Yesterday I had the opportunity to interview Eddie McClintock (Pete), Joanne Kelly (Myka), and Jack Kenny (Executive Producer) about the upcoming season 4.5 of Warehouse 13. Here’s 13 teases as to what I learned.
1.) The upcoming guest stars -
Anthony Stewart Head, playing a 16th century alchemist, will be in the last 3 eps.
Polly Walker, a nemesis of the Warehouse, will be in 5 eps
Joel Grey, a magician, will be in 1 ep
James Marsters, a professor, will be in 1 ep, the first one back
Enrico Colantoni and Missi Pyle will both be in 4.13 (more info on 2 and 13)
2.) Upcoming episode plots include a Las Vegas episode, an episode in Artie’s head, a pirate episode, the last time Pete drank (4.17), and a noir (4.13)
3.) Artie is going to have to deal with the guilt of what he did under the effect of the artifact
4.) Pete and Myka deal with Lena’s death but at the same time, “the agents know what they’re signing up for when they join.”
5.) Lena’s death is a permanent death. Her character was chosen as the member of the team to die as “it’s hard to write her into episodes because she’s not an agent.”
6.) Mrs. Fredrick, McPherson, and Dr. Calder will be in Artie’s head as he deals with his actions
7.) The talks about H.G. Wells spin-off is looking unlikely but Executive Producer Jack Kenny would still like it to happen in some form. “In Hollywood, nothing’s really dead.”
8.) Claudia’s connection to the Warehouse will be explored later this season
9.) Given the choice, Eddie McClintock would crossover with Antiques Roadshow
10.) McClintock would like season 4.5 to be remembered in the same vein as the rest of the show - as a “thrilleramedy”
11.) Jack Kenny would love for it to be remembered as the middle of 9 seasons.
12.) Joanne Kelly dishes that something will happen to Myka this season “that will change [her] forever.”
13.) The noir episode is more than just changing costumes and “turning color into black and white.” It was shot with the same lenses and colors as the classic stories. According to McClintock, “It really looks like a noir film.” Jack Kenny adds “set design and makeup really outdid themselves. It’s a fun ride.”
13a.) It was also an “acting exercise switching between noir-speak” and Pete and Myka talk.
Be on the lookout for a full transcript of the conversation later this week and be sure to watch Warehouse 13 Monday April 29 as it’s new time 10/9c on Syfy Channel.

13a) Pete & Myka talk i really hope it's about them i'am a huge pete myka shipper
ReplyDeleteMe, too! That totally needs to happen.
ReplyDeleteI meant the way that they speak to each other verses the way that they speak to the other people in the noir.
ReplyDeletei think there's been tension between them since the start of the programme but they've been fighting it
ReplyDeleteThis stuff sounds encouraging. I'm happy to hear that Artie's actions aren't just going to be shrugged off, as this was a major concern for me. It's also great that Polly Walker is going to be involved; she should make a terrific villain. And finally, more about Claudia and the Warehouse!
ReplyDeleteIt's a shame about Leena's death, though I'm glad it will be permanent as I hate convenient resurrections (yes, I'm looking at you, Agent Jinks). It just doesn't seem quite fair that they killed off the most "expendable" character. She was very enjoyable in the single episode this season in which she actually got out in the field; perhaps they should just have promoted her to an agent and given her more to do.
that's kind of a let down i think there's a lot of shippers for those 2
ReplyDeleteDoesn't mean they won't get together only that there's no confirmation one way or the other -- yet.
ReplyDeleteI agree that Lena's death was unfortunate but the way I understand it, they wanted Artie to have some real ramifications to his usage of that artifact. Also, this is Warehouse 13; just because a character is dead, does not mean we've seen the last of her.
ReplyDeleteSo many good tidbits and it sounds like its going to be a hoot! But it sounds like the end of the series, did SyFy announce its the last season?
ReplyDeleteI feel bad for Artie,he is going to have a hard time coping with what he did and all the pain he caused....
I'll wait for the rest of the transcript later during the week, thanks for posting this Robin!
No problem, Laura! it was my pleasure.
ReplyDeleteAs of yesterday, SyFy had not announced either way but Jack and Joanne seemed pretty confident that season five was on the cards.
On the other side of feeling bad for Artie, look at all the great acting we'll be getting from Saul Rubinek.
He is wonderful,i love that man! My heart always goes for out to tortured souls, and we know how this is going to effect Artie..
ReplyDeleteI always thought we would get a 5th season but for a second it didn't sound that way,i'm glad you got back to me about it..Whew,relief!! ;)
"11.) Jack Kenny would love for it to be remembered as the middle of 9 seasons."
ReplyDeleteThis show does not need nine seasons!
I couldn't agree more. It need fifteen. Or at the very least an even ten.
ReplyDelete:) for me it's totally the opposite I always kinda ship romance between male/female main characters but I've always
ReplyDeleteseen Pete and Myka as brother/sister :) And that's actually what I mike the most abouy WH13
I'd love for the episode in Artie's head to explore Artie's past relationship with Lena. We never really got to explore that relationship in depth, let alone Lena's character. But I bet it won't be a flashback episode.
