They don't even try to fake like they want Sam to have any effing friends on the show. Charlie so obviously has that "connection" with Dean and she'll never have any sort of one with Sam. Or any other guest star who appears on this show. Unless it's someone EVIL. Then that's Sam's BFF for the night.
I have no idea other than he's smiling... (or maybe grimacing) at tragedy likely (/sarcasm)...at being sidelined again while Dean plays "dress-up" in another RT episode. I'm beginning to feel FD has something against JP OR RT is a "closet" Dean/Charlie Shipper LOL. Sam seems okey dokey by 8.21 so he must not be too harmed by the easypeasy second trial. Seriously I appreciate that Dean is concerned about Sam enough to bench him if this episode didn't scream "Dean gets to re-bond with another recurring character while Sam has to wait by the car again (figuratively)".
If Charlie is at the bunker then I think she'll probably have a few scenes with Sam too.
I really love her friendship with Dean, she brings out a more fun side of him, because she doesn't have as much of the angst or pain as everyone else in his life. I hope this episode will have some fun moments between them like their last one did.
As awesome as that'd be, a few scenes don't necessarily mean a meaningful connection. Sam was in a few scenes with Krissy, Charlie and a few other guest stars prior and it didn't amount to much of anything. It's not the quantity of screentime so much as the quality, I guess is how I'd put it. After almost five seasons on the show, Sam and Castiel have no REAL relationship. And that's sad. And I don't even like Castiel.
I think he had a few good scenes with Charlie in her first episode, although I haven't seen it in a while.
Cas and Sam got closer in season 5, so they may again since Cas will be around in a few more episodes a season.
The person they should be writing a stronger relationship with is Kevin. If they won't then I'd say bring in someone new, and bring Jody back too.
The show has lost track of Sam's personality, which seems to mean they can't write relationships for him unless it's someone telling him he needs normal.
Yes I wouldnt be entirely confident myself that even if Jody did return that Jeremy or the writers would remember or care about that connection. I do to wish that it was realized that Sam is indeed a human and therefore doesnt live on a island however judging from the way they wrote Amelia I dread to think what their idea of what a Sam connection is.
Charlie again, yay! I like her, she is so funny. Charlie/Dean, I love their friendship, they are a good team and their hug, wow, why is she a lesbian?!
tbh I'm kind of irritated. The only hugs he ever gives are to Sam and only when he comes back from the dead. That's kind of just another dagger the writers have thrown at the brothers. It just doesn't seem like something Dean would do.
That's not the point. The point is he's not a hugger. Yes he's given them to others like Bobby I forgot. But randomly hugging some girl like that, he doesn't really do that except for people he's really close to and when they have died or thinks they're going to die.
We have to see what the context is here. If I remember correctly, I think Charlie suppose to be hiding something. Maybe there's something really bad for her and she hugged him first and Dean just hugged back. The ''randomly'' is hard to say without seeing the episode first. And its not ''some girl'' he randomly met 5 seconds at the end of the episode, there's already some kind of friendship between them and there's an evolution. First it was the ''sister I never wanted'' thing, second time around she was getting better at dealing with monsters and her fear and there was a nice talk with Dean. And now...we'll see
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Can't wait dammit!!!Why isn't Wednesday the 24th YET?!?!
ReplyDeleteAw, the Dean and Charlie hug. Can't wait for this episode!
ReplyDeleteDon't like Charlie and suspect Sam is going to be marginalized. Don't really care too much about this episode
ReplyDeleteCharlie, Charlie, Charlie/Dean, Charlie/Dean ... who's the guy in the pics with them?

ReplyDeleteWow a smile from Sam, I love it and maybe a brother talk at Baby.
ReplyDeleteSo true!
ReplyDeleteSam's friends are either demons (Meg, Ruby, Brady), monsters (Lenore, Amy, Madison), or annoying wastes of time (Amelia)!
I hope the hugging means that Charlie survives to the end of the episode.

I'm not sure if being friends with monsters is a bad thing - Lenore was good, as was Madison.
ReplyDeleteI do wish Sam had more friends, but he has human friends, like Jody. They just don't seem to show up now.
If Charlie is at the bunker then I think she'll probably have a few scenes with Sam too.

ReplyDeleteAw, I love Dean's friendship with Charlie. And Dean is hugging AGAIN. Love him.
ReplyDeleteSo apparently for the second half of the season it's Dean with the emotional arc (bonding with others) while Sam has the myth arc (Hell Trials).
Charlie again, yay! I like her, she is so funny. Charlie/Dean, I love their friendship, they are a good team and their hug, wow, why is she a lesbian?!

ReplyDeleteUm, Dean's allowed to hug other people. It's not just exclusive to Sam. He's hugged Bobby, too, a one point, I think.

ReplyDeleteIt will only get better if they get rid of Carter and get in someone who recognizes that the show has two brothers as the main characters.
ReplyDeleteGood one!
ReplyDeleteIt's just a hug. He's not hug cheating on Sam. And Dean and Charlie have gotten close. He hugged Benny, too, I'm pretty sure.
ReplyDeleteI am not seeing a problem here.
if you dont mind i sent you a following request on twitter :) since i finally found someone here who is also on twitter.
ReplyDeleteDean's hugged a lot of people, just this season: Sam, Benny, Cas, Garth, Kevin, Charlie. It reminds me of the "I wuv hugs" t-shirt. :)
ReplyDeleteSam's smile caught my attention and Dean's hug haha. Nice to have her again looks like a fun episode
