I've been thinking about it and I believe it would be interesting to see Kate actually take the job if only because I want to see how the writers would get themselves out of it next season.
This will be the must spectacular episode of the entires season, because will content all the ingredient for it ..!! Can wait for Monday..!!! Be brave and keep calm season 6 is on the horizon..!!!!
How could a man who would risk getting blown up for her break up over a job? Castle can afford a place in DC. There is reasonably good train service between NY and DC and he could probably share time on a Lear jet if he really wanted to. This makes no sense. Also, from a more realistic point of view, the actors have another year on their contracts. Will we really see Seamus, Jon, Penny, etc go? Talk about breaking up a winning ensemble. Andrew get us out of this mess! Please! Just as a guess, I think Castle will calm down and tell Beckett that he will go anywhere and do anything to be with her. That may include a ring. Then the job may blow up in her face as the Lt. job did in Heat Rising. Her Dad will factor in somewhere because he is in Watershed. Or a really far out notion would have Castle's father offering to intervene somehow. Castle could tell him "no" because he loves her too much to take away what she wants. Beckett could overhear and realize the depth of Castle's committment. Sheesh! Am I writing a soap? I guess I'll just have to wait to see what Andrew does. It is going to be a hard week and possibly a very hard summer.
I don't think Castle is being irrational at all..Kyra left him..Meredith cheated on him and He NEVER knew his Dad until he was FORTY !!..so naturally he will have a problem with beckett and this job offer!
Yes this! Thank you for recognizing all that Castle has been through with ppl abandoning him. His lash out might be hurtful but not out of character! Also i think he will calm down and call her to the swings to talk.
Castle is freaking out. He seems to be like a child pouting on that swing set. I can see his angst, but dang, Beckett was giving him signals for the past few episodes. Now that she wants to commit to something else because he doesn't want to commit...he realizes he might have to be start thinking seriously where their relationship is headed.
This is just a promo, with lots of editing, so I won´t take much of it...Just talking about posible scenarios: of course it´s a great oportunity but I understand Castle pov; and Kate has been in that situation before, just in the reversal role (and between her and the career Sorenson didn´t choose her). Long distance relationship? That tends to fail and they aren´t at an age to do that...Castle going with her? Yes, he could afford that but why should he? Why should he be the one always following her and fighting for her? All in all, what they need to do is talk, he should tell her about his insecurities and she needs to decide what she wants...but I agree that if she leaves the relationship ends.
I think, Beckett goes to DC on a TEMPORARY assignment, over the summer, and Castle must come to grips with the issues he has fought, trust, jealousy, and taking the relationship to the next level. No one doubts their love, even Gates acknowledges it, but as in life, what comes after love, Committed Relationship as Martha alluded to. This scenario has the Boys and crew returning to the precinct as normal in the fall, and allows AM and crew a lot of creativity with the Beckett character, commuting, Castle going to DC or a host of others. This is far better than a break up. Although I am not a fan of them messing with Casket, I can live with this over the summer. Sorry this is long but will save you from viewing Season 3 Ep 23 Pretty Dead.
While watching Castle DVD’s in between repeat viewings of Still, I watched Season 3 Episode 23, written by Terri Miller and the subtext in this one was when Alexis deals with Ashley’s choice of colleges. He chooses local school over his dream of Stanford, and Alexis breaks up with him, saying that she doesn’t want him to hate her in the future when he realizes he gave up his dream for her. She is not going to stand in his way or his dream, so she lets him go (If you love them set them free???).
Castle tells Beckett about this over their morning coffee, KB – She’s right you know odds are it won’t work out, RC – Relationships aren’t math problems, you don’t solve them by being practical. What happens when she meets her Soul Mate but she doesn’t risk it because it’s not practical –
Fade to later in the episode where Ashley visits Castle at the Precinct and asks him to intervene, he is going to Stanford, and wants to give a long distance relationship a try, he thinks it will work. RC is very hesitant and mutters something about how appropriate it would be, then Ashley counters with the line “Mr. Castle have you ever been crazy over someone who is determined to push you away?” Beckett walks in and the look on Castle’s face shows the empathy he is feeling,
Later RC returns home to find Alexis sitting on the couch, laptop open and looking at photos of her and Ashley, he relays the message from earlier, and Alexis asks What do you think?
RC- “I think that nothing is certain, and you could be ending something that might have worked if you just given it a little more time” Alexis, “What if I am cutting my losses on something that was never meant to be? RC “We could be the father/daughter version of grey gardens. Life is a journey, and there is no predicting the outcome, the only thing you can control are your choices and they will define who you are. I would just hate to see you so focused on the problem that you completely miss the entire picture”
End of the episode - KB “I have been meaning to ask you did Alexis make a decision about Ashley?” RC “Oh She did actually, She decided it was worth the risk, and she is going to just keep showing up” (Quote from Capt. Montgomery earlier in show) KB – “It’s a good choice, See you tomorrow”
Castle returns to the loft to find Ashley sitting on couch with Alexis, and to get some the news that Alexis is planning on joining him at Stanford on early admission,
Could this be one of the Organic Obstacles AM is always discussing, and since he and TM are partners in life, this would be a great bridge.
Anyone see the parallels between this scenario and the potential one coming??
I agree ... he bound to have a complex that he can't offer something steady. Everytime he's tried ... well there you go. He seems to do better with his exes as friends than as a husband so maybe he thinks a not-marriage will last longer. That being said - if Kate's too dumb, I'll take him.
I don't agree with you. He didn't turn down anything, they offered him a better deal if he continue writing his Nikki Heat series If you recall, they said goodbye at the end of that episode and then he received that phone call
I thought Beckett was all about being a homicide detective and getting justice for victims and their families. All of a sudden, she's willing to chuck it all (including the boyfriend she just said "I love you" to for the first time) for a job in DC working for the Attorney General? She's going to be one the Feds stealing investigations away from homicide detectives? She hates those guys. Makes no sense.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
OMG! F*** u Castle, I love you but you can´t be so intransigent!
ReplyDeleteOMG!Suffering a1 week to watch the SF and 4 months of depression can not watch Castle!OCD!
ReplyDeleteThe amount of NOT OKAY I am after this promo...
ReplyDeleteBefore everybody freaks out, Please be reminded that ABC is very tricky with editing!! P.S. marlowe will never break Caskett
ReplyDeleteI know it's just a promo, but still ... :(
ReplyDeleteI've been thinking about it and I believe it would be interesting to see Kate actually take the job if only because I want to see how the writers would get themselves out of it next season.
ReplyDeleteCastle usually has A+ finales. I'm really excited for all the feels.
ReplyDeleteI can't handle this... i NEED it to be monday!!
ReplyDeleteLol Nice try ABC but not falling for your trolling!
ReplyDeleteI think that's just his initial reaction to it and also dont forget they always edit promos out of context. So calm down!

