Hannibal - Pulled Episode Becomes Web Series

24 Apr 2013

NBC is giving Hannibal fans a chance to feast on the show’s fourth episode, which was pulled from the schedule ahead of this week’s airing in the wake of the Boston Marathon bombings.

The network is incorporating footage from the lost hour into a series of ”cannibalized” webisodes that will serve as a narrative bridge between Episode 3 and this Thursday’s Episode 5 (NBC, 10/9c)

  1. Well I guess it's better than nothing, but I still think they overreacted by pulling the episode in the first place.

  2. I thought the pulled ep was still airing in overseas markets though? So I figured I'd just watch it online then no big deal. Is it officially pulled EVERYWHERE?

  3. As far as I know it's airing in Poland at least.

  4. Well that's good news, so it should make it's way online. Forget this web series business, I'll take the actual episode, thank you.

  5. This is stupid... They should just post the entire episode online and let adults make decisions for themselves. I will be downloading the episode after it airs overseas.

  6. Thank you NBC. This is a good option.

  7. Actually in this case NBC didn't, Fuller made the call. He was concerned.

  8. Fair enough. :)

  9. It's only pulled in the US so the full ep will be online somehow from overseas. Though I do remember reading that the ep would be online for US viewers as well at a later time.

  10. This is pretty dumb.
I hope I can see the actual episode from an international broadcast.

  11. Then he is overreacting.

  12. I think we all can afford to show sentiment and respect and not wine about this.

  13. Sorry if I sound rude, but I don't know how a tv show and this episode in particular has anything to do with showing sentiment and respect to the Boston tragedy or to any bad thing that happens everyday in the whole world.

  14. But Terrorist attacks like this on our own soil DO NOT. If we can not take a moment to "show" that we feel something for those that can not find any to little solace after these events (and I stress that it's NOT ONLY a terrorist attack that happen this past week), then what good are we? We should not want these events to become like the rest of our everyday lives. We should be concerned and reflect, not deny and avoid.

.If an episode of a TV show is making or breaking one's life, then I think there are other problems there outside of this discussion.

  15. Well that is the whole reason why they are doing these webepisodes to fill in any gaps that comes because of the serialized nature of the show.

  16. Good idea, will watch these as I wait for the full version to emerge online. I know people are annoyed but Fuller made the choice and it wasn't just based on the Boston bombings he also said it was in relation to Sandy Hook and that they filmed this episode prior to that and had been thinking about pulling it for a while.

  17. This is true and official. On 1st May 10 PM, GMT +2. Source: http://www.axn.pl/programy/hannibal (it's in Polish language so just ctrl+f Hannibal 104 - Ceuf, you've got it there)

The problem is that we've got Polish lector (voice-over) and as far as I know, we cannot turn it off (not on that channel).

  18. I just watched the actual episode: compared to every other episode of the show so far it was the most tame. Also the episode was not about kids killing kids, it was about a crazy bitch abducting boys & then forcing them to kill their families so they could become her children. There was in NO WAY any overtones that related to the Boston incident & its rediculous that the episode was pulled. Now had it been airing around the time of the Newton shooting then it would have made sense to pull it, though I still don't see how an episode of a FICTIONAL TV SHOW could have more impact on viewers than having to watch sensationalized media coverage of the actual incidents on every damn channel! If the networks are so concerned about offending/upsetting their viewers they shouldn't be turning horrible things into Must Watch Breaking News Coverage! Is it not bad enough that these horrible things are happening but then allow the media to make those responsible famous? Disgusting.
