    Rob Duncan is my favorite because I had the pleasure of interviewing him for SpoilerTV. I also love his work on Castle and Last Resort

    My god, this man has made a amazing job with Castle! I absolutly love every music of season 5 of Castle without forgetting the "I just want you" score and Montgomery - the last stand!
    I'm really in love with all of his music! He's a genius!!

    How can you possibly not include MURRAY GOLD in this poll? He's one of the BEST composers ever, the music he made and makes for Doctor Who is just incredible. These are the only soundtracks I own where I'm otherwise not a fan of soundtracks (to listen to solely on CD, mind you - in the shows it's okay).
    Also, Mark Isham comes to mind, his music for Once Upon A Time is fantastic as well. And the aforementioned Blake Neely.

    I never take time to check who composed the music for the show, but after looking of the examples mentioned in the poll I'd go with Michael Giacchino, because I loved the music in all the shows he's worked on.

    Michael Giacchino. He wrote quite a few pieces for LOST, all wonderful, especially Sun's theme. Lately, I've been noticing how beautiful the score is on The Walking Dead, so Bear McCreary is my second choice.

    I'll go with Robert Duncan from today's composers. His scoring of the final episode of Season 4 of "Castle" is still with me, and multiple viewings on TNT syndication and my DVDs have not lessened its impact. But I also remain very fond of Henry Mancini for "Peter Gunn" and "Remington Steele" (among others) and Jerry Goldsmith for "Man from U.N.C.L.E.(among others). And Lalo Schifrin's opening for "Mission Impossible" remains without peer.

    I voted other: Thomas Newman - loved his Fried Green Tomatoes tracks (first of many); he's done Six Feet Under, so he can be categorized as TV music composer. I say this because I would vote Yann Tiersen - Amelie Poulain and Goodbye Lenin are jewels amongst his recordings.

    Jeff Beal is my favorite by far.

    He is the composer/ musician that did the theme and scoring for HBO's Carivale, Luck, and Rome as well as the scoring for many TV series like Jessie Stone movies, In Plain Sight, Monk, Stphen King's Nightmares and Dreamscapes, Netflix's House of Cards and some movies like Appaloosa, He Was a Quiet Man, and Pollock. Well, and too many others to list frankly.

    I love the unique quality of his work, often times incorporating horns into his work. It is almost ambient and always captures the mood of the scene or series so perfectly. Plus, it makes for an incredible insomniac sleep aid!

    As I understood it, Giacchino did ''invent'' the sound and some of the main themes (like the end credits theme), but that was just for the first season too... There's a very clear difference between the music in season 1 and all the others, and that's because of Tilton!

    Yep. If you go to his website (or own the CD) you'll see he is ONLY credited for tracks 3 and 6, while Abrams (like most Bad Robot's works) is credited for opening sequence themes, and that Tilton and Sieter are credited for the rest. (And it makes sense that those 2 tracks are probably also "Pilot" music tracks)


    But to Tilton's credit, he produced a score that is at time reminiscent to Giacchino's style.

    Chris Tilton is very good! He's worked with Giacchino many times, so I think that explains why he has a similar style. By the way, the music for Alcatraz was composed by him as well after the Pilot, which was scored by Giacchino like on Fringe. :) I would still really love a soundtrack for that show... That main theme was so good.

    Three Majestros I love so much, that I tried to hunt down all of their Scores:
    1. Michael Giacchino (especially the emotional tracks)
    2. Bear McCreary (especially the actions tracks)
    3. Ramin Djawadi (all around Person of Interest and Game of Thrones)

    Robert Duncan for Castle, Mark Snow for The X-Files and Bear McCreary for Battlestar Galactica & Defiance. Sorry, could choose just one here, because all three are genius TV music composers and always adds, or added, very compelling music to the shows. So, it had to be three. :)

    Actually, Abrams did the opening theme while Giacchino did the pilot score for Fringe (He is credited for ONLY 2 tracks on the season 1 sdtk), Chris Tilton an Chad Sieter are responsible for anything new and rearrangements for the rest of the series.

    I think Daniel Licht really deserves a mention too! He's created a very recognizable and unique score for Dexter. He actually uses knives and chains for the music! I hear the soundtrack used all the time on Dutch reality TV shows hehe.
