Where is Hannibal? was canceled?
ReplyDeleteNo word is expected until the end of next week or even the week after
ReplyDeleteooh, exciting.
ReplyDeleteI hope Revolution gets a good slot. I think it will struggle without a good lead in.
Be interesting to see where they put Believe and The Blacklist. Looking forward to them
The list of returning shows is so small wow. Wild predictions they may move away from Thursdays as comedy nights. I wouldn't be too surprised if they shifted to Parks to a Friday (I know I know!). Community will be 13 eps personally I feel like they should show it in Fall not wait until Spring.
ReplyDelete@Toni BatistaNo decision has yet been made about Hannibal
ReplyDeletethey need to make huge changes, like stop doing comedies on thursday
ReplyDeleteThe CW has the same quantity of returning shows!!
ReplyDeleteLOL
I don't know where will they premiere so many dramas. My guess is something in the lines of:
ReplyDeleteMondays: New Drama after The Voice
Tuesday: Believe and Revolution after The Voice
Wednesday: Community and Parks to take over the 8pm hour, svu and chicago fire remain put
Thursday: all new comedies, parenthood finishes off the night
Friday: A new show premieres out of grimm, dateline takes over at 10
This is not necessarily what I think should happen (although it is a good plan) but what I think will happen
also, as the show is only going to be in 13 episode seasons, NBC defiantly, if renewed, won't air it in the fall.
ReplyDeleteI expect a lot from NBC right now ! It's the ultimate chance to start again for the channel ! I hope good choices will be made and a great schedule for a new beginning !
ReplyDeleteMidseason, plus I think they're going to cut the comedy slots.
ReplyDeleteHatfields and mccoys would have been an awesome companion show for parenthood..
ReplyDeleteREVOLUTION AT WEDNESDAYS AT 8PM, ARE THEY SERIOUS?!
ReplyDeleteI just realized Parenthood will most likely be going up against Scandal next year . I don't like that one bit.
ReplyDeleteChicago Fire after the Voice I am surprised I would have expected them to launch a new show. Dracula on a Friday? Huh and Crossbones weird night to launch new dramas.
ReplyDeleteBelieve on Sundays, are they mental?!
ReplyDeleteNot sure how I feel about Revolution moving to Wednesdays, but I'm relieved that I won't have three shows on at 10 on Mondays!
ReplyDeleteAlso where is Community??
ReplyDeleteAnd Chicago PD isn't on either schedule right?
ReplyDeleteI was right !!! Dracula and Grimm are together
ReplyDeleteYour right and if Hannibal was to come back not sure where it would go (well it would be mid-season and I imagine some of the shows in the fall won't get a back 9)
ReplyDeleteDamn. They had to annoy me and put Blacklist up against Castle. I do like what NBC is doing with Grimm on Fridays.
ReplyDeleteSeriously, Revolution against Arrow? And what would they do if Dracula accidentally succeeds?..
ReplyDeleteNo Community ?
ReplyDeleteHate:
ReplyDelete- Chicago Fire does not need the voice lead-in, it was fine with SVU's! Why wouldn't they give it to ironside?! Such a random move!
- Revolution will not be able to held its own Wednesdays at 8 most likely. BTW, I still like the move a bit just because so many people told me that Revolution was too "gore" for it to be an 8pm show even though I argued that idea was non sense.
- Not the best usage for the biggest looser. Why not put a new drama there and then use the biggest looser on sundays for the two hours it is worth?!
- Believe on Sundays!!! Damn you NBC!!!!
Love:
- Only 4 hours of comedies (although I am not sure they are properly mixed up)
- Parenthood to Thursdays at 10pm, finally
- I like the Dracula/Crossbones thing with Grimm on Fridays but I would advance everything up an hour and have Dateline at 10 instead.
