Zero Day and God Mode for me :)
ReplyDeleteSame for me :D
ReplyDeletePrisoner's Dilemma wowed me the most then Zero Day was equally amazing.
ReplyDeleteGotta say I liked all of them for various reasons. But if I had to pick one that stood out just a bit more: Bury the Lede. It is was big HR episode and it was fun watching Reese trying to protect someone without letting them know who he was.
ReplyDeleteZero Day and God Mode, hands down.
ReplyDeleteIts full of brilliant things: Lots of Root, lots of lore stuff, lots of intense twists, lots of Root. Did I mention it had lots of Root?
I got 4 favorites, I think: Bad Code, Dead Reckoning, Zero Day and God Mode.
ReplyDeleteBut I voted for the last two, this was one amazing finale!
2.13 – Dead Reckoning
ReplyDeleteReese is abducted by an old acquaintance planning a massive act of cyber-warfare that could lead to Reese’s death.
^ This was imo the climax of the season. And when afterwards things just got really uninteresting! sorry dear fans but that's what I think ..
All were great except for Proteus.
ReplyDeleteFor me this is the most consistently excellent show on TV. So hard to choose! My top four would be Bad Code, Relevance, Zero Day and God Mode. But I wouldn't have gotten rid of a single episode if I had the choice. Can't wait for more!
ReplyDeleteSeason 2 of Person Of Interest was so good. It has now officially replaced Fringe for me. What the second season did so well was expand the story and tie it all back to the original plot of the show. There are so many things that we learned, and it all works with what we learned in the Pilot. Plus, they tied up some plot elements a lot faster than I expected. The FBI's hunt for Reese, the CIA/Kara Stanton, the evil government Finch mentioned in the first episode... Finch's limp was explained, Reese learned the truth about Jessica's death (an easter egg in episode 2!), Detective Stills (the man Reese shot in the Pilot) got a backstory tied to Fusco, even the fact that the Machine erases its data was explained in a major way.
ReplyDeleteAnyway!
There's five episodes that stood out for me, all of them mythology heavy.
2x12 Prisoner's Dilemma - 9.7
Reese being arrested was always an exciting storyline in my opinion. This episode just executed that perfectly. It was the first time the POI storyline was the B-plot, so that was a plus already. The scenes with Reese in prison were very good and the episode was filled with great character moments. I love how they tied it up, with Donnelly dying because of Kara Stanton (of ALL things!) and I was genuinely sad about his death.
2x21 Zero Day - 9.3
Fantastic episode. Very well written, very exciting and very action packed. It's always great to find out more about what the Machine is capable of... Creating an entire identity for itself? Whoa. Good stuff.
2x16 Relevance - 9.2
First of all, a very bold but cool move to focus on the other side of the Machine business for an entire episode. Not only did the episode introduce a good character in a very good way, but it also gave us some context of Reese's and Finch's roles in the story, which made me appreciate those two characters a lot more as well. This episode really was something special.
2x22 God Mode - 9.1
Well, I said all of that yesterday. Great finale. The flashbacks were SO good and the present storyline was very exciting. The twist that Finch had all of this planned was pretty cool and I did not see it coming. The hints about the season 3 storylines were very exciting as well.
2.01 The Contingency - 9.0
This episode felt very cinematic somehow. The Finch/Root scenes were among the best of the show and added some real depth to both characters. The idea of machines taking over that Root mentioned was a very intriguing thing at the time. Again, we learned a lot about Finch and the Machine in the flashbacks. The POI storyline was a lot of fun to watch!
My favourite ''irrelevant'' episodes were Bury The Lede, Shadow Box, One Percent and All In.
My top 5:
ReplyDelete1) 2.12 – Prisoner’s Dilemma
2) 2.22 – God Mode
3) 2.21 – Zero Day
4) 2.16 – Relevance
5) 2.02 – Bad Code
How about a Top Ten!
ReplyDeleteRevalence
Zero Day
In Extremis
Dead Reckoning
One Percent
Proteus
God Mode
The High Road
Booked Solid
2 Pi R
Zero Day, followed very close by Prisoner's Dilemma :)
ReplyDeleteGod Mode = Zero Day = Prisonner's Dillema > Dead Reckoning > Relevance
ReplyDeleteAnd Proteus & One Percent as the best 'procedural' episodes
ReplyDeleteMy top 6:
ReplyDelete1) 2.21 – Zero Day
2) 2.22 – God Mode
3) 2.12/2.13 – Prisoner's Dilemma and Dead Reckoning (tied)
4) 2.16 – Relevance
5) 2.19 - Trojan Horse
6) 2.01 – The Contingency
Plus; Bury The Lege, Shadow Box, 2 Pi R, Bad Code, Critical and In Extremis
As long as it's a... Prisoner's Dilemma.
ReplyDelete*badumtssh*
Ah. I see what you did there. Good play, sir. ;)
ReplyDeleteNot enough votes for the Zoe episodes...
ReplyDeleteMy love for that episode is endless!
ReplyDeleteGod mode doesn't deserve that popularity.
ReplyDeletevery well elaborated, for me each episode is best in it's own sense but the penultimate and finale was nothin short of epic
ReplyDeletewell different people different views but yes they should have made this the finale of season 2 and the decima storyline should have ended in season 3
ReplyDeleteamazing it sure was
ReplyDeleteRelevance and Zero Day for me. Two of the best episodes of the series.
ReplyDeleteI loved both Zero Day and God Mode, fantastic episodes. But something about Reese walking out of Prison to The Who's "Eminence Front" was Epic. Also loved the "booked solid" episode. Very underrated.
ReplyDeleteEvery episode is perfect..!!
ReplyDeletePicking a single favorite episode from a POI season is really hard. Good dilemma to have, isn't it? ;)
