While Dexter will end with the upcoming eighth season, that won’t necessarily be the end of the franchise, with a spinoff series a possibility. “There are all sorts of possibilities,”David Nevins said, adding that “all kinds of ideas have been discussed but there is nothing happening right now.” There are no plans to use any of the episodes in the upcoming season of Dexter to set up a potential spinoff, and no Dexter cast members have deals for potential off-shoot series. “This season is about this season playing out the trajectory of the Dexter character,” Nevins said.

...it has to be done. *shoots the horse in the head* There, it's dead! And I've officially prevented it from becoming a zombie.
ReplyDeleteTrouble is the only real interesting characters left on the show are Debs and Dexter and well their storyline will probably be wrapped up in this final season. It's not like anyone is begging for a Quinn spin off.
ReplyDeleteA Harrison spin-off!!!
ReplyDeleteI like this idea but he'd have to be a super vicious killer to differentiate him from Dexter. If he has the same good-bad qualities as Dex it would be boring to watch again. Having said that a Harrison spin off would need to be set in the future and I only like futuristic episodes in the sci-fi genre.
ReplyDeleteI see … Dexter dying this season (I hope not, but it's possible) and Deb taking his place in the spinoff.
ReplyDeleteOr … Dexter 20 years later. Baby Harry all grown up and pick up where daddy left off.
Could be interesting.
ReplyDeleteA "super vicious killer" wouldn't work. The interesting thing about Dexter, the one thing that makes Dexter likable, despite him being a serial killer, is that he's technically a good guy. He kills, true. But he kills only killers. Never kill a innocent person that doesn't deserve it. Rule 2 of his code. You take that from Harry, he's a second Icetruck killer ore Trinity. I don't think many people would watch that for more than one season, maybe two. I enjoy Dexter killing killers. But killing innocents …
ReplyDeleteYeah, but that's what I'm saying...it's been done. I don't want to watch Dexter 2.0 and I want to watch Dexter's super evil spawn be everying his Daddy wasn't *evil laugh*
ReplyDeletePlease don't.
ReplyDeleteIt's all about the benjamins!
ReplyDeleteNo.
ReplyDeleteI want a "LUMEN" spin off complete with "dinner, dessert, and going to bed sequence" opener!
ReplyDeleteLOL! That would be interesting! Didn't think of that! XD
ReplyDeleteDisagree Homeland is great and I'm looking forward to Ray Donovan.
ReplyDeleteThe only way where I could see it be interesting is if Dexter would die and she would have raised Harrison...Otherwise I agree. Personally I want a Lumen spin off.
ReplyDeleteMaybe yeah. But I would still rather watch a Harrison centered spin-off in which he was raised by Deb than having Deb be a constant part of the show. She could be her Harrison (as in the same way Harrison is Dexter's conscience). I do love Debt and I adoooore Jennifer Carpenter, but I just feel like it would be cheating, hard to explain. A lumen spin-off... Hmm. I liked her and all, but personally I prefer Hannah, even though I don't think she is interesting enough to carry a show. But is Lumen? I would give it a try, for sure, but I am not sure it would ha enough dept for it to be sustainable.