Also, where is the chicago fire spinoff btw? I have no idea how it will fit since they seem keen on keeping Chicago Fire a 10pm show
Like Friday, rest of the week there is nothing. And no way in hell is that Midseason Sunday going to look like that come January
ReplyDeleteMidseason to replace a failed comedy for sure
ReplyDeleteSorry NBC; the few things that DO look interesting take second or third position behind CBS, ABC and cable.
ReplyDeleteI''m not sure I expect a lot from NBC, but I am hoping for good results!
ReplyDeleteI prefer when all 4 major networks have shows I like on them, or at least all have hit shows even if I don't watch.
Mostly I would like each of the networks to break out of their comfort zone! ABC has been airing shows that all feel the same to me after half a season or so. Fox at least tries different things once in a while, but they do tend to be very gimmicky to me. CBS of course runs on procedural Crime Dramas. NBC has been trying a lot of new things out of necessity seeing as they have been struggling at the bottom looking up for years.
NBC shift to some genre shows, more serialized shows and trying to do something somewhat original has paid off somewhat. Now, they need to build on what they have and hope something sticks I guess.
Good luck NBC!
damn bestt pilots r midseason
ReplyDeleteOh its just been removed from Futon Critic being held till 2.15 wonder if this will explain some of the missing shows.
ReplyDeleteGood point, hopefully they will tell them this in advance so we don't get Halloween/Thanksgiving/Christmas eps all in March time.
ReplyDeletehmm. TVOverMind just posted it though so maybe it's right?
ReplyDeleteWhat do you mean? What has been removed?
ReplyDeleteRevolution Wednesday... what a joke
ReplyDeleter u kidding me NBC
Worried about Revolution. I hope it does well on Wednesdays.
ReplyDeleteI love that this is the year they decided to do all these holiday episodes and they all aired months later.
ReplyDeleteWhile I don't like the revolution move, it is not because of Arrow. As for Dracula, it was only intended to have 10 episodes, so if it succeeds, it will likely come back the next fall again (much like the following)
ReplyDeleteAgree with others though moving Revolution is a huge risk it could completely collapse.
ReplyDeleteIt probably won't if it doesn't do well.
ReplyDeleteI find the lack of Hannibal disturbing.
ReplyDeleteI don't think Arrow can harm Revolution.
ReplyDeleteIt was so weird and then suddenly it was Spring! though they did reference it in the finale.
ReplyDeleteYeah I think so. Last year they had it scheduled for fridays, hence the problems. Now it is not scheduled anywhere. I was expecting it to have a fall placement actually and just keep the sacrificial lamb slot against TBBT.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad Grimm moved back to Friday night!
ReplyDeleteI find it odd that Chicago PD is nowhere to be seen as I would assume it would launch out of CF but since that is on at 10, it now seems unlikely. Maybe Ironside flops and it launches out of SVU?
ReplyDeleteAnd they're a much smaller network by comparison.
ReplyDeleteI think the new Revolution timeslot sucks, and none of their cool sounding new series like Believe are airing in the fall... Color me disappointed. :(
ReplyDeleteOh the post that Spoiler TV got the schedule from http://www.thefutoncritic.com/news.aspx?id=20130512nbc03#ff1JHOTzy11UvuJW.99
ReplyDelete"[via press release from NBC]
Sorry, just told it is now being held until 2:15 pm"
I agree. While I have argued for this move back in the fall when the show was stronger, I don't think it will hold its own in there now. Although if nothing else changes over at FOX or CBS, it will be the only drama at the time, and it isn't a particularly hard slot. But I still say it is not strong enough.
ReplyDeleteAgree 100%
ReplyDeleteAlso NBC is gonna destroy Grimm's success if they keep switching it.
ReplyDeleteI figured that was inevitable. It's one of the things that works, so why mess with it again?
ReplyDeleteI understand Revolution on Wednesday I guess...
ReplyDeleteIt has very little growth potential and has already dropped to the point where most of its viewers will keep watching no matter the lead-in. I'm not sure there would be as much upside keeping it behind The Voice. The new shows have hit potential (until they fail) and deserve the Voice lead-in IMO.
