months, and then at the end of the first episode, the team will be co-workers again.
This is NCIS, the fact that the rule is no longer in play won't matter. They'll very likely completely ignore it. Congrats to the writers, they've officially become the first TV show to EVER make me stop chasing the damn carrot. Considering that's one of the main reasons I watched this show, it's going to take a minor miracle to make me watch next season.
OMG NCIS! Gibbs cannot shoot his wife! My OTP! Uggg!
And Tiva people, for the record, your ship isn't ruined. All Ziva said was that she never intended to hurt him and that his friendship means too much to her. Tony responded the only way he could - with grace. They've been friends so long that moving it forward is a scary prospect.
Besides, do you really want them to be kissing in this episode when you know that you're gonna miss everything that happens in the next four months? I wouldn't if it were my ship.
Again, that last scene: WTF? NOOOOOO! #FibbsForever
I get that they're endgame. But endgame could be another 5 years. I waited with JAG, and the last 3 minutes wasn't worth the wait. Did Cote sign a new contract?
This! And the look they shared in the bullpen when he said he could handle her? That was not "just friends".
They are getting there. They've made so much progress this season - and the past four or five episodes - alone. It won't be easy since they both have issues, but it'll happen.
Ziva obviously loves him. And she hesitated when calling him a friend. They've been making so much progress and I have faith that they're getting there, just slowly.
I am 100% sure it'll happen next season for sure this time.
And again, Gary wasn't in charge of JAG. He's been in charge for the past two years and I love the direction he's gone with Tiva. They've made so much progress and we wouldn't be where we are with Tiva if Shane Brennan was still in charge.
It's not going to be five years. It'll happen for sure next season.
And we don't know whether Cote's signed a new contract or not, but I'm pretty sure it has/will happen.
It was the other way around, Ziva said she could handle him by herself, to which Tony replied "yes, she can." They're sort of hinting that something has already happened between them, but off-screen, something that won't be addressed until later, I wouldn't hold my breath however, shippers were convinced that something happened between them in Paris, and that was a couple of seasons ago and they still haven't brought that up.
Oops, you're right. I got so excited about that scene that I forgot what was going on for a second.
Gary was not in charge then. I've never been this interested in the show in the five years I've been watching and I'm so excited for season eleven because of the direction he's taken the show.
I'm quite interested in season 11 too, but definitely not for Tiva, I don't care what happens between them. As long as it doesn't alter the team dynamic too much, they can get together, or keep playing cat and mouse, I'm fine either way. But I can't wait to see what Gibbs' mission was about, and how the team gets back together (cause if they don't there's not much of a show left), especially after Tony, Ziva and McGee copped to breaking the law as means to justify ends, if's not exactly easy for a federal agent to come back from that, they're supposed to do everything by the book.
It seems to have taken Glasburg a couple of years to get his footing right with this show. I really didn't enjoy seasons 8/9 very much(individual eps sure but not overall): stories didn't flow into each other and balls were dropped - some almost as soon as they were picked up. Too much network(outside) interference or not enough - hard to say. But this year has been the best since 6. Really enjoyed it, looking forward to eleven. lol. I like the work Hellatus.
Alex p.s. Jetlag was a fun, fluffy episode that people read way to much into. Nothing happened -both actors and the writer have said that. Besides, that ep was way to soon after Somalia for Ziva to realistically be sleeping with anyone.
It depends on how many season they have left. But be sure we are going to have another JAG, them deciding to be togehter like 8 minutes before the show ends. ¬¬
I agree, the Tiva ship isn't ruined. What is spoiled is the chance of them getting together in any realistic way. I foresee next season, just like seasons 3 - 10, where the writers tease them, but never actually make any moves to getting them together.
And then, in the last 5 minutes of the last episode, they'll make a move, just like Harm and Mac in JAG. One may be Glasberg's show-running and the other Bellasarius', but the path they trod is remarkable similar.
Oh, I agree that Ziva loves him because I am a Tiva shipper. For us, we're supposed to take away from the scene that Ziva loves him and is afraid of destroying their relationship. For non-shippers, they are given a scene where Ziva cuts down Tony's feelings for her. Once again, the show wants to have it both ways.
I love your enthusiasm about Tiva (even though this episode made me give up hope).
@LondonAlex: Ah, Somalia. Another topic the writers never bothered to explore. I agree that it's taken awhile for GG to find his footing. This season has been better than the last few years. It has been more cohesive and the arcs were more interesting. Plus I don't think I'll ever forget Ziva's reaction to Eli's death.
Re Tiva, I'm pretty sure their definition of friendship is not the one universally acknowledged by the rest of us. Do I think they're together? No. I do think that they've come closer than ever to being on the same page though. I do agree with Aydrian that it's so frustrating because the payoff that we've been teased with all season long was nowhere to be seen. Despite it all, I'm convinced we'll have a Harm/Mac 2.0 here too even with Bellisario out of the picture because really, except for maybe a handful of shows, prime time television writers just don't seem to know or care about how to write an established relationship AND keep the ratings up without trying to break them up (I'm looking at you Bones!).
I enjoyed the episode. I also think Parsons has a point. His methods may be suspect but Team Gibbs really have been quite cavalier with the rules. I especially didn't like how Gibbs stabbed Dearing, so this arc bring light to a lot of my concerns as well. Of course the CIA offed Kazmi, did we really think it was Bodnar? I waited till the very end for Fornell and wasn't disappointed! A good season and fitting finale imo. I don't think anyone thinks Team Gibbs won't be reassembled by the end of episode one of season eleven, so I'm not worried. Just stop with the teasing ffs! Either get them together or let them move on.
There was enough of a pause from what they showed in Gibbs' sight to the shot for someone to get out of the car IMO - I reckon Gibbs took out whoever Fornell was guarding but no clue who it is.
Tony and Ziva will eventually be together.........I am in no rush. Let that pot keep simmering. It is obvious that they are in love. Patience people patience. Beside where does it go once they seal the deal...do they have to break up the team because husband and wife cant work together. What if she gets pregnant does she leave NCIS ......think it through people it would complicate the show on so many levels,,,,,,,BTW Gibbs is going to shoot the person that getting out of the car....that Fornell is guarding.
As much as i love tiva to become a couple, this show is too good to stop watching only because they're not yet together! i love their interactions, yes, it's been 8 years and it's frustrating, but i won't quit cause they're not together. Come on, it's not the main story there. This episode was insanely good and i did not expect that end! I'm now very confused and I JUST WANT TO WATCH THE PREMIERE ASAP, someone has a time machine or something'??
While I enjoyed everyone teaming up to take down that brown-nosed DoD snot there were certain parts that just bugged me like the scenes with Mike Franks and the whole Tiva thing going sideways AGAIN
yep. but in my opinion, although i was annoyed with all the teasing of harm and mac, in the end i was satisfied. and all the teasing made sense. caus personally, i think the best part of watching romance, the characters falling in love, not really being in a relationship.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeleteWhoa. Whoa. That's pretty much all I got.
ReplyDeleteLoved everything about the finale! I wish Chegwidden had mentioned Harm and Mac once. That's all I asked for, damn it!
The Tony/Ziva scene was adorable.
WHAT THE FUCK AT THE END. I'm guessing Gibbs shot the guy he was with, not Fornell.
Ah, did you see the hesitation and the look in the bullpen? And Gary said they're slowly getting there and I trust him. It's happening.
ReplyDeleteI hate waiting, but they're endgame. I'm not worried about them at all.
I remember one particular show called JAG, where they waited to get the main relationship together until the last five minutes of the show. I don't have confidence in them at all.
ReplyDeleteExcept that guy? No longer in charge. It's a completely different person now. I doubt that'll happen again.
ReplyDeleteOh please, please don't tell me Gibbs killed Fornell....na.he shot the guy already down or someone else..I just knew nothing was going to happen between Ziva and Tony....much to early,if it happens it will be mid season next year....
ReplyDeleteThere are no words to describe how awesome this episode!! My mind is blown!

