  2. the episode was good but since they killed sean I hate it

  3. Noooo! Sean!

I haven't cried that hard for a TV character in a long while. :(

I've always been worried for his safety but didn't want to believe he'd die. I got a sick feeling of dread when Sean started hurting. I just knew.

Now who is Alex going to be with? :(

    ReplyDelete
  4. amazing! I loved the twist with Amanda or should I say Helen. it makes sense as to why shes so.. crazy! and R.I.P sean

    ReplyDelete
  5. why the heck would they kill Sean?!?!?!?!? Who is Alex supposed to be with now? I'm really mad! I liked the character!!

    ReplyDelete
  6. OMG that Amanda back story was so disturbed, now i really see why shes so bad...i feel so bad for her after that...i found it kinda inhumane how Nikita didnt really feel bad for what happened to Amanda but but was mad about what she did right after the fact...RIP Sean

    ReplyDelete
  7. Nikita couldn't get past the fact Amanda killed her own sister when she was trying to save her. I wouldn't have been able to either.

It's horrible what happened to Amanda, but there is always a choice. Amanda chose to inflict pain on others instead of trying to be better than her father.

  8. Owen. woo hoo. lol. i knw ppl wont like that at all

  9. Well...I personally don't ship it but some people have been wanting an Alex and Birkhoff hookup for a while now. The rules of logic state that recent events would never allow it to happen, but since when has this show followed logic?

That's a compliment by the way.

  10. i am too emotional to speak rite now. :( Sean was amazing. i'll miss him. Amazing Ep

    ReplyDelete
  11. Owen is "Sam" right now, and based on spoilers, it seems we won't get him back this season. Hopefully Nikita is renewed and he can be saved.

Owen is my second choice for Alex, only one really left.

Alex has a bad track record man. 2 love interests dead, 1 had to disappear in order not to die. :(

    ReplyDelete
  12. Alex and Owen are more likely and Birkhoff has Sonya, who I think is perfect for him.

  13. Nooo. I can't deal with Sean's death. And now another character is not going to make it in the finale? :/

    http://tvline.com/2013/04/19/may-season-finale-spoilers-2013-sweeps-photos-once-upon-a-time/#21/nikita/

    SPOILERS:
“We have some pretty big deaths coming up,” he adds, noting that “there's one in the finale that I think is one of the most WTF shocks we'll have through the season.” Those who assume the goner will be Big Bad Amanda want to rethink their theory. “I don't necessarily feel the same way about [killing off] Amanda as I did with Percy [last season],”

  14. Since Sean died, everyone seems to be thinking who Alex's new love interest would be. I say, who needs a love interest. In fact, until Alex gets a real "normal" life I think she should take a break from having someone that would eventually end up like her previous flings.

I didn't want Sean to die in a cliche hero moment. However, I thought Sean's death was a little anti-climatic. I know from what Craig said that it wasn't supposed to be a big deal, but still. I was kinda gutted. I'm glad they at least in a sense they made it realistic. There is no way that many bullets is going to be sprayed and almost everyone is gonna make it out alive. If anything it reminded that Team Nikita isn't completely invincible, well, some character have to be. Is it a recurring thing that Alex always kisses her love interests before they die (Thom)? I hope Alex gets some bloody revenge.

Honestly, this season I have found Amanda a little pathetic. She no longer really seems to have a "Amanda goal" or that ambition she's always had. Now that we know about her past, which is horrifying, I find her even more pathetic. I want her to go back to the old season 1-2 Amanda.

On the other hand, I really love this Sam character. He really is unpredictable. I haven't decided if I like Owen or Sam better...I guess both. I really enjoy his scenes and I wonder how/if he will interact with Team Nikita in upcoming episodes.

Sonya and Birkhoff were badass this episode, I'm glad to see them "in the field".

  15. Loved this sad ep.... rip Sean.... bada$$ Birkhoff, and the reveal that Amanda is psycho Helen, and the mental timebombs that are Alex, Owen/Sam, and whatever she did to Niki (that will probably be the finale - I wonder if she made her a "sleeper agent", perhaps to try to assassinate the president?) are still in play, as well as the severely understaffed and dying Division trying to come back, and now a heck of a lot more "rogue" agents out in the world to catch......

