Supernatural - 8.20 - Pac Man Fever - Podcast
Apr 29, 2013
Podcast SupernaturalHey there all you wayward sons and daughters! The Team Winchester Podcast is back with food
for thought on a brand spanking new episode of Supernatural. Up for discussion this week? Episode 8.20: Pac Man Fever. As promised, this episode is super duper and complete because Lilith managed to wrangle Dahne back into the fold (you don't even want to know the copious amounts of bribes it took). The gals are happy, perky and upbeat and gave the episode high marks all around but of course it is served up in typical fashion which is a blend of appreciative fan and honest critic. Enjoy and don't forget to let us know what you think, we have one more Listener Feedback episode coming up, so speak up and be heard.

BOTH Lilith and I liked this episode, so a small miracle has occurred. I like how Robbie Thompson didn't kill my joy for Charlie by making her an uber hunter or having her save the day again. This episode had laughs and some deep emotional resonance that wasn't emoangsty, manipulative or trite. All in all a great episode - minus the freaking waste of the clothing montage of course.
ReplyDeleteInteresting as usual, thanks for taking the time to put the podcast out.
ReplyDeleteIt's nice that you both enjoyed the episode.

However even if the ep turned out better than expected, I've gotten to the stage where I can't seem to extrapulate a better ep from the overall season.
X
There have been too many wrongs done to the show by Carver for a simple brotherly hug ( which I adore by the way ) to make up for them.
X
I know it has practically become an obsession now but Sam's not looking has destroyed any credibility for me about the new-found brotherly huggings.
X
We are expected to believe that Sam now cares about Dean when Carver trashed the brotherly bond in episode one with no valid explanation!
X
As for Felicia Day, she is a old as Dean so I'm afraid I can't quite picture her in the little sister mode, and anyway I'm not interested in her or her back story.
X
I would have been much more curious to know the whys and wherefores to Sam not looking, but now that Sam and Dean have been practically demoted to guest star status, I suppose knowing about everyone else's motives and explanations are much more important!
X
Remember in Changing Channels when we got the sit-com parody that made everyone laugh back then, well that's what SPN feels like now. A parody of itself.
I think sometimes people get to a point where no episode will satisfy them and everything is a disappointment. It's sad but it happens. I am not there yet but I will be leaving Supernatural at the end of this season regardless.
ReplyDeleteIt's kind of funny because a lot of people who don't normally agree are agreeing on this season. Lilith and I are finding ourselves very much more similar than we thought we would. I would have to rewatch 2-3 other episodes to figure out if this was my favorite of the season but it definitely could be.