BTW, I'm happy with their Friday night too.
So far it seems to be holding its' own.
ReplyDeleteYeah pairing it with CF would make sense, NBC don't make sense ha
ReplyDeleteSo what is this schedule that we are seeing? Does it mean it is wrong?
ReplyDeleteI can't understand that they want to use The Voice for their new shows like I suspected they would.
ReplyDeleteI don't understand. The Voice will have 3 cycles? Also where is Hannibal and Community?
ReplyDeleteGrimm will be fine. A companion show is actually what it needed. And Dateline will also likely provide a more stable lead-in than Fashion Star ever did.
ReplyDeletethey lost their minds moving Parenthood to Thursdays at 10. Elementary!!!! it was perfectly fine where it was. now i'm upset. i hope they move Elementary, i can't watch both at the same time.
ReplyDeletemidseason sunday will have a hard time against abc sunday
ReplyDeleteIt would be a mid-season start if it does get renewed as from the start it has been planned as a 13 episode per season show, it best come back!
ReplyDeleteThe Olympics in Winter mean there is no need to bridge the voice cycles with the biggest looser.
ReplyDeleteUgh, Believe and Crisis on Sunday?! Parenthood on Thursday?! Revolution on Wednesday?! Damn you, NBC! At least Grimm, Dracula, and Crossbones are on Friday! Yay!
ReplyDeleteExcept that they are using it for Chicago Fire, which is not a new show.
ReplyDeleteChicago Fire makes no sense being there at all.
ReplyDeleteOh okay thanks!
ReplyDeleteIt is technically an easy slot for a drama, depending on what FOX and CBS do. But I am also not confident, I don't like the move.
ReplyDeleteWho says I care about Revolution?..
ReplyDeleteIts back up and its right, maybe they got asked to pull it because they want to release a press statement with it.
ReplyDeleteWhy did they move Revolution!!! Look what happened to Smash after it left The Voice!
ReplyDeleteDelighted Parks is still on a Thursday, can't keep Knope down.
ReplyDeleteAgain, NBC proves us that there is no way out! Their schedule is not what we expected. Putting Comedies on Thursday and P&R opening the night is the best way to assure the end of the new shows before they begins ! Revolution on Wednesday is suicide !
ReplyDeleteFor a year again they don't make the right choices ! We can't blame them but we'll see that in a few months !
But then, why even bother renewing it? I don't know, I can't get behind it. They are throwing it to the wolves. I think this idea that shows that are doing well on their own need to be put behind heavy lifters is a misconception. See what happened with grimm. Yeah, it went to 1.9 on tuesday, but that is most likely the jump it gets from getting out of fridays and that is it. I think heavy lifters should be used for new shows. Chicago Fire didn't need the help IMO... I thought Revolution to anchor Wednesdays was a great idea back in the fall but its ratings have fallen too much now. So either keep it around and give it the support it needs to survive or let it go IMO. I don't like their Tuesdays at all, I just don't. The Biggest Looser could also be a decent lead in for some new show or even revolution , but it will lead out the voice...
ReplyDeleteThey are not leaving enough open slots for giving back 9 to new shows. Without a lead in, if Revolution goes down to Smash levels, Arrow might even beat it.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, they moved it back to 8pm so it will get Big Banged in the ratings.
ReplyDeleteOh no.. goodbye Revolution!
ReplyDeleteYou can't say how many viewers will stick to Revolution until it's aired without The Voice.
ReplyDeleteI think NBC are probably just happy it does a fairly stable rating and well nothing can win against Big Bang Theory sadly.
ReplyDeleteI also don't like Believe and Crisis being on Sundays.
ReplyDeletePersonally I agree, why renew it. XD
ReplyDeleteAt some point I think a show needs to stand on its own. If Revolution NEEDS The Voice as a lead-in to survive is it worth saving? One of the new shows may well be strong enough to move to anchor its own night next year.
