The Chicago Fire franchise is expanding on NBC as the network has picked up the Chicago cop drama, a spinoff from Chicago Fire, to series.

The official logline for the offshoot reads: “District 21 of the Chicago Police Department is made up of two distinctly different groups. There are the uniformed cops who patrol the beat and go head to head with the city’s street crimes. And there’s the Intelligence Unit” — led by Voight — “that combats the city’s major offenses – organized crime, drug trafficking, high profile murders and beyond.”

Dick Wolf must be blackmailing most of NBC's executives.
ReplyDeleteLmao. They kind of owe him for the huge success that was SVU and Law & Order.
ReplyDeleteHow very bland maybe NBC are trying to go into the CBS route of procedurals with a million spin offs
ReplyDeletewow, after just one season to have a spin off is kind of... risky, just to say the least
ReplyDeleteThe cast will definitely have to impress viewers to succeed because the title won't attract all that many, but then again.... Chicago Fire isn't all that inventive of a title either, but it does pretty good in the ratings. As usual it all depends on the characters.
ReplyDeleteAnd NBC paid him back by keeping all of his franchise shows on the air waaay past their expiration dates. I'd say they're even.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad NBC are ordering so many pilots to series, inevitably some will fail so its good to have back ups and its about time NBC dumped the low rated shows
ReplyDeleteMy reaction to this.

CBS doesn't have a lock on spin offs just look at NBC has done the same Law & Order, Law and Order SUV, Law and Order Criminal Minds.
ReplyDeleteI always forget L&O is a NBC franchise!
ReplyDeleteI really like Chicago Fire and i Think we all should give Chicago Police a shot!
ReplyDeleteI really like when shows interact with eachothers....oh...wait a minute...where is Chicago Hospital?! XD
i'm interested i really am but i hope they are smart as to which timeslot it gets I'd hate to see it get axed before it gets somewhere. Good for them
ReplyDeletei agree the characters are really what i watch for and it's what drew me in from the pilot
ReplyDeleteSo Voight is really gonna redeem himself? Or is he just gonna be a bastard as well in this spinoff? =)
ReplyDeleteBoth shows together remind me of Thirdwatch. I will watch it. I loved thirdwatch and really like Chicago Fire.
ReplyDeletedon't forget the short lived Law & Order LA
ReplyDeleteThat's right! :)
ReplyDeleteIt would be cool if they had the same timeslot, like Chicago Police at 9 and then Chicago Fire at 10! but sadly that will not happen, rather have them do Chicago fire September to may an Chicago Police May to Septemer that would be nice!
ReplyDeleteI think there won't be a Chicago Hospital just because our main-cast doctor is long gone. RIP Hallie ):
ReplyDeletewe'll see him in action on the next episode. I think he'll be a dirty cop, but I don't think he'll mess with the CFD again.
