It was awsome! Absolutely amazing how they fit Shaw, Elias, Beecher, Greer, and HR. All in one episode. My only complaint is that Shaw went her separate way yet again, and didn't at least stick around with our dynamic duo till the last few minutes of the episode. Overall though, it was definitely a phenomenal episode that achieved both of its objectives. To present the case of the week, while at the same time incorporating elements that foreshadow the season finale, and continue the progress of its other interwoven story-lines.
This is like the perfect show. I never can find anything wrong (not that I look for it) and I'm never bored.
Awesome episode.
I had a feeling Cal was going to die as soon as he started asking Elias questions. And when the phone rang where Finch was parked I knew who the number the machine would give belonged to. The scene of Carter finding him was quite dramatic with that music.
On a lighter note, the scene where Finch called Bear traitor for not even barking at Shaw was funny. XD
After every single episode, I always think to myself "this show is just getting started." And that's after more than 40 episodes.
Beecher is dead thanks to HR. Elias is fighting a bigger player. Shaw is hunting down Root. Greer is onto Harold's scent. The Chinese are being used as a decoy by Greer's outfit. Monica is off to work for the company Finch owns (Finch will ensure she is employed), and she's yet another character we could see recurring.
Oh, and Reese continues to kick ass, and Bear is TV's coolest canine
It's going to be a big job updating the Character Relationship Chart this week!
Line of the night: Shaw ~ "You think I should have a hobby. Now what would that be? Hanging around a derelict library with you, your poorly socialized guard dog.... and Bear here?"
I so love Shaw! XD She adds so much to the show with her few appearances and now to have her hunting Root sets up some incredible possibilities!
Awesome episode, but given this is Person of Interest that is standard, the show just continues to kick all kinds of ass. This week we got Shaw, Cal, Elias, HR, the dude who talked to Kara, and made it all work without seeming to press too much into one episode.
Also like the idea of Shaw digging into Root, I'm still guessing Root will come back in some kind of big way at the end of the season and be who Finch/Reese will primarily have to deal with. I'm also thinking Root may dig into Finch a little more and find out he still keeps an eye on Grace, and she may be pulled into it too. Or maybe I just want to see more of Grace. And Root. And Shaw... I'll stop now.
And the best thing of the episode, primarily of most episodes, is Bear got to be involved! I love it when they bring in on a case. When the security guards rolled around the corner and saw Bear just standing there staring at them... ya... I'd be crapping my pants. Good stuff.
I knew Beecher was dead and I really wished he wasn't cause it was just too expected a turn. I told my best friend, back wen the FBI rejected Carter because of him that he was a red herring and would turn out not to be part of HR and everything that happened after that followed the cliche faithfully. They made use of a couple of cliches but it didn't diminish my enjoyment at all. I still rate the ep as awesome. Shaw popped in long enough to get a new hobby. Bear showed us that he hasn't forgotten his training (despite being called a traitor by Finch), and Finch had a like mind to talk computer babble with.
This episode was great, it was worth the wait. Bad news is that after waiting 3 weeks for this episode we had to wait another 3 weeks for the next episode.
So with Elias' and HR's cat and mouse game, Greer going after Finch, Shaw going after Root and Finch realizing the virus is targeting the Machine. One hell of a finale is coming up.
I hate to disappoint you, but we're going to have to wait 3 more weeks for the next new one. I would get used to it. CBS does this during the spring half of the season every year. They skip around like crazy. The next new episode, In Extremis, airs April 25th. The good news is that the rest of the episodes will all air on consecutive weeks starting with that one.
Damn that sucks. It reminds me of days when Lost was on and, particularly in Season 2, they had so many gaps that it was unbelievably irritating. Well thanks for letting me know and when the next episode airs. So let me rephrase my last line:
Awesome as always. Probably the best series' season on public TV since Fringe season 2 and Lost season 5 (for me of course - I don't watch many shows).
Nah you're not alone. I don't really 'read around' this show much like I did with, say, LOST or Fringe, so everything I know comes from the show itself (and the comments on the STV post-show polls of course)... and it seems that is not enough to fully understand the ins and outs (unless I actually just happen to have a really crap memory, which is entirely possible).
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

Wait for the finals episodes. I think they keep the dynamic between her and the team machine for the season finale.
ReplyDeleteWTH? Brilliant episode, so incredibly writed and so cool in all levels. I'm back later to talk more.
ReplyDeletePlus: Eight blue screen appears n this one and the machine go nuts.

Can it be next Thursday now?

Super Awesome to me.
ReplyDeleteYup. Military skills versus Root skills (I don't even know how to call them... hacking, but also manipulative). That's gonna be astonishing!

ReplyDeleteReally? What the hell is wrong with America's TV schedulers? Absolutely clueless.