I do agree about the new shows should be after The Voice though...
The P&R ratings are stable but low. No one would expect the show to win against BBT but NBC would be nuts to think it would gain in the ratings either. They're just asking for more people to switch to DVR, On Demand, and internet viewing rather than watching it live.
ReplyDeleteI actually don't mind that move too much either
ReplyDeleteParenthood on Thursday is, IMO, a very good move.
ReplyDeleteThat is, IMO, one of their few good moves. It has a very stable audience and will likely improve on the timeslot and it should have compatibility with the family comedies before it.
ReplyDeleteRevolution is going to die quickly without the help from The Voice... so will Parks & Recreation if the show will have to go against The Big Bang Theory and other major players. And it's nice to see Grimm back on Fridays.
ReplyDeleteOk ok thanks
ReplyDeleteIf Scandal and Elementary are still in that time slot in the fall then it will be rather tough on Parenthood.
ReplyDeleteTo me, what bugs me the most is the inefficient use of lead-ins. TBL is being used to prop up.. freaking voice. The Voice itself will prop up a new drama and an established show... That is idiotic.
ReplyDeleteI hate it too. However, chances are they can get a midweek slot if other stuff flops. But even then, there is a lot of stuff waiting in the wings (Chicago PD for instance). I don't know what they want to do, it is puzzling.
ReplyDeleteThe only shows i'm watching are revolution, believe. (Maybe dracula and crossbones depending on the pilots)
ReplyDeleteI HIGHLY doubt Scandal is going to a different time slot. CBS may move Elementary.
ReplyDeleteit was renewed because the deal was most likely closed before it returned from the hiatus. Enough sources speculated the deal was made once the studio agreed to cut this season's order by two episodes after they were already ordered.
ReplyDeleteUmmm.... How many episodes does Parenthood normally have per season, that it's both in the Fall and midseason? Revolution on Wed. at 8- good luck, CF does not deserve Post-The Voice spot- it should go to a new drama. I'm ok with Dracula and Crossbones on Friday with Grimm, but where on earth could they put Hannibal (if they renew it)?
ReplyDeleteYeah, I'm not sure why that one, I guess they might've wanted a more stable show.
ReplyDeleteI meant for their other shows.
ReplyDeleteParenthood was renewed for 22 episodes this year.
ReplyDeleteIt would be tougher to a new show without an established audience, as seen by the multiple flops they had in the timeslot. Especially because it would have not one, but three unproven shows as lead-in. They had to move a veteran there and it was either Parenthood, Grimm or SVU. Grimm is needed on Fridays and SVU is needed on Wednesdays, so it was Parenthood. And thematically, it fits with the family comedies.
ReplyDeleteI think we are thinking the same way. I think they needed to compromise somehow. Maybe not giving it the voice lead-in again but find it a confortable spot. An indirect voice lead-in tuesdays at 10 with compatible believe bridging it at 9, with the chance of a 2 hour premiere would be the best thing IMO. This is crap...
ReplyDeleteI don't buy that. And for 22 episodes? I refuse to believe. They ordered it because they wanted it. And it did deserve the renewal (BTW, I like the show), but it won't hold its own in there
ReplyDeleteThe established Parenthood audience is fairly meager and the program will have been off the air for quite some time when it returns in the fall. If it breaks even in the ratings upon its return, NBC should probably call that a win.
ReplyDeleteWow Believe Midseason Sundays at 9?! When GOT comes on it will probably plunge :(
ReplyDeleteRevolution at 8 on wed is probably a killer too. Why would they put law in order in between it and Ironside?
also agree :(
ReplyDeleteAh, ok thanks. I knew it was less episodes originally, so I was confused.
ReplyDeleteWeird as hell that they're putting new shows on Sunday, I guess they're trying to compete with Revenge/OUaT.
I am not sure how much importance we should give the midseason schedule. The normal thing is that they don't happen as planned.