  16. As to "who" Alex will have as a love interest in (an almost certain) Season 4, the obvious answer is Ryan. He's all cerebral and she's all physical--they perfectly complement each other. Plus, Lyndsy and Noah look Great together--and after shooting him, the romantic "dance" should be very interesting! "Nikita" has too many scruffy, bad boy types (Owen, Michael, Birkhoff)--and Sean had that rough edge, too. The show needs "balance" and even though he's sometimes too political, Ryan is a good balance to the other males--and the preview for next week, shows that he is out of his coma.

  17. why on earth did they have to kill Sean?! I was betting Sonja. Episode was mind blowing and Sean's death scene was heartbreaking, wanted to cry!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  18. I don't cry at shows often, it's rare, I think only 24 and Torchwood did it. But now nikita has as well.
As soon as Sean looked in pain I knew that he had been shot. It didn't make sense to me as to why there was no blood, but Sean's explanation left me in tears. Awesome character, the show won't be as good without him.
Alternatively, Alex will go for revenge. I'm not quite sure who shot Sean, and to be honest, they're probably dead. Alex wilo go for revenge on Amanda, who she blames for making her who she is now.
As for Owen (I refuse to believe that he's fully Sam), can he please, please kill Amanda?

If they killed off Sean now, who will they kill off in the finale?!

    ReplyDelete
  19. Wow mindblowing! It's so Good!! Perfect ep!

    ReplyDelete
  20. I never felt I really warmed up to Sean. I think his fake death earlier in the season kind of officially had me settled into "he's a member of the team." Which is sad since I love Alex. That being said, his death was damn sad. I kept looking to see if he had gotten hit by a stray bullet by the dumb chick, but they did well to make it a tiny spot on his side. Still, you think there'd be some blood on his shirt. Wonder why they offed him like that?

The rest of the episode. Amanda's backstory was interesting and I always enjoy watching weird setups like how they did it. Melinda Clarke plays evil so brilliantly! And Sonya was bad ass! When she shot the guy beating up Birkhoff, I literally said "Damn, that's hot."

Another solid episode for an extremely solid show.

    ReplyDelete
  21. WTF I DID NOT SIGN FOR THIS, I'M CRYING whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat

    ReplyDelete
  22. Owen totally went ''Angelus'' the last couple of episodes. So couldn't stop hearing the song goodbye from Michelle Branch in the end when Sean died. Such a fitting song to sad ending.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I didn't think it was going to be Sean. My heart stopped when they were about to kill Birkhoff in the server room. Thankfully he didn't die, phew, but my heart broke when Sean just collapsed, I knew he got shot! I remember when they first met *_* I loved them together so much. Poor Alex, her boyfriends are always dying.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Yeah, I'm not looking forward to it. Sean was bad enough. :(

    ReplyDelete
  25. This was the best episode of the season (for me, yet), I loved how crazy it all got between the change of amanda's past and present... so creepy and so awesome

    ReplyDelete
  26. Maybe Nathan's coming back (?) Alex and Nathan made a pretty great couple :)

    ReplyDelete
  27. Isn't the song "Goodbye by Apparat ft Soap&Skin" ?? (so freaking sad...)

    ReplyDelete
  28. I think it's the president he's referring to. If you think about it, killing the president is about as BIG as deaths come and maybe it's Nikita that kills her or is framed for doing so. So he can get away with telling people a Major character will be dead by seasons end, without killing anyone actually considered Major by the fans. In short it's a fake out.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Actually Sonya is a lot more like Owen's dead girlfriend Emily. I'm done with Alex's angst ridden relationships based on a tragic past events. The single most cringeworthy scene that Nikita has ever produced was the slow motion butterfly stare that Owen gave Alex. I want her to have a little levity in her life, the poor soul has had enough of other people's crap on her already burdened shoulders. If it must be anyone, I hope it's Birkhoff.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I really hope Alex isn't going to be with ANYONE any time soon (since next season will almost definitely be the last, probably for the rest of the series). I love that girl but she is so deeply traumatized and messed-up and losing another person she loved, another guy she had feelings for (and Sean obviously meant much more than Thom), is only going to make it worse. I have a hard enough time seeing how she's going to recover and become sane again, never mind having a functional, healthy romantic relationship.

