Ooh, I like Go On's 85% chance.
ReplyDeleteA week until Upfronts and I'm freaking out about them.
the carrie diaries please
ReplyDeleteOk this list is terrible if Shitney (I've never been able to call it by it's actual name) is a 75% chance of renewal while Community is a 55%. Shitney should've been cancelled after its first episode. On a brighter note, glad Go On's chances are higher.
ReplyDeleteBODY OF PROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOF <3 <3 <3
ReplyDeleteThey predict based on ratings Only no inside info
ReplyDeleteSo wouldnt trust em much at this point
Both Variety and Deadline hinted to better chances than 55% for Community at least, and i vouch for those more than Zap2it.
ReplyDeleteDifferent sources have different predictions.
ReplyDeleteWhile the avg Demo for both shows has been same, Whitney has received more viewers than Community this TV season.
ReplyDeleteWhitney: (Demo: 1.24, Viewers: 3.64)
Community: (Demo: 1.24, Viewers: 2.89)
The Middle was not renewed yet? I don't why, but I was sure it was. Well, I hope it does get renewed, it's a great show. Also, Guys With Kids, Whitney, Rules of Engagement (I doubt it, but I hope) and Go On, of course.
ReplyDeleteGo On! Go On! Go On! Fingers crossed!
ReplyDeleteTo calm some people down, TV By The Numbers don't always get it right every year they screamed and boasted even that Chuck and Fringe would get cancelled and they kept coming back. Renewals you don't expect to happen on occasion do.
ReplyDeleteI hope Whitney gets renewed
ReplyDeleteI only care about Community and Go On nowadays. I've been very meh regarding Body of Proof since half of the cast left and they killed Peter off, but sometimes still watch it....
ReplyDeleteI still do not understand how Whitney is still on. It all seems like an elaborate prank.
Yes, Shitney should never have even aired in the first place. What universe are we living in when Community has less of a chance then Shitney???????????????????
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately this only shows that the average viewer is either stupid or drunk, because I can find no other rational explanation as to why more people watch Shitney........
ReplyDeleteAgreed! Whitney will never be better than Community, I any lifetime.
ReplyDeleteAdvertisers only care about the demo so they have the same chance. I just hope Community gets renewed.
ReplyDeleteClearly, this is the darkest timeline (sorry if you don't get that, Community reference).
ReplyDeleteGood point! I wasn't paying attention to the source, that makes me feel a little better.
ReplyDeleteAll I can figure is that Community airs in a tougher time slot - it's up against The Big Bang Theory and American Idol, which draw in huge numbers. That's absolutely the only reason I could come up with haha... or this really IS the darkest timeline.
ReplyDeleteThat place is full of trolls and haters who constantly attack people and shows they don't like.
ReplyDeleteExactly! They seem to love it when shows get cancelled even the good ones, its a horrible place.
ReplyDeleteI know, there are some sad and pathetic people there who have nothing better to do than root for shows to fail.
ReplyDeleteThis is true but Community is in one of the worst timeslots on TV. Whitney pulls the same numbers(demo) against weaker competition so that will be a factor if NBC has any brains left.
ReplyDeleteSurprised that people are being so generous about Whitney and Go On's renewal prospects (especially the former) - I would say Community still has the upper hand in that. But really is hard to call. Also, I am surprised people are betting against How to Live, I think it will be back. MC could go either way, but I lean towards renewal with some retooling. TN, not mentioned here, could also go either way.
ReplyDeleteNo ABC show has been renewed yet. However, The Middle is a certain renewal.
ReplyDeleteTotal viewers are 100% irrelevant for renewal purposes! Syndication economies, on the other hand, are not, and will most likely be the deciding factor here. I think that is why Community will be renewed and Whitney will not.
ReplyDeleteI would also add that these are not Zap2it final odds. They will publish them on Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteIt is a very likely cancellation I am afraid. I would be very surprised with a pickup at this point.
ReplyDeleteActually, for a first season show, ratings are like 90% the deciding factor (18-34 skew, political considerations with producing company, merchandise being the remaining 10%). By ratings, I mean relative ratings of course.