I'm with you! Next fall, I'm done with NCIS and will happily watch Agents of SHIELD instead. Did you hear that CBS? I'm jumping ship to ABC. DONE!

Never been a Tiva fan so I'm good with it.
ReplyDeleteWTF!!
ReplyDeleteI hope you guys aren't watching the show just because you are waiting for Tiva
ReplyDeleteAhem, four seasons. Still Densi is SO far ahead of Tiva it's not even funny.

ReplyDeleteDo you really think, that saying, that she didn't wan't to hurt him means that she loves him?
ReplyDeleteWhat I noticed is the way they touching each other - the kiss of Tony on her forehead, her hand on his chest... :)))
Did I was seeing things? or Ziva slapped Tony in the butt, when they were talking to McGee ??? That's a intimate gesture...and funny !!
ReplyDeleteOh my God, I thought I was just seeing things because no one else mentioned it!
ReplyDeleteSo, yeah! she did! :). Tony even move forward and close his eyes for a second...then he smile... XD Sorry , I make that just to my hubby!!!
ReplyDeleteI really hope that Gibbs doesn't shoot Fornell! It was so good to see Franks again, if only they could find someway to bring him back permanently!
ReplyDeleteZiva was great this episode. The whole team was great and I takes a lot of gut to quit. Can't wait for next season!