ReplyDeleteI think that is very stupid seeing how OUAT and Revenge are having such a hard time on Sundays (I want them out of there as soon as possible btw). But I think that we should disregard the midseason schedule. It will most likely change until then..
ReplyDeleteI need trailers to decide but I think I am in for believe, dracula and crossbones almost for sure
ReplyDeleteParks against TBTT is actually not such a bad move. I would however laugh if CBS moves TBBT to 9pm and NBC has to change it all accordingly
ReplyDeleteOh I think if it stays in one spot of course it will do fine but it seems like NBC has tried it on three or four nights within its two seasons, next season I hope it just stays on Friday. Glad they have Dracula and Crossbones as companion series.
ReplyDeleteI would however laugh if CBS moves TBBT to 9pm and NBC has to change it all accordingly
ReplyDeleteIt wasn't exactly a tryout this season! It was always intended for Fridays! It aired on Mondays to benefit from extra exposure and it airs on tuesdays now simply because ready for love bombed and nbc had absolutely nothing to replace it with!
ReplyDeleteHa! That would be funny.
ReplyDeleteGood point, but usually Midseason fantasy or sci-fi usually doesn't make it on network TV, let alone this will be competing with GOT s4...
ReplyDeleteChicago Fire's ratings are going to tank in the midseason.
ReplyDeleteIronic isn't it lol Grimm a show bout fairly tales and Dracula a show bout the vampire...lets not forget CBS wll most likely leave Blue Bloods on Friday and we still have Haven as well
ReplyDeleteAren't the Network's going with Limited Series for the new shows?? I read that when they pick up the pilots they wanna make the shows Limited Series something bout money saving and not spending alot lol
ReplyDeleteI'm curious to know, will Dracula follow the book ?
ReplyDeleteFrom The Futon Critic:
ReplyDeleteNBC has also ordered dramas "Chicago PD" and "The Night Shift" and comedy "Undateable" as unscheduled midseason series.
I know it could go all the way to Smash, but with both CBS and FOX airing realities and ABC airing comedies, it might actually prove to be a good counter programming... as long as it doesn't crash and burn
ReplyDeleteI agree. I would call it DOA if they go forward with the dumb idea of having it against GOT
ReplyDeleteAt times the writers have to stay close to the novels but at times they don't and when they don't they always pull off amazing episodes lol
ReplyDeleteWhile that is true, look at this:
ReplyDelete1) Last season, Parenthood also had only a partial season order, which aired after The Biggest Looser. It averaged a 1.9 and excluding its finale (1.9), its last 7 episodes all posted 1.6s or 1.7s
2) It returned this year after the lower rated The New Normal and its average was a 1.84 (almost 1.9).
So it was basically even year to year despite the fact that its lead in got much worse (which can hardly happen next year, as I doubt the MJF show pulls sub 1 ratings), despite the fact that it had also been off the air for quite some time and despite the general ratings decline. I don't even watch the show but it is the definition of a stable performer...
Another way to look at it. Imagine it looses 20% of its audience when moving (which is a lot!!!) so it goes to a 1.5. Look at recent timeslot occupants:
- Hannibal:1.3 (likely to deteriorate as the premiere's rating effect fades away)
- Do No Harm: 0.8
- Awake:1.1
- Prime Suspect:1.2
So, Parenthood's "fairly meager" audience will be a HUGE improvement on the timeslot even if it falls by more than 20%, which recent history suggests it will not do.
And even worse, Walking Dead if that airs March/April
ReplyDeleteYep another killer for sure!
ReplyDeleteAny way you cut it, a sub 2.0 demo isn't good for the prime Thursday night time slot when potential ad revenues are the highest. I'm really surprised NBC didn't go with something (anything) with a bigger potential upside.
ReplyDeleteWhy not? It is not like 2.0 is a magical number.. Even Elementary on CBS is finishing off the season with sub 2 levels. What matters are the relative ratings within the network. NBC has averaged, so far, this season, 1.70 for first run scripted shows. Why wouldn't a show averaging higher than that be good? What is your alternative for the slot anyway? A new show after three unproven shows against fierce competition?
