Chad L. Coleman and Sonequa Martin-Green, who recurred on Season 3 of The Walking Dead as Tyreese and Sasha, have been upgraded to series regulars for the fourth season of AMC’s zombie-apocalypse smash, TVLine has learned.
Additionally, Emily Kinney — who joined the show in Season 2 as Hershel’s youngest daughter Beth — has also been elevated to a regular.

why emily kinney and not Melissa McBride?
ReplyDeleteDoes it mean Sonequa's Tamara on OUAT is a goner on the finale? Or will she be able to play both characters for some time next season?
ReplyDeletei think tamara is staying just until the finale. there's still time
ReplyDeleteShe's in the finale, she was there during the filming.
ReplyDeleteProbably they're gonna kill off Carol, since they're killing off every original character. Well played, writers.
ReplyDeleteThis show makes stupid decisions sometimes, like killing off Laurie Holden's character Andrea. Melissa McBride and Scott Wilson deserved to be promoted to main cast. Carol has been there since season 1 and yet in half a season 2 characters get there before her. Stupid.
ReplyDeleteMelissa McBride deserves to be in the main cast more than all three of them. Damn, hopefully she gets promoted in a few days and its like a separate announcement....
ReplyDeleteThis is bull. No one deserves a promotion more than Melissa McBride. Can't believe it.
ReplyDeletePetition to get Melissa McBride promoted to series regular. If you care, please sign: http://twitition.com/8cb3n
ReplyDeleteSeries regular doesn't mean safety. It just means they get more focus. Andrea and Lori were regulars. Carol's been recurring since season 1, and she's still kicking.
ReplyDeleteand Scott Wilson too
ReplyDeleteScott Wilson (Hershel) has also been recurring. It stranges me that he hasn't been elevated to a regular.
ReplyDeleteGuys, Melissa and Scott are already regulars; in episodes they don't even appear in (Walk With Me, Clear, Prey), they're credited, just like those in the main titles, whereas Emily or even Irone back in the day weren't. It's possible that Emily, Chad and Sonequa are just going to get the same treatment, and Melissa and Scott might get bumped up to the main credits. Or all five are. This is just an indication that they're going to get some prominence, and that's a very awesome thing, 'cause Beth needs some love, Tyreese is a bro, and Sasha is pretty cool too. I'm very happy with this decision!
ReplyDeleteI think Tamara will appear in the first 3-4 episodes next season. Her casting sheet said her role will expand to S3.
ReplyDeleteNice! Thanks for the info!
ReplyDeleteI'd actually bet that they're going to kill off Beth. More screen time, more time for audience sympathy, higher chance of being the inevitable mid-season finale death. Also she's just pretty useless and uninteresting compared to Carol, at least from what we've seen
ReplyDeleteI dont think they kiled off enough people in the seasons last episode.
ReplyDeleteI know this is a spoilersite, but I'd wish that they wouldn't be so easy with information about who is upgraded and who is not. Leave it in the air, then you will have the audience on their shoes while watching The Walking Dead and/or Once Upon A Time for Sonequa Martin-Green.
ReplyDeleteShe's actually the only female survivor from the original group to still be alive!
ReplyDeleteWell, I'm glad that some of the characters are getting more screentime. With so many huge players gone, it's time to focus on some of the others.
Carol will die early next season ....they are killing off one-bye-one all of the cast from Franks Darabont casting which were Laurie Holden,Jeffrey DeMunn,Noah Emmerich and now Melissa McBride and retool the season with Scott Gimple and a new character named Roy Stark is currently in the process of being cast, and the actor will be a series regular.....
ReplyDeleteI guess Eily Kinney's role will be expanded. They only just let her kill a zombie last week, so I guess she'll do more of that. Also, I can't believe I didn't notice that Tamara and Sasha are the same actress. I wonder which one wears a wig?
ReplyDeleteAs with any job, length of service doesnt automatically entitle a person to a promotion.
ReplyDeleteHopefully they have more character development for these characters. I'm hoping Tyreese and Sasha last longer than just season 4.
ReplyDeleteNoah Emmerich was in two episodes. Both of which were done LONG before Darabont got fired.
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't matter .....he was still part of his original cast and was hand pick by Darabont ....I was just pointing out who worked with the director in previous films.....
ReplyDeleteactually, the comic book does the same thing, but different characters, for an example in there, carol is dead but sophia's alive, Andrea's alive, Daryl doesn't exist, but still, most original characters are dead. But ain't that a typicla thing for zombie-fiction?
ReplyDeleteand I liked it, I thik it's cool ow they do that, to be honest, I wold like rick to Die in season 4, maybe close to the end but stilll, maybe even early in season 5, cause he's interesting, but I would really like to see him go in the end of the upcomming season, like, he starts to be a good leader, and people see him as an example, and then he dies, or, he could switch roles with tyreese form the comics..that would be cool too..!
Melissa McBride needs to be a regular character too... She is great! I love Carol!!!! Emily why???? Very sad with this notice...
