ReplyDeleteit's true actually :) towards the end of last season they where neck on neck in viewership and Dexter was only slightly ahead in A18-49 maybe by a 0.1-0.2 A18-49 it's the first time I've actually seen a Network be honest about a show's ratings through a statement. They usually make ratings look better then they are. But not this time.
ReplyDeleteOnly for the first airing of one epsiode of Homeland , and even then Dexter won the night after the re-runs. Otherwise, Dexter has been ahead for 11 episodes, hands down. And any way slightly ahead does not signify a tie. This is not about honesty, this is about David Nevins pushing his baby into the limelight every chance he gets. He's probably shit scared about what's going to happen to his much-touted tenure after Dexter is done. It remains to be seen how well Homeland does without Dexter to wet nurse it. The quality of Homeland Season 2 was under par to say the least. The ratings for it may be fine for now, but it left a chunk of fans and critics questioning whether it had already jumped the shark. By season 3 a once-great show may well be left with the 18-25 female demographic making Brody-Carrie-love fan videos to songs by Taylor Swift.