ReplyDeleteI didn't say so. And you're rude.
ReplyDeleteElementary's demo is the exact reason I think CBS will move it away from Thursdays and ratings relative to the network's previous performance only hold so much weight. They're not competing against themselves after all.
ReplyDelete"A new show after three unproven shows against fierce competition?"
The only reason I can see why they settled (which is exactly what I think they did) for putting Parenthood there is because NBC is so weak they're probably not capable of successfully launching a new series against proven competition in that time slot.
True, but that s exactly the whole point of settling for Parenthood! No better alternative, so using a stable, reliable performer there. I never said Parenthood would set the world on fire in there but it is probably the best usage that NBC can make out of it (the other alternative, IMO, would be Wednesdays at 8, but I actually like this better) and the best thing that NBC can make with the slot. Win-win. If everything else works (which will never happen, as we both know), they can focus on the slot next year.
ReplyDeleteI'll agree that Thu. 10pm is a better idea than Wed. 8pm. Putting a serialized drama at 8 is not a good idea. I can't remember the last time a network even attempted outside of FOX, who seem to operate by their own separate playbook.
ReplyDeleteThe Blacklist is dead at Monday @10.
ReplyDeleteWTF! Why doors NBC hate Parenthood. Thursdays at 9:00! DEATH SA-LOT!
ReplyDeleteNow watch Fox schedules Almost Human as a mid season...
ReplyDeleteI'm not happy with this schedule,i fear for Revolution....
Why?
ReplyDeleteNo. It is making a good use of a reliable performer in a tough timeslot.
ReplyDeleteI don't have a problem with serialized shows at 8. I just think that it probably has a very high crossed audience with the middle. OUAT is a serialized shows and works just fine at 8 (this season it took a ratings dive, but it still rated well in the comparative landscape). ABC also attempted with Last Resort but failed.
ReplyDeleteI consider OUAT an anomaly (definitely a successful one) and I won't hold Last Resort against ABC. They've tried putting almost everything in that time slot for the past five years with no luck. Maybe they'll have better luck this year with SHIELD if they choose to place it there.
ReplyDeleteI like that Thursday night's comedy night. I still remember the 90s when Seinfeld, Friends and Frasier all aired on Thursdays, and it was NBC's big "must see" power night. That being said, I don't know much about these new comedies. Only one I'm excited for is Michael J Fox's.
ReplyDeletewhat?!
ReplyDeleteWhere's Community going?
ReplyDeleteMidseason again
ReplyDeleteNice catch. Didn't even think about that. Should be interesting to see if they renew it. I'm guessing cancellation just because reviews and ratings aren't out of this world. NBC will probably have to decide Hannibal based on how well they like their pilots.
ReplyDeletewhat happen to Chicago PD? it not in the schedule
ReplyDeleteweird
ReplyDeleteMaybe they want to put it earlier because a lot of the plot lines (with Charlie and Nate) might appeal to a younger crowd? I would say that since it's been out for a year now and promoted quite well by NBC, it will either succeed or fail on its own merits. They have an audience. If they can keep them around with good writing, I don't think the move to a different time slot will have too much impact.
ReplyDeleteI agree. I think it's fair to move it for new shows, but there has to be a better spot then that.
ReplyDeleteIt might not have to have a strong lead in, but at least pair it up with something that has similar feel or subject matter!
Ya, I'm hoping FOX learned their lesson with Alcatraz, but who knows? I would think they would be anxious for a new Fringe, although they also have other co-creator's Kurtzman and Orci's Sleepy Hallow...
ReplyDeleteI fear for Revolution too, but it might be that there won't be a lot of new stuff competing with it. That's the only positive thing I can say about that move, otherwise I think it's bad one!
I do believe it and I also believe it could finish next spring on Saturdays.
ReplyDeleteAnd just like that, Believe, Crisis and About a Boy went on danger watch....