ReplyDeleteI'm definitely curious about the job, and it'd be crazy if she wasn't intrigued herself. It's a huge opportunity that definitely bears consideration.
ReplyDeleteit's rated with an s...

ReplyDeleteSTILL would have been the best Castle season or serie finale. Episodes 23 and 24 are not necessary.
ReplyDeleteI think she is gonna take.Andrew Marlowe had earlier said that in final episode something will happen that is going to shake everything.
ReplyDeleteThank YOU for poiting that out, I was starting to think I was the only one getting happy with that ! ;)
ReplyDeleteI loved how Rick spells it out for her in black and white.
ReplyDeleteYes this! Thank you for recognizing all that Castle has been through with ppl abandoning him. His lash out might be hurtful but not out of character! Also i think he will calm down and call her to the swings to talk.
ReplyDeleteOk i really hate to tell u that according to the ctv promo there is a shower scene tht is case related in the ep, so the S is probably not Caskett
ReplyDeletefor once I'd like to see Kate fight for him! and not the reverse
ReplyDeleteWe waited 4 years for them to be together and ow what?:-(
ReplyDeleteHey, everyone. Isn't the key word for these two 'Always'. I think that means through thick or thin, Always!!!
ReplyDeleteCastle is freaking out. He seems to be like a child pouting on that swing set. I can see his angst, but dang, Beckett was giving him signals for the past few episodes. ReplyDeleteWow! It sounds like you're writing a fanfiction, and a damn good one at that! XD
ReplyDeleteCastle is going to get renewed. ABC can't be that foolish to do that...
ReplyDeleteWe get Castle threatening to break up the relationship because Beckett is putting her career first? And then pouting on the swing set?
ReplyDeleteme too, i really Don't know how to survive this week! maybe i'll start writing fan fincs... ;-)
ReplyDeleteTrue:)

LOL, this promo was edited by an evil person. xD
ReplyDeletehe can. its MARLOWE!
ReplyDeleteNice try abc not following for it
ReplyDeleteSignals. You see, that's why us women never get what we want from men.
ReplyDeleteTHEY'RE DENSE!! THEY NEED WORDS, NOT SIGNALS!!
I think,

Train from DC to NY takes a whopping 6 hours ... not long at all. It's like he's never seen Risky Business and imagined the possibilities.
ReplyDeleteI agree ... he bound to have a complex that he can't offer something steady. Everytime he's tried ... well there you go. He seems to do better with his exes as friends than as a husband so maybe he thinks a not-marriage will last longer.

ReplyDeleteI think if you have this chance for doing your dream job there is no better deal. But it works as a good pretext.
ReplyDeleteExcept he's said in several interviews over the years that breaking Caskett up has never been the intention once they're together. Caskett is endgame.