    ReplyDelete
  31. A good backstory for a villain informs and explains their actions without excusing them. It makes you better understand how they became the monster you know without claiming that everything they've done is forgivable because of it.

I see Amanda a lot like Bela from Supernatural, Katherine from The Vampire Diaries or Regina from Once Upon a Time in that respect (interesting that it's usually female villains who get this treatment): it's easy to understand how someone who underwent the horrors she did became so twisted and cruel, and sure, I even feel sorry for her. But at the same time, it doesn't mean I no longer see her in a villainous light. She's fully responsible for all of the death and destruction she's caused, it's just that now I know how she became the person who could do these things.

Let's not forget, there are many characters who went through similar traumatic events, but they didn't become monsters like Amanda. In the end, there's always a choice, like you say.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Is that really what matters? Sean's body isn't cold yet and people are wondering who the next boyfriend will be? No offense but I don't understand why characters can't be single for a while, especially someone as effed-up as Alex who's in no shape to have a healthy relationship after enduring another loss.

    ReplyDelete
  33. "I told you I was so much worse than all you bitc*es put together" Your damn right Amanda (or shall I say Helen), you are totally worse. Melinda Clarke plays a brilliant villain, love her character.

    ReplyDelete
  34. wow, this episode was insane!!!

    ReplyDelete
  35. I agree, but I do hope eventually, before the last episode (if we have a final season - we should if the CW is kind and smart) that she finds someone.

I can't imagine her with anyone else right now, but after she has some time to heal, she deserves to not be alone.

*Sigh* Killing Sean at all was a bad move, but killing him so late in the series was even worst imo.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I don't expect her to get another guy next episode - I certainly wouldn't want her too. I loved her and Sean together (Loved Sean period) and I was hoping beyond hope this would never happen.

I'm just wondering now how the writers could ever find Alex someone else. She can't forever be alone, that would make me feel even sadder if she never found someone else to be happy with. She deserves better than a lifetime without love. She's still young.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Yeah, poor Alex can't catch a break. :(

    ReplyDelete
  38. Yep, it is. It's a haunting song. Perfect for the ending of the episode. Made me cry even harder. I even cried while I was listening to the song this morning (now that's a new one- I don't cry listening to music!).

    ReplyDelete
  39. Pretty sure when the rebellion leader (what was her name?) fired her gun like crazy, that was when he got shot.

I just can't understand how Sean didn't realize he'd been shot. He already been shot before. I would have thought he could tell the difference between hurt ribs and a gunshot wound.

As for the blood, wasn't there some on his shirt? It wasn't a lot, but there was some.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I felt the same way about that scene as well!

    ReplyDelete
  41. I wish, but after killing Sean, I wouldn't put it past them.

Owen is obviously safe (he leaves in episode 20) and Nikita, Michael, and Alex are pretty untouchable as they're the core main cast. If one of them would die a lot of people would give up on the show. Birkhoff is the tech guy and is comic relief and a favored character, so I doubt it would be him.

It narrows down to Ryan and Sonya. I don't want either to die though. :(

    ReplyDelete
  42. I'd rather have her with a new character then. I like Birkhoff/Sonya a lot. Of course, if she ends up dying in the finale, then I would have no idea. I can't picture Alex and Birkhoff together. I can't really see Alex/Owen either though....

    I want Sean back. :(

    ReplyDelete
  43. Thank you! That's all I was trying to say. Plus, I really did love Sean.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I'll clarify: I definitely don't want Alex to spend the rest of her life alone and without love. Hopefully one day, after she's had time to properly heal from all the crap she's gone through, she'll find someone to be with (and he doesn't die on her or anything). However, I don't think it should happen during the course of the series unless we unexpectedly get a Season 5 or more. It would just be too soon, and not believable.
As things stand right now, I think Alex should end the series single, but after having recovered significantly from everything that happened to her, to a point where we can imagine her finding love again. If they plan on giving her another love interest soon, it better be done pretty damn well or else it would just be like spitting in Alex/Sean fans' faces.

