Excellent! There really was a lot going on. The meeting between the zombie master and the royal family, I did not see that coming. And Grimmsters, we've been introduced to the new, bolder Juliette! Favorite line of the evening: "Let me put these flowers in water before they woge."
IT would have been a perfect opportunity to have an ad for the episode with t song "Volga" set to Madonna's Vogue! XD
I can see it now....
A good table-setter episode for the finale. I like the Roal sub-plot and want to see more of it. Nice to see James Frain again, but the man needs a hair cut! XD
I was bored most of the time...I really don't care for the whole Adalind Subplot, not at all - but it also makes no sense. Wasn't Frau Pech the one who made the contact in the first place? And the stereotyping of Gypsy's is more than uncomfortable to watch. Every time they show Europe I roll my eyes, because it looks so unreal. Stick to Portland, show! The Zombies....would have been more interesting if they amounted to anything. The reveal was nice, but too freaking long...and I'm totally tired of Juliette keeping to apologize to Nick, while he never apologize at all. Not even for acting like a dick during the first dinner...and yes, I know he was under a spell, but so was Juliette. Never mind that he owes her some major growling (or at least an explanation) for keeping her in the dark for so long.
I had the same concern. I fear that they'll either kill her off or they'll take the stereotypical route in this kind of story and Juliette will almost die and Nick will walk away to protect her. I don't want either option.
I was thinking that she's going to try to be ok with a world of vessan, but then realize one day that she just isn't, and leave Nick. Not everyone can, or should, be as cool with this as Hank.
I totally agree about Adalind but not at all about Nick. Every time Adalind is on screen the momentum seems to halt. I am sure the royal blood plot will become huge in the future but this is a lot of set up time for a character I cannot stand. As for teh zombies, I felt the same thing right until the Zombie Baron met with Prince Eric. Then it became part of a whole larger plan and I'm interested in seeing how zombies fit into his scheme for both Nick and Renard.
I don't think Nick has anything to apologize for. However I also would like Juliette to stop apologizing too. Quite frankly Juliette has become as boring as Adalind and they need to stop shoe horning her in as if they have no idea what to do with the character. The amnesia and love spell plots were dragged out so long that I was hoping a Wesen would get her just so I didn't have to see any more of them. It has felt like they put her on screen simply to fulfill contractual time and that is never fun for me as a viewer. If Juliette survives the Zombie Apocalypse, and out of all the main characters she's the one I could without most, then they need to make her an integral part of the Grimm story next season.
I loved how staunchly opinionated Bud was this time around. He's usually very apologetic and wishy-washy. This time though, in spite of his freaking out, he was very specific and very firm in his opposition to well, everything basically. :)
Very true, but even more I love how he was still funny while doing it. I am tired of douchebags fighting things out. Bud was adamant and for good reason, but still goodnatured. He cared, made his point, and made me laugh. A trifecta of goodness. What a change!
I was getting the same feeling! Actually, when Juliette was preparing dinner and there was a knock at the door, I was really nervous that it was going to be Renard's brother, there to kidnap or kill her or something, thus ending Nick's hope/happiness. Thankfully, the episode ended with a happier outcome.
Agreed. I especially liked that Juliette took all the Grimm stuff so well! And Bud's accidental volga? was funny, endearing, and just awesome. He was actually my favorite part of the episode.
For me that is a problem with Merlin's writers and show runners, not a grace for Grimm. That would be like saying the sloth is fast because it can beat a banana slug.
I was merely trying to compare the notion of 'dragging things out'. It happens in a lot of (if not all) shows to keep the audience going. Unfortunately it usually annoys the most loyal fans. Although my knowledge on sloths and banana slugs is limited, Í think it is valid to compare writers of two different shows and the way they move the story line on.
A brilliant episode. Grimm has definitely become my favourite show this season. I love the way the writers are moving on the story line. Can't wait for the final and then next season!
I was surprised that the zombie plan was part of Prince Eric's attack on the Grimm too. It made the so-so plot line of this episode a lot better because I could see it had a point besides to have zombies on Grimm.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Bud was the star of this episode as far as I'm concerned.
ReplyDeleteI feel like the other shoe is going to drop with Juliette. I'm not sure why I feel that, but I can't shake it. Hope I'm wrong though.

ReplyDeleteLoved the reveal to Juliette, (especially twitchy Bud) the rest was just ok... all setup
ReplyDeleteBud was great.

ReplyDeleteThat was fun! Tonight I got to enjoy both Bud and Wu. Yay! And Juliette took woge in stride. Kewl.

ReplyDeleteBlanket agreement. How nice to have a civil, amusing disagreement instead of the usual turn that situation would take on other shows.
ReplyDeleteI agree. Although, Bud really shines in all of his appearances for me.

ReplyDeleteI need to learn to be as concise as you are here. You summed up all of the parts I liked from this episode. And "I agree". :)
ReplyDeletethank you. i'm usually extremely long winded, so i appreciate the..um...appreciation.
