  1. Interesting, lot's of stuff going on in ep 9. Excited for that.
No PW in ep10 as most suspected, can't wait to see what it all means.

  2. I'm really hoping episode 10 is the battle and not just dany sitting and waiting as i really thought episode 9 would be just RW but its got a lot more so i hope its not to crowded and gets its due focus.

  3. Wow, hold it. "Joffrey challenges Tywin"?!? Bad move. Very very bad move. Well, it doesn't really surprise me, when I think about it. Joffrey is insane. He's also stupid too. I see him getting his ass kicked (not literally). Haha.

  4. I wish it was but I imagine more material is needed for season 4.

  5. "Dany waits to see if she is a conqueror or a liberator" will have a little action too I'm sure. I think after the big production of Episode 9, the battle will be toned down though.

I suspect the RW will take around 20-30 minutes (including the lead up and the aftereffects and action outside). That is still a pretty solid chunk of time. The other scenes could each be 5 minutes each and leave half the episode for the RW... Maybe?

  6. It was never going to happen this season....
No Oberyn cast, no Mace Tyrell cast and it just makes sense to use the PW as the landscape shifting event of Season 4. To me at least....

I think the last couple episodes should have a lot of finale quality scenes already honestly.
    CAN NOT WAIT!

  7. Oberyn and Mace were never needed. They've already written them out of the small council meetings.

  8. He is in need of a sharp lesson.

  9. And who's better to give him one than his grandpa?

  10. I can't imagine they can wait until the end of season 4 for the PW though.

  11. My guess is it will happen around Episode 4.03.. That gives time for the Dornish party to arrive and interact with people and to reestablish all the arcs from the previous season.

Then a 4 or 5 episodes of T in jail, the trial and the trial by combat and then 2 episodes for the escape and finale etc....

  12. Oberyn is VERY needed to introduce the Dornish elements, the trial by combat, and bring the history of the last days Targaryen reign into focus.

Mace will be the Hand of the King later on. He has no important book lines, but he is an important role.

  13. Needs more Stannis awesomeness.

  14. They'd be pushing ahead pretty fast. What material would they have to work with if GRRM doesn't get book six out on time? I'd put the PW maybe a bit later in season four. But I'm just guessing.

  15. You may be right.

The only reason I think it may be around Episode 3 or 4 is that there is not much for Jaime and Brienne to do prior to returning to King's Landing after the wedding..

I can see them creating a scene or two for an episode, but to have no book material for more than 3 or 4 episodes could mean very little of Jaime and Brienne in the first half of the season. I'm not sure that makes sense.

They really need Book 6 out in time to do all the pre-production for Season 7 and hopefully it will be 2 seasons worth of material! XD

I'm not sure the show can avoid passing him by if it goes much longer. If they can do a prequel season and switch from a Spring premiere to Winter or Fall premiere it might buy GRRM enough time.... Maybe.....

  16. But not needed for the PW itself, just the aftermath. Just because they aren't cast doesn't mean they couldn't do it.

  17. True for sure.
Although I would think that Margaery's father would be at the wedding if she were marrying King Joffrey to become the Queen. That is just something not to be missed by a father in my opinion.

They could of course have him played by an extra and then cast the role later if they felt the need.....

  18. I think you're right. It'll probably happen in episode 4.03 or 4.04

  19. PW is so obviously happening. They're just clever enough to not forecast it. The whole season builds to it, plain and simple.

  20. Sorry, everyone keeps saying "PW" while I'm most concerned with something called the "RW". Trying not to spoil anyone BUT does the "PW" everyone keeps referencing refer to a wedding featuring say Joffrey? I've never seen THAT event referred to as "PW" so I'm only assuming I know what the P stands for haha

  21. They needed both weddings to happen at the end of this season. These seasons need to be at least 12 episodes. I am tired of seeing robb, bran, and countless other major characters get a minute here and minute there.

  22. PW is the one with Joffery, and means purple wedding.

  23. I also agree that the Dornish aren't needed for the PW. I feel it'll either be the finale, or the first episode of season 4, because i think that the King's Landing Plot will focus all around WhoKJ? I mean, i feel they've been underlining both Joffrey's cruelty and his ignorance all season, not to mention the Queen of Thornes big moments, that I feel the show would take a cue card from Dallas, and use the PW as a cliffhanger to go into the next season. I also can't imagine what they could fill an entire episode with as a finale, since the PW happens so quickly after the RW.
