It was a busy day in pre-upfront broadcast network land, with Fox deciding the fate of all of its pilots (nine picked up to series, six dead) and NBC narrowing down the field by passing on 7 pilots. No major surprises, with none of the hot NBC pilots getting the axe. That includes frontrunners on the drama side Blacklist and Crisis (Rand Ravich), which are moving on, along with Ironside, Believe, I Am Victor and After Hours as well as strong comedies About A Boy, Welcome To The Family, Family Guide, Assistance, Sean Hayes, and Undateable, plus dark horses Craig Robinson and John Mulaney and even darker horse Robert Padnick.

What about Super Clyde?
ReplyDeleteI'm keeping my fingers crossed for The Selection.
ReplyDeleteCW : I hope that The Tomorrow People , the 100 and Reign will be picked.
ReplyDeleteBut i hope that they will change their mind and choose The Selection and cancel Oxygen. Mainly because of its cast.
so Intelligence is dead? what happened?
ReplyDeletePraying for a "The Selection" pickup.
ReplyDeleteHoping there is still hope for the selection other sites were calling oxygen dead
ReplyDeletewhat do you think, will the selection be picked up? :)
ReplyDeleteI have no idea personally i really hope it does though ive been rooting for it since last year! We will likely know in a few days i assume cw will do pickups on monday
ReplyDeleteI hope someone else takes Delirium. This show would fit best either the CW or ABCFamily.
ReplyDeleteThis is the one I want the most. You would think they would pick it up since they seemed pretty passionate about it and they gave it another shot.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like Beverly Hills Cop and Hostages have been frontrunners from the beginning, but Hostages also might run in shorter seasons like the Following does. Even with comedy expansion, CBS could pick probably two more dramas, at least one of which will likely be CBS studios, and while Backstrom was floated as a non-CBS studios drama, it could easily be something else like Intelligence (unless other sites are saying its dead for some reason). If CBS passes on it, ABC could pick it up instead since it is from ABC studios, but that is unlikely.
ReplyDeleteI really hope they choose Intelligence over yet another NCIS show.
yeah, maybe in a couple years it will resurface and be retooled. it did have promise. but yeah, i am definitely stoked for rake, almost human and gang related. sleepy hollow looks sleepy to me. not sure how that will turn out.
ReplyDeletedoesn't 'gotham' still have a pulse? http://www.spoilertv.com/2012/07/spoilertv-20133-full-pilot-watch.html (under the title 'gotham')
ReplyDeleteso now that we know what fox's drama new series are for the fall and we can anticipate nbc's (i predict it's going to be crisis, blacklist, believe, chicago fire spinoff, ironside, dracula and crossbones); which series do you all think will be picked up by abc, cw, and cbs? this is what i think will be picked up (in terms of dramas):
ABC:
S.H.I.E.L.D.
Big Thunder
OUAT in Wonderland
Lucky Seven
Murder in Manhattan
The Returned
Influence
CW:
The 100
Oxygen
Reign
The Tomorrow People
CBS:
NCIS Red
Beverly Hills Cop
Hostages
Intelligence
Backstrom
Note: The Originals is already picked up by CW
I was so excited about Delirium until I saw the cast & all of the changes they did. I think condensing the entire first book into the pilot episode was a mistake, too. I always personally thought Delirium would be better as a movie than a weekly series anyway.
ReplyDeletenever knew it was a book, til now... is it good?
ReplyDeleteI think Lucky Seven, if picked up, will be for midseason. I've seen both series of the British version and it can get boring pretty quickly so if ABC is smart they will just do 13 or less episodes of it (without the back 9 option).
ReplyDeletehow is the british version? is it good?
ReplyDeleteI really liked the first season and am midway through the second (that I'm enjoying but not as much as the first). The first was pretty good overall, with every episode focusing mostly on one of the main characters.
ReplyDeleteFor the second season they completely changed the cast and settings.
It's called "The Syndication" if you want to check it out ;)
Still dislike the idea of the cw picking up reign instead of the selection. Bummed about intelligence, i really don't think it will make it. Also would like to see more mentions of super clyde. At least the 100 and big thunder still appear to be very much in the mix!
ReplyDeleteThere is no chance that cbs picks up more than 4 dramas, as they have never done so in recent years (As far as I can think), and especially because this year they are likely to expand comedy hours, which means even less room for dramas. Picking up only beverly hill cops and ncis red wouldn't shock me to be honest, although i suppose a third one for midseason is more likely.
ReplyDeleteReally? I didn't know that. That gives me hope.
ReplyDeleteNot looking likely unfortunately :S
ReplyDeleteYeah, it is really annoying me that they will pass up on intelligence and pick Red. I really wanted intelligence!
ReplyDeletePersonally, i would do the 100, the tomorrow people, the selection and oxygen. Reign is the one i would cut, even though if it is before oxygen and the selection i prefer the selection
ReplyDeleteThis!! I would think that a show with a freaking Harry Potter star would be a front runner. I think it has a shot though because it looks like Crazy Ones will get a pick up and I doubt CBS will pair it with a multicam
ReplyDeleteIt's a trilogy actually. I've only read the first two so far, though. They were both good. I've heard the final book in the Delirium Trilogy was underwhelming, though. :( That's why I've been putting off reading it. The Divergent Trilogy is better, though, in my opinion. They're making movies from the Divergent Trilogy.
