NBC has picked up Ironside
a remake of the 1960s drama Ironside. Ironside follows a tough, sexy but acerbic police detective relegated to a wheelchair after a shooting. He is hardly limited by his disability as he pushes and prods his hand-picked team to solve the most difficult cases in the city.

The original Ironside reminds me of afternoons during summer breaks it was always on. Not sure there is any need to remake it and it probably isn't something I would watch but do like the idea of a disabled main character don't see that on TV very often.
ReplyDeleteThis sort of reminds me of a super-powerless version of Bird's of Prey, not sure If I'll check it out
ReplyDeletecan't wait to see who will be in this.
ReplyDeleteThe main character will be played by Blair Underwood.

A police drama? On TV nowadays? Now WHO would have EVER thought about such a crazy, innovative and truly inspiring television show like a cop drama? Truly original NBC, truly original! (Alright, that's all the sarcasm I had for today.)
ReplyDeleteI just want to add to my comment that the only thing I actually DO like about this news is the fact that the show focuses on a disabled main character. I have for years been hoping that the TV executive offices could manage to bring disabilities and other difficulties to our screens and still making TV entertaining. So if this works out, then I do applaud NBC for doing a good job with picking up the show. Fingers crossed.
ReplyDeleteOh god,at first i saw CeeLo which cracked me up till i read further down...oh that would have been something, haha!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
ReplyDeletenice procedural drama for NBC, hopefully solid and steady in the ratings with the potential to go for years, something they really need.
ReplyDeleteI'll wait for a trailer and reviews before deciding, but I like Blair Underwood and it would be "nice" to see a disabled character on tv (especially one that "is hardly limited by his disability").
