fter a week of intense negotiations, a couple of deadlines and best and final offers, Criminal Minds leads Thomas Gibson and Joe Mantegna and co-stars Shemar Moore, Kirsten Vangsness and A.J. Cook have all signed new two-year deals to continue on the veteran CBS crime drama. With the five on board and Criminal Minds showrunner Erica Messer signing a new deal last week, I’ve learned that CBS has proceeded with a ninth season renewal for the show.

Oh my god, today is the best day ever. Believe, Crisis, Parks and Rec, Tomorrow People, the 100, AND Criminal Minds with ALL the cast members, INCLUDING JJ and Garcia!!! Even NBC can't bring me down with a Community or Go On cancellation
ReplyDeleteI'm glad AJ and Kirsten got a pay increase they liked!
ReplyDeletejust as expected
ReplyDeleteSo we get a season 9 and all the cast members are signed on for next year? So... who the hell dies in the finale?!
ReplyDeleteI've been saying from the beginning that I don't think anyone dies - Just gets kidnapped.
ReplyDeleteWhat about Matthew Gray Gubler?
ReplyDeleteThank u. What about reid and Alex
ReplyDelete2 downvotes, really people?
ReplyDeleteI think Matthew signed a new deal last year, but I can't remember for sure.
ReplyDeletebest part of my day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteSo relieved!
ReplyDeleteGubler's two-year contract is for season 8 and season 9.
ReplyDeleteI can understand Kirsten's salary being slightly lower just because her role is different from everyone else's and generally doesn't include stunts or anything. AJ's ideally should be the same as Moore and Gubler's since they all have the role of Supervisory Special Agent.
ReplyDeleteThere was never a doubt. I don''t watch the show but I am pleased that the ladies got their raise.
ReplyDeleteThis!
ReplyDeleteSomeone really dies at the finale, CM Exec Erica Messer has confirmed that much. But I never thought it was a team member. I think it's one of the main recurring characters _ Beth, Strauss, Kevin, Agent Anderson, etc. Since she says there will be a VICTIM and a TARGET, I think one recurring character will die, and one main character will get kidnapped.
ReplyDeleteI'm curious to see if Cook and Vangsness held their ground on the equal pay issue.
ReplyDeleteAlso anyone know if Tripplehorn is signed? Can we put her down as a possible to be killed?
Hopefully Beth Clemmons, :P but I think it's Strauss.
ReplyDeleteShe signed a two year contract last year.
ReplyDeleteI'm wondering if they'll kill Josh Stewarts character... the recent cameo in the Nanny episode a little foreshadowing to remind the audience JJ has a hubby before killing him off - maybe kidnapping the kid?
ReplyDeleteSo long as they're all on the same rate based on what they do, screen time etc, differences in total salary are understandable but they should all be on the same rate. And they had no choice but to give in if they wanted to renew.... JJ is just too popular to let go and Garcia is kinda hard to replace.
ReplyDeleteAh, so then my guess is the death will be a recurring character. Strauss and Hotch's brother seem to be on top of the list.
ReplyDeleteYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES! AWESOME! Criminal Minds is a great TV show, very funny, and also different from other crime shows. Also the acting and characters are great! I'm so happy! Go CM! :)
ReplyDeleteBravo!!! Thanks!! I was nervous for my favorite show!!!
ReplyDeleteafter considering it I think Strauss is the one dying...since they signed new deals.... not to mention strauss children are in the finale...
ReplyDeleteWOW!! JJ is back after all the negotiations..excited to see more of her.. Kick ass profiler :)
ReplyDeleteThey don't seem to be in the cast list for the finale. But Strauss' kids are cast so...
ReplyDeletebut it only can get better! community got renewed too!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThey were not up for renewal this season. Their contracts had not expired as yet.
