I don't mean this in a horrible way cause I was rooting for Go On too, but it started at 16 million viewers and fizzled down to under 3 million. NBC didn't want to risk it as it can't stand on it's own without The Voice. Community gets higher ratings (1.2 and 1.3) against TBBT, American Idol etc and it is almost at syndication.
Season 4 may have had a few missteps, but it got better in the second half of the season, I still love the show and thrilled to have it back. I just couldn't have accepted to see the show end with episode 4.13, which I haven't yet watched because of the (slight) uncertainty around Community's future.
This time, it better start in the fall and be for more than 13 episodes — at the very least 16, to get to 100 episodes. Season 4 is not the best season of the show, clearly, and the 13-episode order might be one of the reasons, other than the writers trying to adjust to an unharmonized writing room.
There have been casualties along the way (RIP Go On, you'll be fondly remembered) but at long last, Community still stands and keeps marching towards a sixth season and a movie.
I don't see why NBC would keep The New Normal around if they cancelled Go On, so that makes Community and Parks & Rec the only survivors of the bloodbath. The veterans stick around, thankfully.
I can finally go to bed, I was getting tired, but tomorrow, I'm sure I'll be deanlighted by Advanced Introduction to Finality.
I was a little bummed that Go On didn't survive as well, that, Parks & Rec, and Community would've made a fine trio of shows. But if it came down to Community vs. Go On, Community wins eveyr time.
Thank goodness! NBC does have brains! Don't even care that it's not a full season, just that we get more time with the study group is perfect in my book.
Good news. I hope for season five however that they treat Annie as the mature woman she has become, some positive direction in regards to the Jeff/Annie relationship (as Jeff has completed his graduation arc, and his father arc, Learning to accept himself and be togethwe with Annie is new next logical arc). Give Britta/Troy another chance. It fizzled because it was basically ignored until they broke up. Lay off a bit on Inspector Spacetime (Where did Kickpuncher go?). Mellow out the Dean a little, he got really creepy this season. And don't let Chang join the study group.
I cried reading the title, I have watched every season and followed from s2 forward but Idont want this to go more than 91 episodes (A.K.A. the episode amount of CHUCK). I now that after this season Community has lasted for 5 seasons (Same as Chuck) with probably 97 episodes (more than Chuck) and that Chuck is a 42 min show and Community 21,5 so they would have lasted: Chuck about 65 and Community about 35h. So I guess this show could go to 180 episodes before passing the hours. And on DVD and Bluray side Chuck has 23 on DVD and 17 on Bluray, Community has after season 5 probably 15 on DVD and Bluray IDK. I like to compare every series on the bubble with less than 91 episodes to CHUCK and while I know it's super weird I hated when The Good Wife was renewed going over 100 episodes, Hawaii Five-0 going probably 93 episodes and loved when Nikita was renewed for a short (must be Final) goin 77 episodes tops, Southland Cancelled (even though not even close to 91 episodes) and that Blue Bloods got renewed (for probably last season). COMMUNITY LASTED TOO WELL WITH SUCH BAD RATINGS (I would have never thought that the 3rd season would be full, or that it would get renewed for season 4 and now 5) WHAT IS THIS MADNESS!!! NBC BETTER GIVE ONLY 7 EPISODES SO I WOULD LIKE THIS SHOW MUCH MORE!!! (It's not like I watch only series that go less than 91 episodes, no just some bug me. I was sceptical about the Rules renewal for 7th season for going 100 episodes but then cause it's maybe the best sitcom ever I would have wanted it to be renewed for a season 8. (sad it got cancelled) Most of the series I watch have gone beyond 91 episodes (some over 200 (Two and a Half Men) ) but they are mainly comedies so I approve for those not on bubble 180 episodes if comedy and 91 episodes for a 40 minute drama) I someone read this whole comment they must be as crazy as me xD