ReplyDeleteThe thing is, at least i see it this way, that Dan's emotions always marked the road of the Show. You saw it with Pierce on the second half of Season 2 and Season 3.
ReplyDeleteSeason 3 was a very complex Season based on Dan Harmons toughts, so it's obvious that Port & Guarascio could't follow that. I think they just made a bit of regresion to the characters till the begining of Season 3(Or Season 2 if you like), when they were less "dark and serious" and more manageable for them.
I believe they did an awesome job picking on such a personal-based show. People seems to not understand how dificult that task is. The show has now more of a Season One vibe, and furthermore, they are actually taking them off Greendale in case the show gets renewed.
Dan always said that the show wasn't about a Community College, that was just a scenario. If the show gets renew(Which i am very positive it will, for a Season of 13 episodes with a posibility of a back-9 order) they must go out of Greendale and i believe that Yogurt Place will be the new "Study Room F", at least that was the point of the episode for me...
The truth is that Go On and Whitney ended their Seasons with ratings even lower than a regular episode of Community(Go On:1.1 and Whitney:1.0) so if Community manages to pull a 1.5 on the Finale(Very posible) i believe it will be renewed.
I also think Go On will also be renewed...
Oh, ok. Great, thanks!
ReplyDeleteI would rather read what`s posted at Deadline this week, or even that school-newspaper Variety.
ReplyDeleteI hope Body of Proof gets renewed for another season! :D
ReplyDeleteI'm desperately hoping Community makes it to another season, but I do have my felt goatee ready, just in case...
ReplyDeleteSame here. It is definitely bubble, but I think it will happen, i am very hopeful. Personally, I would say about 80% odds.
ReplyDeleteHow to Live has got more chance than that!
ReplyDeleteI have to say, it is very refreshing discussing this with someone who is well versed in the going-ons of the show, both on and off camera. I was aware that Dan said the show wasn't about a Community College (which is why he wanted it named simply Community). And as the years progressed you could see them going more and more off campus with each subsequent year, making the transition a bit smoother for when they all graduated and could keep the show going. One of the ideas Dan mentioned in an interview was to have Abed start some business and Jeff be the lawyer, and other jobs, to keep them all close.
ReplyDeleteWhile I do still hold Dan in high regard as well as the direction he took the show, the writers are not as bad as a lot of people say. They had big shoes to fill, and I think it took them a few episodes to get the right feel of the show. Sure it doesn't have the complexities sometimes that Dan had, but they've kept the core group relatively strong (and Jeff's story has been solid).
And interesting note, I hadn't considered that Yogurt Place as a new study room for them. I assumed that Jeff would become a teacher at Greendale and still be able to see the rest of the group there until they graduate.
Yep, definetely agree with this. I say 75%, I really think it will be renewed and I for sure don't think the neighbors has a bigger chance of coming back
ReplyDeleteI would agree....
ReplyDeleteThose numbers sound flaky all around to me......
ReplyDeleteif by TN you mean The Neighbors, it appeared on the table below Te article indicating predicted renewal
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure about that, is How to live produced by another company? If it is then The Neighbors has bigger chances since ABc owns it
ReplyDeleteI don't see that as being a consideration for first season shows. When they are getting into close to syndication territory, yes; first seasons I don't, or else we should expect networks to only air their own produced shows
ReplyDeleteOh yes I know they predict its renewal, I just disagree with it not being on the bubble, for me it i a true tossup. I am leaning slightly towards a renewal but not enough to take it off the bubble, at all
ReplyDeleteTo be honest I find it funny seeing fans of cancelled shows going batshit crazy and saying "this network should be shut down", "the other shows are all stupid", "the audience is stupid", "the network execs are stupid", etc all over the comment section....
ReplyDeleteJust to see the frustration blow up into irrational trolling is pure popcorn fodder for me.
I can understand rooting for certain shows to get renewed, but to root for it to be canceled is frankly pathetic, no one is forcing them to watch those shows.
ReplyDeleteYeah I agree it's a bubble show and probably a true tossup but because ABC owns the show, its very likely to be renewed since it's cheaper to renew it than pick a new series in it's place