  45. Killing Off Alex, Michael or Birkhoff is a redundant move. It's short-term shock tactics vs long-term loss. One of them dying only leads to another revenge mission. A revenge mission isn't a storyline it's a dead end. Killing The President sets up so many situations.
They'd be on the run, hunted by government agencies with ex division agents lending a hand in exchange for pardons. Ryan's experience would be invaluable. Amanda will have more power than ever aligning herself with "THE SHOP" those 2 are a match made in hell. She would also have rogue agents working for her. The higher the rise, the bigger the fall.
They would have to find Owen because he has the black box. Forging an uneasy alliance with a loose cannon. That would cause conflict within the group. it would also re-establish the fish out of water element that made him interesting. Birkhoff and Owen would be at each other's throats all the time, making for some fun times.
Birkhoff would have to rebuild shadownet so they have a fighting chance.
Alex's money will be essential in keeping them afloat and she'll have to find a way to be trusted by the group and prove herself again.
Like I said Killing a major character with a full season to go is not a storyline, it's revenge missions ad nauseum. We've been there, done that.

  46. There was some blood on his shirt, a small patch. Since his shirt was dark I didn't notice until watching the scene again. It wasn't a lot, but he was internally bleeding.

It's 2 minutes in on this video:

  47. I loved Sean/Alex, second only after Nikita/Michael, but I'd like to see her with someone before the end. Maybe in a five years later flash forward or something. Or just done really well as you said.

I could except it if it happened maybe a few episodes before next year's finale.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I'm not arguing with you. I very much hope it's not one of the members of the group. As I said, Sean was terrible enough. I'm not sure how I'd take another death of the core team.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Every week I think this show can't get any better..and it does. Sad about Sean, feel bad for Alex. The back story was fantastic.

    ReplyDelete
  50. I guess they could go the flash forward route in the series finale. Maybe just a quick scene where Alex is sitting in a cafe or something, a cute guy starts chatting up to her and they smile at each other in a way that implies they end up together.

    ReplyDelete
  51. The episode itself was fantastic from the beginning until the end. I couldn't decide if I was more looking forward to the Amanda backstory or the division conflict, it really kept me on the edge of my seat, it was perfect. But the ending... Why did they have to kill of Sean. I hate it. I know a lot of people here didn't care much for him and looked at him mostly as a plot device, but I loved Sean, I think he was the best person on the show moral wise and he was very interesting to watch in this moral grey world. So sad that he is gone, and I am not sure what will be of Alex now... So sad. My favorite thing since the middle of season 2 for Nikita has been the "team feel" it has and now Sean, who was a major part of that, is gone, Owen is a villain, and Alex is crazy, with Ryan becoming Percy more and more each episode. So sad. But the episode was perfect.

    ReplyDelete
  52. This episode continues the "Nikita" writers preference for "action" over "complexity" or depth in story telling. The "zombification" of characters (Owen, Alex, now Nikita) is more than a little simplistic. It pushes the viewer way beyond "suspension of disbelief" and into "jumping the shark" territory. My guess is the show's producers are so focused on chasing ratings, that they'll do anything to pump up the action. Too bad..."Nikita" could have been a Contender to "Homeland" and "The Americans." As for Sean's death: that was pretty much a certainty a month or two ago when Dillon Casey stopped tweeting from Toronto, where the show is filmed. And, my predictions for the future remain: 1. Sonya will bite the dust before the end of the season, causing Birkhoff to go into a tail spin (which gives Aaron the opportunity for some meaty scenes); and 2. Alex & Ryan will go through the dance-of-love. What? You think a little thing like her shooting him and putting him in a coma will stop Ryan from wanting to cozy up to a Hottie like Alex? Then you don't know men!

    ReplyDelete
  53. Yeah I guess you have a point, but after all that happened to her I can see why she did that, but no one tried to help her so I can see why she took the dark path instead of the one Nikita took.