ReplyDeleteThey're probably saving it for midseason.
ReplyDeleteI think they should have kept Parks as emergancey spackle if one of the new comedies fail, it could easily be slotted in to a gap asap if something is yanked off the air. I imagine thats why Community is being held back and not being aired in Fall.
ReplyDeleteCBS does comedies on Monday
ReplyDeleteFOX does comedies on Tuesdays
ABC does comedies on Wednesday
only day that doesnt have one of the other bif nets doing a two hour comedy block is Friday and roumour is ABC, FOX and CBS may all be doing at least 1 hour of comedy on Friday. CBS may also be considering expanding their Thursday comedy block so wherever NBC place their comedy block they'll be pretty stiff competition. IMO its nothing to do with the day but the quality, NBC can be successful on Thursday with decent shows that people want to watch. We shall see.
and they have a lot less money for replacements
ReplyDeleteDracula and Crossbones are both limited series they could literally be 1 half a season and done
ReplyDeleteMonday 10pm is going to be interesting esp if CBS put one of their new dramas there like lots of us think they should
ReplyDeleteif Dracula accidently succeeds then it could be renewed and return the following season, not seeing a problem there
ReplyDeleteTBL is not bieng used to prop up The Voice, The Voice is much higher rated than TBL and doesnt need to be propped up.
ReplyDeleteNot leaving spaces for back 9s for multiple shows makes me wonder if the network even has faith in these pilots.
ReplyDeleteNot really, come mid season Once was down to the low 2's, Revenge down to mid/high 1's and the 10pm shows all bombed big time. Even CBS were only doing mid 1's all season long. Promotion and quality of the two new shows will be key and of course the lead in show for the two new dramas will need to rate fairly decently. If anything NBC's comptetition on Sunday will come from cable.
ReplyDeleteairing after the Olympics, likely with heavy promotion. Smart move possibly?
ReplyDeleteEven if NBC cancels it some other network will probably pick it up.
ReplyDeletethe review are actually quite good. The ratings aren't, but then what show has good ratings on nbc?
ReplyDeleteAbout a Boy actually has a very cushy timeslot as of now, not to mention it will get Olympics promotion. It did work out for Go On during fall! Even though we all know how that ended up...
ReplyDeleteFair enough. But I think you will get an answer to your question next year with Shield since Deadline has reported that it will get an 8pm slot, either tuesday or thursday. Personally, I would put it Mondays at 8 and just move the reality stuff to Sundays. Between tuesday and thursday I prefer tuesday, as long as they don't stick the freaking results show after it, that would be the most stupid move ever
ReplyDeleteIn theory, it has the potential to be a smart move but airing sundays without support or anything, in a day in which all broadcasts are struggling is not a good thing. I will be happy if they manage to find a midweek slot.
ReplyDeleteYep, exactly
ReplyDeleteSome shows are indeed meant to have shorter seasons, it is not always network PR crap. I think this is the case here.
ReplyDeleteMy point!! The Voice needs zero propping up, but there are other stuff in the network that could use TBL's lead in (even if it is not nearly as high rated as the voice, a 2.0 should not be taken for granted at NBC)! Heck, even using it for revolution would be a smart move. Or for the new comedies on thursday. Or for ironside. Anything but using it behind the freaking voice, which is the same as saying its lead-in potential goes to trash
ReplyDeleteI thought it was a sure thing when I thought they were going to pick beverly hill cops but now I am not sure anymore. I think Intelligence will go after POI so it does't fit in there. Hostages is a limited run series so I don't see it getting such a high profile slot. As for the legal drama they have just picked up, it seems too much low profile to me, a la made in jersey, and we all know how that ended up. I think there is a chance that a veteran (e.g. CM) is put in there. I could see Wednesdays being POI/Intelligence/CSI, with Thursday being two hour of comedies and Elementary and CM being used to end the Monday problems and Survivor being used to end the Sunday problems
