With less than three weeks to go until ABC unveils its 2013-14 TV line-up at its May 14 Upfront presentation, questions still surround Joss Whedon‘s pilot about the agents of Marvel’s S.H.I.E.L.D. — which internally at the network is currently dubbed Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Question No. 1: Why the ongoing name change? “I think it had to do with legal things,” Whedon told TVLine at Wednesday night’s Iron Man 3 premiere event in Los Angeles. Alluding to a similarly named series that put FX on the map, he quipped: “Ask Michael Chiklis, because I think it’s his fault.”

I am looking forward to this show. Hope ABC wises up with the schedule.
ReplyDeleteJust please don't launch it on a Thurs ABC, can't wait for it to be formally picked up at the upfronts
ReplyDeleteI think thats what they have in mind. The Thursday 8 PM slot is wide open.
ReplyDeleteThey are so stupid if they do that again, they shouldn't risk the show. Launch it somewhere else and if it is a success then move it. Damn it ABC I want this show to be huge (well huge for this day and age ratings wise).
ReplyDeleteI really do need the resurrection to make sense.... I do! And I don't want it to be a cop out! I DO NOT!
ReplyDeleteBut it's such a bad companion for Grey's!
ReplyDeleteThis show will thrive if ABC allows it and doesn't put it in their deathslot.
ReplyDeleteThat may be the shortest "interview" I've ever read....
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, I think they are going to put it right there, at Thursdays at 8. Even though I don't like the idea at all because I think the show could be much better used elsewhere, I think there is a decent chance the show can do great there, even if its potential is somehow limited.
ReplyDeleteI think this show will be what we all wished Heroes should have been during it's later seasons. They reduced the importance of "The Company" so much as the show went on.
ReplyDeleteSure, it might survive it. It certainly has a better chance than most other shows they tried to launch there, but why risk it when you potentially have a great hit show on your hands? There is very little that can compete with CBS's comedyhour on thursdays.
ReplyDeleteYeah I agree with you 100%, it is not the spot I would pick for it
